I don't know why this hasn't been replied to yet. I'm suprised that Max Headroom thing happened during my lifetime (though technically I was less than a year old at that time so I wouldn't have remembered it anyway)
that's pretty damn awesome. i'd be surprised as all hell if i were witness to one of these things.
when watching to two max headroom ones, i wondered why no one had used it to hoax aliens, but of course then there was the 1977 vid following it.
it'd be nifty if someone did this nowadays 😯
Neat find! The only time I remember hearing about it was in a high school class where a guy would hijack news feeds to urge people to pratice safe sex.

Wow. The Vrillon one is absoloutely amazing. I'm shocked I've not heard about this given that it was on prime time in London 30 years ago. My dad must have heard about this, I'll ask him when he comes home.

These things are classic. I think the last episode of Jimmy Neutron (Lady Sings the News) involved him getting busted for hijacking the signal of the local news? I wish someone did something like the alien thing.
