Ah ok... "newfie" means someone from the Canadian province of Newfoundland And Labrador (or maybe just from the Newfoundland island, I'm not sure) and part of the accent associated with them is to say "I is" instead of "I am" etc... though Newfies don't necessarily speak that way, I know I don't, and most of the people I know from both my hometown and the city I moved to (both on the Newfoundland island) don't either.
