If you enjoy Marvel Comics, you should pick up issue #1 of the new Cable series that goes on sale this week. The author, Duane Swierzcynski, was a professor of mine back in college, and is a top-notch writer (if you like Cable, you should also check out his novels "The Wheelman" and "The Blonde"). He's actually the man who convinced me to get into journalism...so I guess I should blame him for being in the buttcrack of New Mexico.
Anyway, check it out.
Huh, cool.
Unfortunatly it means the end of Cable and Deadpool =(
And Cable was created by Liefield.
So, uh, screw that.
So was Deadpool
And that's partly why Deadpool will never be utterly awesome.
That and I really really hate time travelling characters from the future. Including Bishop.
You are dead to me.
dead in a pool of my own delicious blood?
Trust me on this, give Duane a chance. The guy can be really sick and twisted as anyone who's read his novels can tell you. Two chapters into The Wheelman, he had a character based on himself get murderred by having an assasin shove a pen through his throat.
Gratituous violence does not a good comic make.
Well, it can make for a fantastic comic if GantZ is anything to go by, but for a character like Cable in a Marvel book, I think not.
And just because I can't reiterate it enough.
CABLE: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
