Mameshiba is a mascot character series created by Dentsu which has taken off as a series of hit products. There are 20 characters in total. The above picture is a mobile phone holder Mameshiba.
Here is a good article in English about the reason for the character being made and what other products are being made using the character.
http://www.curiosite.com/scripts/news/ennews.php?frmIdPagina=10159Recently there are a number of TV adverts for the character also which is unusual because normally characters are used to back up a product they are promoting, whereas in the mameshiba adverts there is no product. The advert is to promote the character.
How deliciously disturbing. o.o
so that's what they are... very intersting. and yeah you're right about the commercial thing being odd.
it's funny though, mame in japanese means bean
Ko-Hi Mame is wise beyond his years, though he could easily have said that the world's most gourmet coffee grounds are run through the digestinal track of a weasel or ferret in order to add richness and boldness to the flavor.
Don't knock it until you try it. That's all I say.

well i have eating haggis before so i'm cool, where can i get it, i'll give it a try!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak for more information on it, it costs $100-$600 a pound depending on the quality. For context, my favorite grounds are $8 a pound.
I was able to try it when a UK company attempted to sell it to a widespread audience (I never got feedback on how it went down) and the market research company I was working for got a bag of it to review. The bag was worth £70 and we shared it amongst 4 or 5 brave souls who wanted to experience it.
Wasn't worth £70, but it was a good cup.
70 Euro is what in US dollars again? Silly Brits and your even more silly monetary systems
Brits use pounds sterling. A Euro looks a little different. And that's about $120-140 given the exchange rate.

i don't really care about the price, i ain't financially doing well, but i always like to try everything rich. my motto is "you only live once, make it count" hell i even stayed at the 5 star resort and rented a 2008 Jugar for a day .... though it means you only eat scrabs for a month anyway i found it's picture, it actually has a weasle on it shouldn't be hard to notice. it'll take me awhile but when i find it i'll sure to try it.
as for the math in currancy, 1 british pound is 1.6 us dollars. their pound is stronger.

£ was invented before $

I know the $ is now more important but yeah 😀
Also haggis looks gross.
it taste messy.... it's a little runny ..... too much grease in it.... but it's okay, it's better than fish eyes

Wait, I was told they converted to the Euro o_O
Nope, we Brits will require another war to make us seperate from the pound. We are proud of our heritage.
We're all over-patriotic sods. Pretty much on par with the US, except we take much delight in hypocritically yelling at Americans for going on about "American freedom" and the like 😀 But then again us Brits hate pretty much anyone who isn't Canadian or Australian!
I'm quite Eurosceptic but since the treaty's up and running now we may as well go for the more powerful Euro before our exchange rate gets too weak.

i don't believe the Euro is that much stronger, just 0.2 or so more than the british pound.
i honestly was gonna say the same yeah you are proud people.
