I have a few questions about this forum and its environs. I would like to ask them here, so, if anyone could answer, that'd be great! ^_^

First Question: How do most people handle Roleplays here? Like, do you use the Format Method, or the Semi-literate Method?

Firstly, do you mean using the chat, or using the message board?

Um... The message board?

Well, if you take a look at the RP Guild, you should be able to get an idea of what sorts of RPs we run there. Also, you can post any questions about RPing in the Unofficial RP discussion thread if you like. It's fine to ask here though.

I'm personally not sure about the difference between the two types of RP styles you mentioned, but generally we allow a degree of flexibility while keeping it important not to control or force other characters into things. And we don't use a script or other sort of format, to my knowledge.

All roleplays - except, occasionally, Group Missions (MF Central), or spam RPs (SPA) - are to be posted in the Roleplayers Guild forum.

Does that answer the question? If not, could you be more specific about what you mean between format and semi-literary styles?

Speaking of RPs, I assume the Group Mission for EB is going to be cancelled? Or is it just going to be brought back over here and redone?

The majority of our RPs are more like pass-along stories. They take on an almost novel format. The script RPs died out at the turn of the century when I came aboard and we started cracking down. There's always the chat RPs for that, bwah haha. *shot by Terg*

GME? Considering EB is dead (correct me if I'm wrong), it's probably gone. I think the GM died long before then, though.

Yeah, GME died. Just like Eliteboard. Fitting, really, since the point of GM: Exodus was to mark the triumphant passage of our community to its new home. Which didn't happen. So much time has passed and so many players dropped off that it'd be virtually impossible to continue.

That said, I've got a new idea for a Group Mission that I may open up soon. I'm working on some details and elements for it though, so it may be a while yet.

For the record, the data for GME and all other eb posts is still existant, just floating in limbo.

True. And at least one person saved all of the posts in it. However, it's been so long that effectively many of the players have left the board, or were EB-exclusive to begin with. So we can safely say it isn't going to continue.

Besides, it's been like, what, a year since we played it?

Ok, you pretty much answered that question.

Second Question: How strict are the rules for thread creation?

I was going to nose around the guidelines for you but the link is broken. o.o

Right under it though is this:

  • You DON'T have to RP about Sonic or Mega Man. It can be ANYTHING you wish to RP about.[*]Feel free to try any RP format, including character roleplay, group stories, or whatever you can think of.[*]Remember to be friendly, open minded, keep it clean, and above all: Have fun. :)[/list:u:6491b09ec2]As far as I'm aware, there is a single thread per new RP, but I'm not a avid user of that forum. In general, users are invited to make new threads whenever they have something new to discuss. So it follows that in the RP forum, a new topic should be made when you have something new to RP about. Creating multiple threads in a relatively short timespan (say, a day/few days) is undesirable. Unless by some act of grace they are all super successful topics.
  • If you do slip up somehow, I doubt you'll be given anything more than a warning. Doing the same thing after already being warned about it is usually the only time to worry about MF "strict"ness.

I see. And about the roleplaying: I doubt I'll get into it anytime soon, seeing as I've got deadlines to meet, and the fact that I'm using a library computer right now. I will however, get to it when I have my own internet and some free time. I've created RPs before that last up to two years. I'm fairly good at coming up with stories! (probably because I'm a writer...)

Third Question: What happened to Acrio!? I haven't seen any new posts from him in a while.

(@tergonaut)

Shifty is Acrio.

Yes, while we certainly could use an activity boost in the Guild, at the same time it would still be good to start off with one, maybe two, separate RP ideas. At the present time it is unpredictable as to whether they will even take off - not because the ideas may be bad, but because activity is based on user interest.

I have no issue with multiple RP's being started. However if you make an RP, people tell you whats wrong with the start and you want to fix it? Simply edit that post, don't make a new thread, I would expect the people trying to help to edit their posts as well to prevent hindered developement. If they don't edit or remove their OOC posts... Well, PM me and I will remove the posts. I love BELETING things.

OBJECTION!

Dead is not a color. And you don't always die from being choked.

I would imagine purple, although that would be on the presumption that they have red blood, and also that their physiology matches carbon-based life form statistics. They might turn yellow for all we know.

Vulcans had green blood. Andorians had blue blood. Smurfs could have blue blood. :3

If I took off my helmet in space, and my head blew up, would the blood be bluish purple? If so, AWESOME.

assuming that you are a healthy mammalian vertebrate, your blood should contain the respiratory pigment known as hemoglobin, which makes your blood red and able to carry oxygen. although it may have a bluish hue when deoxygenated, it really doesn't go much farther than dark red on the color spectrum. the fluid emanating from your spontaneously combusted head would probably be red.

That is a major disappointment. I don't even want to do it anymore =
