i would have expected more awesome but i guess it is vg cats
you know, the modern vg cats, not when he used to update on time and be consistently funny vg cats
At least it's funnier then CAD... which isn't saying much
Getting cancer is funnier than CAD. Tim Buckley is where punchlines go to DIE.
Y'know, I didn't even realize that there was any problem with CAD until Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation fame pointed it out quite clearly on his blog.
(Case in point, he used a Puzzle Quest-based comic from both CAD and Penny Arcade - they had the same basic motif and punchline, but whereas Penny Arcade ended on the punchline, CAD kept on going for two more panels. I hadn't even noticed until that comparison.)
Kind of a semantical difference. As long as the intended joke is funny, I don't really see why it matters if the comic goes on a little longer. As long as it's not ridiculously so; two whole panels though isn't that bad.
When it is two panels filled with text, it's bad. Telling jokes is all about timing. You don't want your joke to be too short, but you also don't to drag it on and on.
The end panel really clinches it. Nicely done.
Shads. That blog post you mention intrigues me. Do you have a link handy?
