I blame Zigglesworth. He started it by posting a sincere, honest to goodness poll looking for real feedback about his sig.
How DARE he.
All it takes is one person to show that polls work and everybody wants to abuse it, catching the eye with its unique posticon. Pretty soon all these batch of poll threads will be shelved and the poll option will be dropped for two months until people find it again and abuse it.
On a completly unrelated note I voted for -SERIOUSLY-
