The Passion of the Christ. Hey, it IS Easter after all.

I saw Passion once, back when it came out. It was good, graphic... and probably something I don't plan on watching again.

Anyways, to what I've seen.... uh, saw parts of The Game Plan... seemed okay. Cute, funny... a nice film to watch with younger kids.

Tonight I started to watch the UNRATED version of Live Free or Die Hard. Got an hour in before we stopped for the night (Dad, who hasn't seen it, has work tomorrow). I'm very tempted to switch over to the PG-13 version. All it adds is slightly more blood (might just be me) and more swearing. I've seen the theatrical release 3 or 4 times, and I have to admit I'm turned off by the swearing. Funny thing is I love Clerks, Pulp Fiction, Boondock Saints, and these films are just littered with swearing. It seems to take away from the experience, rather than add to it.

OH, and they changed the helicopter scene! McClain no longer mentions "Yeah, I was out of bullets"... now he says "1000s of people are killed by cars each year... what's four more"... totally ruined the scene =

I've just seen Saw 2, 3 and 4.

Saw 2 wasn't that good. It felt a bit rushed and you don't know why half of the characters are in the house.

I enjoyed Saw 3 and 4 however. Focusing on one man's turmoil in the two films rather than barely knowing about lots of people worked I though.

I enjoy the series for the surprise twists during and at the end of the movie and trying to guess what's going on and not so much for the gruesome traps.

Just so you don't think I'm into torture porn or something.

Went to see "El Orfanato" last night. I would like to add my voice to the ranks of those who thought it a fantastic movie. Perhaps I'm biased, though - it was partly a Warner Bros Espana picture and it turns out my Spanish hasn't withered and died, so I could more or less ignore the subtitles. That is such a great feeling

The folks I saw it with were equally impressed. The consensus was that it wasn't as scary as J-horror, but was definitely very creepy and they were glad they'd seen it. Win I'd thought I'd have to go see it by myself, so I was surprised at their enthusiasm.

At some point before the Hollywood remake comes out, I'm really going to have to look at my copy of "The Eye" on DVD...

Pach: Your mission in life is to save me the horror of watching that movie by giving me the play-by-play.

Seeing Whiskers in it makes me happy, but Nikki Sanders (hope sh-*Heroes S2 Spoilz!) as Claire fuels me with rage.

Last movie I saw?

Synced Terminator 2 with CJ while it was on ITV this weekend, but didn't catch the latter half.

Last time I watched a full movie... all the way through? ...huh... I wanna say Transformers the Movie about 3 weeks ago.

Don't judge me! I don't ask that it be your favorite movie.

I saw 21 over the weekend... It wasn't bad, just kind of meh. Could have been more action packed? idk.

I'm actually looking forward to "LeatherHeads" this weekend. Although iirc, the reviews so far haven't been favorable =.

EDIT:
eh, I'm bored and since I don't feel like starting a new topic or anything, I figured I'd add the movies I'm looking forward to ...

The Dark Knight, Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones 4, Ironman, Wall*E, Smart People... and although it has just started filming, Public Enemies... Deep and Bale? Couldn't be anything less than win.

Dunno if it counts, but watched the Hogfather the other night.

Thought it was great fun, and Death was an awesome character throughout!

Will hopefully watch The Colour of Magic much sooner...

On TCoM, I was suprised. I didn't think Sir David Jason would be suitable for the role of our cowardly wizard, since I, and apparantly everyone else, has always imanged him younger and scrawny. But man. DJ can pull off any role any time. He wasn't perfect for it before he stepped into the dead wizard's pointy shoes, but now he's there... he IS Rincewind.

In fact, the whole casting was par excellance. Hogfather didn't do much for me, but then the book never did either. I Understand the point of view of marketing christmas and then going for the first books, but really, Hogfather, CoM and LightFantastic are the three worst books in the series.

However, the preduction of Hogfather aside (rather blah, excepting Death) this production of Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic was, in my opinion superior to the books in every way, apparently from what I heard in no small part due to an incessant amount of nagging from TP. I just hope that this leads to funding for the later books, since Terry is by self admition an authour whom uses screen tricks in his books, and there is much, much better material then The Discworld Christmas Special and My First Fantasy Parody.

I'm holding my fingers crossed for a Men at Arms ataptation....

Just watched Juno... Diablo Cody's writing is just amazing... both biting and heart warming.

"Look. In my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."

The 2 disc edition was the best $18 I've spent on a movie this year.

I forgot to mention I saw "Smart People" last Friday. It wasn't great, but it definitely wasn't bad. Thomas Haden Church and Ellen Page are awesome and totally redeem the movie... Oh and Sarah Jessica Parker needs to get rid of that damned mole on her chin. I almost threw up a couple of times... just grooooooss

Just saw "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"... It was actually pretty damn funny. Mila Kunis was acutally hot in this movie? It is odd, as I have never thought of her as attractive before.

Went to my local drive-in theatre (and by local I mean a block away from my house) and was treated to a $10 triple feature of Horton Hears a Who (cute and funny), College Road Trip (stupid, but Donny Osmond is funny as hell), and Drillbit Taylor (not bad).

^sooooo lucky, I miss going to the drive-in. Ours was demolished years ago to have stores put in place.

Last movie I watched was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Such a trip.

I went and saw "[Rec]" on Tuesday evening (Showcase £4 ftw). Gruesome, gory and kind of like a mix between Blair Witch & Res Evil. They were bang on with the type of rubbish TV shows that clog the evening airwaves in Spain, mind you.

I much prefered "El Orfanato" though.

Watched Warrior King today, known as The Protector in the US.

It's a Thai Martial Arts action movie starring Tony Jaa, who's like a fusion of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, as Kham.

The story is about Kham's quest to retrieve his pet elephants, one a baby, both of whom were poached during a festival in Thailand and imported to Australia. It sounds a bit odd like that, but Kham is from a peaceful village that lives side by side with the elephants, they help with their daily lives, from travel to resource gathering, and as loyal companions, Kham sees Korn (the baby) and Po Tai (the babies father) as brothers, and had inspired much about his life.

Anyway, there's a lot more to see in the film regarding story, as most of it takes place in Sydney, but it involves a criminal underworld of poachers, who are incredibly resourceful when it comes to kung fu minions.

It's a brutal and incredible spectacle, any martial art movie fan will want to see this, both for the Muay Thai fights and the stunt work, Tony Jaa is damn near insane.

Infact, if you love old school beat 'em ups like Final Fight or Streets of Rage then you should give it a look too, it feels like one of them come to life in parts.

All in all, very, very enjoyable.

Just watched One Missed Call and Cloverfield today.

The former seemed to be the usual "J-Horror with detail removed and graphics added to be more no-nonsense and shocking for American audiences" affair. Catchy ringtone, though.

The latter I throughly enjoyed.

Just finished Men in Black... lol, I think this was the first PG-13 movie I saw 8O. I thought I'd find it corny, but it is still funny after all these years =)

Once I hear back from my buddy, I will be ordering my tickets for the 12:01am 5-22-08 showing of Indiana Jones so damned excited =)

Finally got around to watching Sweeney Todd. I've never seen so much blood and I work in a hospital setting! Awesome movie/musical. I got the whole Barber and his wife song stuck in my head. Loved Johnny's work. I was creeped out by Anthony's singing "I'll steal you Johanna" while looking very disturbed.

I'm gonna go buy the movie ^_^

Watched What Happens in Vegas yesterday, I went in thinking I'd hate it, but it made me laugh quite a few times, and quite enjoyed it. Not a great movie by any means, but enjoyable.

Today I watched the real Transformers movie, old cartoon one. To echo what Craig was basically saying before, it's basically the greatest music video ever made. Still love it though!

I think I watched the Stargate movie not to long ago, but I can't really remember. I haven't really even bothered with TV in a long time, so who knows... I'd probably have to ask Ksemanr to find out, but that's unlikely.

Yesterday I watched the second Ultimate Avengers animated movie, thus completing my viewing of all the currently available animated Marvel movies until Avengers Next and The Mighty Thor are made.

Honestly though, this was very disappointing, it's more of a second half than an actual sequel, but even then, so many things just make no sense what so ever it may aswell have been a collection of clips from completely different cartoons.

My main complaints about the first title haven't changed, the animation is poor, the art is ugly, the characters are overly generic, and there are only three useful characters, Thor, Hulk, and Ironman.

Now, here's one of the things that really annoyed me, there's a big revelation that the alien invaders' super strong, nearly indestructible armour, vibranium, is turned brittle when radiated with Gamma waves, making Hulk the ultimate weapon against them, essentially, however, the Hulk himself gets about 2 minutes of screen time that isn't from the previous movie.

Now here's where it starts getting silly, after this revelation, only one gamma gun is made as there's a fight already going on, yet the actual battle shows that there isn't any need for the gamma gun, as lasers, bullets, darts, Cap's shield, lightning...etc...all seem to be doing glorious work against them, and when the African tribe of Wakanda can no longer his their big lasers, they have those, they resort to using rocks on catapults, spears, and arrows, and achieve GREATER results, than great big laser cannon equipped cat headed statues!

...I could go on and on, but I won't. Anything I had against JL New Frontier no longer affects me, as it is a much better movie in every way.

So far the only movie worth watching from Marvel and Liongate's animated features is Doctor Strange, as the Iron Man one is rendered obsolete by the awesomeness of the live action equivalent, and Strange is actual pretty good all round.

The last two I saw were Speed Racer and Iron Man. I thought Iron Man was alright, but alittle long for me. I loved Speed Racer. I saw it at IMAX and I'm surprised I didn't have a seizure.

Tonight I'm going to go see Sex in the City and (embarrassingly) I'm sort of really excited. It looks incredibly over the top and fun.

Rockman EXE: Program of Light & Dark

It's the theatrical movie premier based off the Battle Network anime in Japan, which was actually pretty good. It wasn't long, but it stayed within the basic plot with the anime (Rockman EXE Stream) and the animation had a crisp feel to it (the fighting scenes were amazing, but Forte Japanese VA was too feminine for that character).
