Oct 16:

Kotaku hands on contains a lot of new info. They also posted a gametrailers video. Now that I've seen more of the battle scenes, I've decided I don't like their new look. If they kept the map sprites colourful, why not the battle sprites? Also, I'm really gonna miss Grit and co. I hope the old COs are unlockable, including Sturm this time. Sturm 4 final boss plz.

Oct 14:

New images. Translations available in the AWBW thread.

Oct 11:

I might as well make this an FEDS topic too. It's going to be a remake of FE1; nobody knows if it will include book 2 yet.

On the more modern side of things, AWDS2 looks a thousand times more aesthetically pleasing due to not using horrendous sprite resizing. Oh, and the new sprites too. lol, one of them looks like a megatank.

Oct 6: Footage. Sideways.

Oct 1: Jeux. Read the newer posts in the NeoGAF thread for more info.

Sep 29: It's been featured in the Micromania Games Show. Not much new information, though what we do get is quite interesting.

While I'm wary of just how big of a change this could be, if it really is set in a totally different world then there's a chance we'll have Sturm as the big boss man again. ...Or another cheap knockoff, which is much more likely...

They still haven't changed the title. maybe they wanted a different title to go along with the atmospheric shift, but that still doesn't explain why they didn't just go with AWDS2 if the best they could come up with is AW2...2.

Update: The list has been updated and expanded. AW2 is still on the list, now flagged with "tentative title". Looks more likely now. SPM, MP3, and PH dates are all there. I know at least one of those was already dated, but I'm not checking which. Galaxy is also supposedly making it before '08, and a bunch of other titles have been dated too.

This topic was originally about Advance Wars DS 2. It's come out of nowhere and landed on Nintendo of Europe's release list. It's dated for the end of this year. There was no mention of it at Nintendo's E3 conference and Intelligent Systems themselves won't be making an appearance either.

The complete silence about it all this time and its first appearance being on the EU list points to it being yet another NoE error. That is quite likely, but I hope not.

I guess you could say that it could just be an AW2 port since there's no DS in the title, but that's even less likely.

Heh, you know I tried to find AW for GBA and I never could. Always wanted it though. Never could get it. =/ As for a NoE error...yea you're probably right, but maybe Nintendo is trying to give something back to you guys...considering you get a lot of things 2nd or 3rd, as far as gaming's concerned. Nintendo has a heart. =]

Nintendo of Europe does not have a heart.

In the slightest.

I'm anticipating this being yet another error.

I'm surprised Trauma Centre is even coming out at all! :crazy :

At least Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Phantom Hourglass and Metroid will keep me busy whilst waiting for Brawl after it comes out so much later from you bloody Americans. :(

Hahaha this is like a European outreach topic or something. So i'm assuming NA games don't work on EU systems? I think I remember that being an issue earlier before the releases. Sorry, Europe. =(

the only thing that prevents them from playing on EU consoles is the fact that US games are NTSC format, while the EU standard is PAL (although to be fair most tvs can do NTSC nowadays), and Nintendo's own region protection. *shakes fist*

The bike infantry unit sounds awesome, as does the prospect of an overhaul with more realistic-y graphics. It definitely sounds like a nice change but as long as the core gameplay remains the same I'm chuffed.

Hopefully the title gets revamped... o.o

How about they just call it DS Wars? You know, something that makes sense considering the series' history?

The sprites in the Fire Emblem remake leave a little something to be desired.

On the other hand... Marth.

Wow, those sprites do look a little meh. As long as the animations are decent though I have no real qualms.

The maps have taken a definite improvement.

Age of Empires DS{which, by the by, is surprisingly good} uses a similar style for the battle sprites, which I quite like; I don't think there's much need for worry. Granted, AoEDS features actual battles between groups of units and modern FE is istabu.

Well, I have the game. I'm still unsure about how I feel about most of the changes and I'm definitely unhappy with only 12 playable COs and it's feeling like AW1 Normal/AW2 Hard difficulty but I am having a ton of fun. I can confidently say that IS has done a great job of remastering the system, even if I'm still unsure about a lot of the changes.

I'm taking it very slow even though I really want to unlock Tabitha. I got a very satisfying 22-day S-rank victory in C20, waged a rather odd battle in C21 and am on-and-off struggling against C22.

Getting all S ranks is going to take me months.

So, who's the new main character? I'm going to miss Andy and his pleasant-ness...
