I saw Hot Fuzz this weekend. Everyone else who considers themselves enjoyers of cinema should go see it as well.

This is not a request. This is an order.

The last movie I watched was The Pursuit of Happiness. 'Twas a very good movie, and right now, the family is watching a Hallmark movie on CBS that stars Dean Cain.

Sunshine.
Fairly good sci-fi film. I'd certainly recommend giving it a look.

Inside Man.

Suprisingly good movie, though it suffers greatly through the need to introduce a new character and an entire subplot for walking context. Without it the perfect robbery angle is lost, but with it we have 20 minutes of a supremely well acted Jodie Foster taking a claustophoic movie on a walkie across New York.

Also... how did the robbers find out the secret information that Jodie Foster is hired to conceal? The entire movie's concept is built on that and we never get resolution.

The Constant Gardener.
Another fairly good film, and accurate as to the sort of things the big pharmaceuticals do get up to. I know.

Movie 131 of the year (already): Lady in the Water.

It's like a fairy tale version of Cocoon with no subplot, fantasy intrigue or help in suspending disbelief.

Simple synopsis: M Night Shyamalan is the profit saviour of Earth, oh and there's a fairy tale full of snorks nurfs and whatsits to help us say how awful movie critics are and how silly the world is.

lol @ Craig... My roommate and I laughed the whole way through that movie...

In my absence I watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, went to see Spiderman 3 last Friday, and just finished watching Raiders of the Lost Arc tonight N_n... I can not freakin' wait till next year m/

And now for my Summer Movie Must/Want to see List:

MUST
Shrek the Third - First 2 were funny... This one looks like much of the same
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - Do I really need to say more?
Evan Almighty - Watched the trailer on IGN... Looks hillarious. Never saw Bruce Almighty... Might have to now...
Ratatouille - Pixar + Brad Bird ? Hell, even just Pixar alone is reason enough for me to kidnap the sibblings for an afternoon at the theater!
The Bourne Ultimatum - The first one was okay. The second was amazing (especially the unexpected beginning)... Can't wait to see how the trilogy ends.

WANT/MIGHT
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - This and Knocked Up looked funny. Might not be worth the $$$ though.
Knocked Up
Ocean's 13 - Previews looked decent. Might have to lay down the $$$ and watch the first 2 before deciding though.

yayz

28 Weeks Later. Far surpasses the original.

Even though the camera shots ranged from brilliant to peter jackson ripoffs.

I went to see "Meet The Robinsons" on a fly last night, and holy wow, it is a lot better than I expected. I mean, Disney's last animated movie "Home On The Range" was more than a disappointment, it was flat-out sad.

But this totally wins in ways that make it Pixar-Quality, without the Pixar. The characters rock, the ending is beautiful, and it made me cry. SO THERE. 😀 The eye candy is impressive as well. Go see it, I highly recommend it.

Good film, but I may have sympathised with the protagonist more than one is meant to.

Flushed Away.

Preferred it to Curse of the the Were-rabbit in a lot of ways. It didn't feel like a half hour sketch that'd been dragged out and had innuendo inserted - but that may just be down to me being too used to the original format of Wallace and Gromit.

Oh hells yes! @ Pirates. My good London friend booked tickets for the opening night, Leicester Square, and we're searching for cosplay this weekend!

Last movie? I managed to sneak in City of Lost Children after Tricia went to a concert last night. I never thought I'd ever describe a movie as "Terry Gilliam on crack", but there it is.

Ron Perlman as a gingernaught is scary, awesome and puts Vinnie Jones to shame.

lol @ Craig... I'm going to try to get in on Thursday night as well. I'll probably reserve tickets.

I tried to organize a whole mob of people on Facebook (I invited all 300 some of my friends) to converge on one theater here in the Twin Cities, but I think it failed =... So just me and my buddy will go. Good times none the less

But yes- I will of course be seeing Pirates.

I'm not liking the fairly universal panning that Shrek the Third seems to be getting, either.

The friend of mine who has ticket's to his city's first screening of Pirates 3 - and then gets to leap into his car and drive straight down to a LRP event - has my jealousy.

My Lucky Stars, very funny Martial Arts comedy with Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung, though more of a Sammo movie, it's presented otherwise.

Watched Pitch Black last night. It was ok. Nice to see Keith David in person, as I've always respected his voice work.

I'm trying to rig Pirates 3 to be my 150th, and was going to take the hit and watch White Chicks on Channel Five tonight, to get one more for the list. I managed 3 minutes before deciding that 149 is a good number, too.

I just saw Shrek the Third. My say?: Meh. To me, it just kinda failed it's expectations. It wasn't terrible, and there were plenty of fine LMAO moments, but they were really few and far between compared to the nonstop funny of Shrek 2. The plot was alright. The visual effects were perfect in every way, practically photorealistic. And did anyone else catch Regis as the other ugly stepsister? XD

Caught "The Break-up" last night. My poor ears had to endure a camp a capella rendition of Owner of a Lonely Heart.

The entire movie can be summed up as such "Jennifer Aniston is a shedog, Vince Vaughn is a douche. They break up."

Oh and nude butt, if you're into aging Z-list behind.

I saw Shrek 3 last night. 5:20 PM on a Tuesday night, virtually no one was in the theatre. I was greatly looking forward to see the Simpsons Movie trailer in the theatre, too.

Well, I thought it was good. Not as good as the first two, but it wasn't that bad.

Oh yes we watched Pan's in my AP Spanish class. La pelicula es muy bien. =P I enjoyed it very much. But I just got done watching "Hulk". I know I know, "Ang Lee's Hulk...that movie was trash". I'm sorry but I thoroughly enjoyed it. To be honest The Incredible Hulk is probably my favorite Marvel character[out of the ones I know, which isn't that many]. Yes and by character, i'm including Bruce Banner. He's actually what I love about the Hulk so much. The idea of a child who has a plethora of repressed thoughts, a false sense of identity, which leads to his mental breakdown and sparatic behavior later in life.

Stan Lee was a genius when he thought up this creation. Emotions play a large part in the lives of all of us and this helps the audience relate to Bruce, IMO. Just think about those times when you've been so angry you felt like you could explode. Well Stan gives you that outlet through the Hulk. Not to mention the inclusion of the theoretical study of the least known wave of the electromagnetic spectrum. Surely gamma radiation is highly, highly dangerous and considering it's not something we hear much about or study as much as X-, UV and Infrared Rays it makes you wonder what happens to things that are subjected to gamma. It's the stuff of stars, you know. :p

Flawed is fine, but I know that movie was super polarized. There were many who loved it, then many more who hated it. No inbetween. I love it. Personally. I think today me and my dad are going to see SM3...finally. We have cash. lol

Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Great movie, loved it - which, considering I didn't like 2, is pretty good. Mind you, apparently the critics were not loving it, which means I have high hopes for Shrek 3. If the critics say it's rubbish, then it's probably my sort of movie. If they say it's a must-see, thought-provoking, gem of a movie then it's probably 3 hours of unmitigated boredom.

There's a fair difference between the critical reviews of Pirates 3 (which complain about plot and length) and those for Shrek 3 (which don't like anything about the film at all).

As someone who quite enjoyed Shrek 2, I doubt 3 will be any good.

The last movie I saw WAS Shrek 3, and I rather enjoyed it. I mean, it wasn't continuous funny, and honestly I'd have liked Merlin to get more screen time (Eric Idle is such a good actor), but it definitely had its moments. It's like Spider-Man 3, really; it's a GOOD movie, just not a SUPERB one.

Another Jackie Chan fan?! Robobotnik, Police Story is awesome, it's definitely some of Jackie's best stunt work ever. The Drunken Master films, New Police Story and Crime Story are worth checking out if you haven't yet.

Haven't been watching movies much lately, but I think the last film I watched was Death Note The Last Name, which was good but felt rushed since they were cramming the rest of the manga they didn't cover in the first film into it. Death Note should've been a trilogy, there was enough material for it, and too much for just two movies.

I really want to see Drunken Master and i've heard Police Story was great. As for me though, I saw When Harry Met Sally for the first time last night at a friend's. I love romantic comedies and I love 80s films. So this movie was a total catch. Definitely up there on my list. *thumbs up*
