...I don't think I've ever seen anybody use either of the following smilies:
Yet I'm pretty sure I've seen all or almost all of the other ones used at least once. C'mon guys, where's the love for Viking Dude and Shady Contract Guy?
Funnily enough, Shady Contract Guy is used quite frequently on a certain forum I visit from time to time. Despite his appearance, he is actually a smiley of the highest moral integrity.
I have seen used once, however has never received even the slight bit of notice, I blame pirates and ninjas.
Well while we're on the subject of emoticons...
Let's hear some love for the classics.
I blame pirates and ninjas.
ninjas > pirates > vikings
elitespa made up for the lack of viking dude usage by including him in the post background image. i'm fairly sure i've seen shady contract guy used once. indeed should have never been born.
Actually, I have seen used before, a few times, and not in this thread either. It was thrown around by some newb a few months back if I recall.
And as for , I have. But that was years ago, so I don't think it's valid anymore.
indeed should have never been born.
most definitely, i have been offended
have at thee, tasteless swine
i've seen viking used on espa but it was among random emoticon spam
i have a distaste for all emoticons lacking practical use within average conversations
I blame pirates and ninjas.
ninjas > pirates > vikings
No no no, I think you're getting > and < mixed up again. The hierarchy is clearly vikings > pirates > ninjas as this irrefutable evidence shows:
# metal albums about Vikings: uncountably many
# metal albums about Pirates: 22 (the sum total of the discographies of Running Wild and Alestorm, plus the two tribute albums to the former released)
# metal albums about Ninjas: 0.14 (the song The Ninja from Cacophony's Speed Metal Symphony)
I rest my case.
I blame pirates and ninjas.

I was indeed incorrect with my construction of that hierarchy. The REAL hierarchy goes like this:
ninjas > god > pirates > vikings
Ninjas are INSANELY badass. kthxbai

It's vomiting happiness!
The only reason Ninjas rank higher on the awesomeness scale than vikings is that vikings are so badass they need a handicap.
Spoilers: They still win.
I actually remember using Shady Contract Guy a couple of times.
Ones I haven't seen used in a while?
"Why so serious?"
You're tempting me to add "Let's put a smile on that face!" to my post! Stop it!
"I just want my phone call."
"I'm going to make this pencil disappear"
"You want to know which of your friends were cowards?"
"Sometimes I just kill myself!"
oops wrong joker
i have a distaste for all emoticons lacking practical use within average conversations
You say that as if vikings aren't part of average conversations. And they are, unless you are using bad (non-vike) grammar.
creo raises an interesting counterpoint to my previous statement
I belive a new smiley should be put into circulation! ME!
