Why... that sounds like a wonderful idea, Legion.
Do it.
Make a network and I will watch.
Your missing 2 of the best anime ever Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop.
I shall CT together we shall make the ultimate anime network...& we shall call it SQUISHE!!!..& it will be our squishie!!!!
...we're naming it after Rishi`s original account name!?
...
AWESOME!
Your missing 2 of the best anime ever Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop.
Oh snap...your right...Well Just pt Cowboy bebop in Inuyashas time slot on fri sat & sun
& have Eureka seven be in tenchi's spot on the weekends.
THere....problem solved.....Now im going to go Punch myself in the face for actually typing oh snap!
Because you'd be showing only reruns very fast, and of shows that have already been aired many times on other channels.
True but syndicated shows do just as well as new show (& it would seem latly some do better) & Case closed, yuyuhahusho, kenshin & Tenchi havn't been seen in years!
Plus its not like Rerun networks don't work..look at TV land, boomerang & nick@nite!
What's the deal with the love for G Gundam anyway?
The problem with that idea was already mentioned, as well the royalties would be a pain to pay for because they are numerous studios who hold North American rights to these shows on that list (There is a reason why Jump All stars will never have it's @$$ kissing the bottom of your local gaming shelf). As well, who are the target audience, ME, some other mid-to-late twenty something who works all day and night?
TV Land works because it has a small niche audience who the networks aim to please. It's not a lot, but it's within their projective. Anime fans (as fickle as they/we are) wont bother to watch something with commercials when they can just watch it online in all of it's twenty-three plus minutes of commercial free bliss.
In Dreamland, yes. In reality, not a chance.
EDIT: Yeah I know about the Anime Channel, but there is an obvious reason that failed.
Lack of Fullmetal Alchemist = FAIL
A la carte channel pricing could potentially fix the weak distribution Anime Network and FUNimation Channel have. Instead of leaving it up to Big Cable to provide you with 5 channels you watch regularly and 100 you'll never touch while excluding the underdog networks (depending on the package), make it so that you can pick and choose.
The Internet is another viable option. Who needs TV when you can download just about any show worth watching?

W..... T..... F..... ?
I can answer! I can answer!
An anime channel would not work out as Japanese seasons are irregular and would be in blocks ranging from 13 episodes to 50ish, thusly various shows would be at different points of their runs and any order would be nigh on impossible to maintain.
This would not matter with syndicated shows as, generally, the idea for those is to bring in audiences at any point.
Anime by a rule, especially with self-contained shows of 13/26/52 episodes, is continuity heavy and very hard to get into mid swing.
Thusly, without the ability to start an ordering, of which new shows can all start up and go through their runs at an even pace, it would alienate new audiences and as a rule anime fans are crazy people who don't need to be advertized. Infact, the young adult demographic is worthless in the eyes of advertizers as we are yet not rich enough to buy sports cars and too old to have our parents buy cheaply produced crap.
It's why Justice League got cancelled >>; and why Adult Swim is failing and such.
So, an anime channel would be so niche market (in a genre where fans consider dubbed voice acting the devil, anyway) which no advertizers would want to pay the bill for.
Remember, in television, we, the viewer, are the product, not the consumer... and no companies want to buy a demographic who are so poor we mostly live on ramen.
True craig...very true.......But still, it would be nice.....& i just realized i forgot to put Lupibn the 3rd on the list! oh no!
I demand all day sailor moon and a pokemon to hold [
It's called Anime Central and it's channel 199 on UK Sky.

Because you'd be showing only reruns very fast, and of shows that have already been aired many times on other channels.
You can get new series from Japan (with subtitles of course).
In addition, you can have additional programming which goes along with the shows. Live coverage of comic conventions, etc.

The broad audience will not bother to watch a line-up of shows with subtitles, plus I hear Japan are pretty stingy when it comes to selling their titles to the West.
Yes i could Air subbed shows as well as dubbed...Genius! ANd To answer the Question of Why NO Harahui or lucky star..Well Both our Great Animes...But i wouldnt call them classics...Yet....let them Mature a year or 2..Then will see....Oh & I guess FMA would take FLCL place once its been aired once or twice.... & Sadly i don't live on the UK nor does my provider get The Funi channel...SO the only animes I get to watch out the ones on CN/AS & the few DVDs i have....Wich hopefully will be much larger after this Christmas!
I Would also Have a entire month dedicated to the Myazaki films like CN used to do!
