I dunno why I find what seem to be electronic cries of pain soothing.
I like it when you watch a cartoon, and it's kind of light hearted and people are having some kind of conversation about the lessons they've learned, and then the funny animal of the show comes in and does something silly, everyone says something about the animal, they all laugh, and then they cut to the animal as it does its HORRIBLE TERRIBLE SHRIEKING OH GOD MAKE IT STOP IT'S JUST TOO AWFUL!
That's how I feel about pokemon noises.
If you don't pay very close attention, it sounds like a scratched techno disc...
I actually found that pretty relaxing too, the first generation especially. It's kinda nostalgic.
It's funny, Trish was listening over my shoulder and when it got to Gen 3, she just said "Okay, turn it off, I don't recognize them anymore".
I kind of wish they spoke their own names, like in the anime.
They're not cries of pain, they're just being released ...
I prefer the electric-esque sound of game Pikachu over the annoying anime Pikachu.
Aggron remains to sound like a train.
The newest generation will say their names. All the rest will keep their beeps.
Those sounds sound like a bunch of crazy sound effects and garbled up noises.

I like these noises.
Somebody should dub over the anime with these. Like, instead of Pokémon blurting out their names, they blurt out these screeches instead. Even when they're just talking.
