I'm not going to waste time telling you about Bioshock. Instead, I'm going to mention that there's a demo for it on Live and for the love of God you should download it right now.

Seriously, go get it. NOW. Stop reading this immediately and go download.

Castor tells the truth, this demo is fantastic. For me it's lept the game up from 'vague interest' to 'oh sh*t i've got to buy this'

That's exactly how I feel. At first it looked really interesting and I was planning to rent it first, but playing the demo has convinced me to buy. I'm thinking of getting the limited edition so I can have a really cool big daddy figure.
Looks like just one more week!

I played the demo yesterday and loved it. Everything is so well made, the atmospere, the design, the eviroments...I can't wait for its release, it's one of my most wanted games.

Honestly, Bioshock doesn't appeal to me. I might change my mind after I play the demo, but we'll see.

Why would it not appeal to you? Seriously, why not?

No PC demo (yet), and that'd be the version I would buy. :

I'll prolly try the 360 demo soon enough. Thing interests ME, if only somewhat

Whelp, if the TRU by me doesn't have it, I'm commencing a full-on media blackout (ie I'm staying the hell away from 4chan) until I get the game next Tuesday and beat it.

I loved System Shock 1 & 2, and this looks good too. The demo was pretty awesome as well for this.

This is the best demo I've ever played, ever. The atmosphere, the graphics, the gameplay...if you own a 360, you have to buy this game. nN

I want someone with the PC version of the game to take a full-screen picture of that. I want it from an angle so you can see both the banner and the golden bust. And I want to make that my computer's wallpaper.

No, Resistance is more agaisnt Sony, while this is less against everything else and more GLORY TO THE SONY EMPIRE

either way the site is amusing.

That's hot. Really hot.

Also, in case anyone missed this, old Jack is all steamed up about the Bioshock ad being aired, during the ad break of a WWE episode.

gamepolitics.com/2007/08/...-bioshock/

Well done gramps. Let the kids watch the sweaty, oily men have a wrassle with each other, but heaven forbid there be any violent video games advertised during a show which involves people beating the crap out of each other. Applause all round.

Remarkably, the video game industry is running ads for games like BioShock on teen-intensive television programs

Jeez, Jack, it's called marketing. You can't stop that.

I just picked up my limited edition of the game. I had to wait a few days but it is totally worth the wait! It's a lot scarier than I thought it would be. Also loving the big daddy figure. Come on, 6 inch tall big daddy figure, how do you go wrong with that?

My brother brought the game, and so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Not exactly something for me to go "OMG SO FREAKIN' AWESOME, SO MUCH WIN, I LOVE THIS GAME, IT'S THE BEST EVAR" as some people have proclaimed.

But still, kinda enjoyable.

Kinda.

Normally, I can handle differing opinions on games. Not with Bioshock. This is a game wherein I will fight someone who hates it. Not just metaphorically or figuratively, but I will literally resort to fisticuffs and pugilism on the naysayers of this game. It'll be a Phil Ken Sebben style "Kick, punch, uppercut, uppercut, jab jab!" beatdown of Tyson-vs-Spinks proportions.

Irrational love? Yes, and quite convenient considering the name of Bioshock's developer.

Just warning y'all about my mindset in this thread. "Mild enjoyment" and well-reasoned "I didn't enjoy it" are safe, but venturing into "I hated it" or the dreaded "Halo 3 is gonna be better" territory is a hazardous quest indeed.

Tried the 360 demo. Really liked it.

Tried the PC demo. Ran rather well, until the bathysphere was supposed to come up, when my monitor insisted it was no longer getting a signal from the computer. Minutes of nothing but ambient sound later, I finally reset my computer. Fortunately, unlike those guys from NeoGAF there, I was not "BIOSHOCKED", but it doesn't look like BioShock will work here. Baaaah. A real shame, too, since mouse/keyboard > Xbox 360 controller for this particular genre...

Actually... I got used to the 360 controller. And I HATE console controls.

I like this game.

I like it alot.

I like the game alot, but I gotta tell you, I'm finding it to be very hard. And it's not like I'm a newb to FPS's, I've been playing them since the original Wolfenstein 3d. Just having a really hard time progressing to the point that I'm considering starting over on easy...yeah...I know.

Have you been capturing Adam from the little sisters, and getting new plasmids? That's pretty much the only way to make progress in this game on hard mode.

Just started playing it today on 360 and I'm loving it so far, a bit too easy at the moment but I can always change that.

The atmospear is built so well by it's tiniest details like old music and radio interference that I would have loved it without the gameplay, but the gameplay is far more exciting than any other FPS I've played.

A good contender for game of the year, but there's still Mass Effect and Metroid to contend with. 😛

I played it at my friends house and I was pretty s**t at it so I kept dying. I didn't enjoy it much. =x But if I get to play it again I'll probably be better and enjoy it more.
