Hey guys, I'm sure a lot of you know of Shenmue, Sega's very expensive game saga that didn't go quite as planned. After 5 years of waiting for the next chapter, Videogaiden (a TV show on BBC2 Scotland) have started up a campaign to get answers from Sega about Shenmue III, and to find out what it's current status is. I am aware there's a link to the Videogaiden site on another thread, but here it is again: www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/videogaiden/

Give it a look, and see what you think. If you'd like to show your support for Shenmue III, you can send all sorts of custom made videos, pics and the like about Shenmue, showing your support for the Saga. You should send these to the Videogaiden section of Youtube for display, which is here:
www.youtube.com/group/videogaiden

In about five weeks (at the time of posting this!) Videogaiden are gonna contact Sega, and show them all of the support. The official discussion for this, is on the Shenmue Dojo.

So...let's get going. Please try to spread the word about this! Thank you! :smile

Shenmue III has as much chance of seeing the light of day as an official Nintendo english localization of Mother 3. 😮

Prove me wrong on both counts, video game industry. I DARE YOU.

VideoGaiden is also a great show, BTW.
They've made me want to buy Pathologic.

Well, imagine waiting for the next chapter for nearly 5 years, and then you're close to what some fans have been going through! :^^;
But that's great HyperSonic, it's good to see that people are still discovering it to this day. If only Sega kept true to their word at Shenmue II's ending, "The Story goes on..." :|

Haha... That's nothing... Imagine waiting 11 years for a game (Earthbound 2 was hinted at on a messageboard at the end of Earthbound)... It's been 8 years since EB64 was originally scheduled to be released... Multiple delays and finally a cancelation later in 2000... Rumors resurfaced in 2002... Mother 3 GBA released earlier this year...

So yeah, before you start whining about waiting for a sequel, look around you...

Imagine waiting 12 years for a decent Sonic sequel. Pure murder.

Honestly, as much as it pains me, Shenmue 3 is very unlikely to happen considering how the first two didn't fare so well. Although there is that online game, but it looks more like a kind of Street Fighter online game, and I think it's only being released in Korea. Yakuza is the closest thing to Shenmue Sega have made as of late, but it's nowhere near as good.

What's gotten you so sulky? All I'm saying is that for a game series that has a continuing story arc, and very clearly was made to last more than two games, it's a little frustrating that there hasn't been much mention of a direct sequel in five years. Yep, you've been anticapating a game sequel too. I feel your pain.
