Street Fighter 4
Development has just begun and the release of the game is more than a year away. No platforms are yet confirmed - a highly stylised animated concept trailer of Ryu and Ken fighting was shown, but no game footage.

Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice
A new character and new series starring a rookie lawyer. Phoenix Wright makes an appearance but is not the lead character. Made specifically for DS.

Lost Planet (PS3)
Avaialable early next year and will include all bonus characters from the PC version and extra downloadable content from the 360 version making it the complete package. Made possible with Blu-ray. 16 player online over the PSN.

Dark Void
A new sci-fi action-adventure IP. Trailer showed third-person and air-vehicle gameplay with a character wearing a steam punk jetpack, skydiving and landing in the cockpit of a gyroscopic aircraft, and then jumping and climbing through airbase fortesses.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD (Xbox Live Arcade)
The game will feature a spectator mode and is scheduled for a 2008 while the team try and get zero lag for the online mode. Also features stat tracking and widescreen. Original music from Street Fighter 2 will be used, plus remixed versions of all those tunes.

Wii Love Golf
From the Everybody's Golf team comes a cutesy golf sim, that looks slightly more technical than the PlayStation versions. Players can fade or draw the ball by twisting the Wii-mote when taking a swing.

At long last...Street Fighter 4. With the announcement of the new Bionic Commando, the only thing that could make this even bigger is the reveal of Megaman in SSB:B.

*prays*

I need more info. Who, aside from the obvious Ryu and Ken, is returning? The series has a giant cast of characters, after all; it'd put Mortal Kombat: Armageddon to shame if every SF1, SFA, SF2, SFEX and SF3 character got together into one game and duked it out, yes. Of course, new characters are also fairly important...

So who'll be the new villain, then? Bison is dead (canonically, anyway), and Gill, while very much alive and certainly available for a return, might not have to - SF3 was his thing, SF4 should be somebody else's. Somebody who's actually evil, this time.

You Tube version of the trailer for those who have trouble seeing Blue Gale link. Seeing the trailer make me wonder if the game gonna be 2D or 3D.

It looks to me like it could be a mixture of both. That is, if the trailer is meant to give any indication of style.

I'd love it if it were on the Wii.

That being said, despite the fancy cel-shading technique, it's pretty obvious that there are high-poly models hiding in there. I think a 360/PS3 release is far more likely.

It's just that I'd love it if it were on the Wii, is all.

Yea 360/PS3 release is pretty much confirmed without second thought. As for a Wii release though...has anyone played MK: Armageddon or DBZ: Tenkachi* for Wii? Like isn't it the trademark attacks that are motioned...everything is done by pushing a button? I'm trying to think if SF IV used motion technology...how would Super Combos be executed[assuming they're in this game].

DBZ: Yes. Amrageddon, Its out for Wii?!?!?!? I am BEHIND!

Yes, Trademark attacks are motion based, allowing for ridiculous times, I would videotape myself play Budokai Tencaiichi 2 but uhhh no XD.

Super Combos would be utterly ridiculous. I can't imagine someone trying a random Super Combo-like with say..Gouki, and then having to do Sungatsoshuken >> Yeah...no. I'd settle for doing a Shoryuuken.

>> Tatsumai senpyuuken would suck XD. Well no, a swing of your arm across the screen would work >> that would work vertically for Chun Li's one...prolly three swft jbs to teh screen to get the Hundred Hand slap moving...I'm sure they can think of ways to do them all...

Game will get you in shape yo xD.!

Haha yea man it came out for Wii in May I believe. SC would most def be insane. A Shoryuuken would indeed be nice. Sungatsoshuken? Not too sure who's that is, Akuma's as well perhaps? Yes i'm sure they'd think of ways for sure. The Wii is getting gamers in shape, man. lol

If it looks as pretty as SF2:HD, I shall be quite pleased. I know some people don't want parrying to be in this SF but I don't mind. As long as it doesn't make characters broken, I'm good. Now I hope this has a large enough cast, SF3: 3rd Strike turned me off because of the small cast and the fact I didn't like ANY of them. Bring back some of the Alpha cast...or how about...throwing some VS characters in there...like perhaps Lilith??

Lilith, eh. In that case why not just makes another Darkstalkers. 😛 Which could lead to Capcom vs. SNK 3. YESH!

Pfft. We'll get a NEW Darkstalkers game when Hell itself is frozen. Someone please wake me up at that time. I will willingly enter cryo-sleep for millenia, if it meant I got woken up for the release of a new Darkstalkers.

Also, Capcom, if you do any more Vs games, and in your infinite wisdom decide to include Morrigan, could you UPDATE HER FRIGGIN SPRITE?! The fact that Capcom Vs SNK 2's Morrigan was using her sprite from the PS1 era version of Darkstalkers absolutely disgusts me, especially considering Demitri got an updated sprite for SVC Chaos.

Capcom hasn't updated the sprites to any of it's characters in the VS series bar the Ryu, Ken, Chun Li (twice), Bison, Akuma...and I think that's it...and that was only in CVS1, though Chun Li in 2. All the SNK sprites were new I beleave, whereas the opposite happened in SVC: Chaos, all Capcom sprites were new while most SNK were old, since it was made by SNK Playmore.

And I seriously doubt Street Fighter 4 will have sprites at all, they pretty much perfected sprite animation in 3: Third Strike which cost them dearly, pretty much killing their hopes of Street Fighter and other 2D fighter franchises of theirs up until now.

What's more, if they want to compete with other fighting games today, let alone the popular genres of today, Street Fighter will have to adapt in a big way. 3D models, 2D gameplay is probably the closest they'll do, but even then, a major step for Street Fighter is what's required to compete, not just a graphical one.

gotta love the hado/chi/splatter in taht trailor. I hope they do something artistic gameplay wise too rather than just a new fighting system

Hahah yea what Robo said. In CvsSNK 2...like all the SNK characters pretty much got updates. I've yet to play SVC, but I really really want to. I suppose what Robo said on that could be true as well. I'm with what Gyser said though...Morrigan's sprite is crazy bad. XD! I sometimes lose when fighting against her, because my laughter seems to consume me. In all seriouness though, Capcom has been on a roll as of late[Okami(which the graphics in the teaser reminded me of), Dead Rising, Ace Attorney, etc] so i'm pretty confident in them making SF IV, simply put...The Best. I'd love for them to make it like SF EX...but using the graphics in that teaser and lighting fast gameplay. It can be done...how was KoF: MI anyway? It kinda looked good to me. 😛

KoF: MI 1 and 2 are okay, but they're rather annoying at the best of times, plus the visuals are terrible, and the VA's are worse. Even stranger is the alternate costumes, in which some characters look extremely different, to the extent that some change ethnicity. I think the first one played smoother than the sequel, able to pull off quick combos and link in specials, but the whole thing reminded me of the DBZ Budokai series (though I enjoyed that series).

Rumour has it that Dimps is making Street fighter 4 as well, which seems like a good idea to me, seeing as they're made up of ex Capcom and SNK employees.

Ahhh yea I heard some of the VAs in the first game. They were making fun of it on X-Play I believe. But I too liked the Budokai series, but i've noly played the 1st one and it wouldn't be fast enough for SF to me. I'm sure the other ones are faster though. As for Dimps. Yesh! I didn't know they were composed of ex-Capcom AND SNK employees. Wow. Score! :D

From Wikipedia:

Quote:

Dimps is an Osaka-based development studio with an additional office in Tokyo, Japan. Employing a staff of 218 people, it is known for developing such games as the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai trilogy for the PlayStation 2. It also co-developed Tales of the Tempest on the Nintendo DS with Namco Tales Studio. The company was founded by several former SNK employees.

Half right at least. 😛

The stat system on HD sounds really really awesome.

The background music of the video sounds alot like Bingo Highway.

I wish they'd say more about 4, though.

Wow...HD Remix actually looks worth purchasing. I'm assuming it has all the SF II characters, considering the mention of Cammy who wasn't available until one of the expansions[was it The New Challengers?]. If that's, the case Fei Long is in...which means one of two things.
1. I'm stealing my roomies Xbox 360 or 2. I'm stealing a 360 from the local video game retailer. :D As for 4...I like how it's underwraps, if they give out too muh too soon...people will die. It's true. Mmhmm.

It's Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo's code, so yes ALL the SF2 characters, to confirm, UDON, the artists who are redrawing all of the art and are responsible for the current Capcom comics, have already released sprite art for Cammy, T. Hawk, Bison, Sagat, and Akuma.

Ahh ok thanks for that Robo. Fei Long!!! It's on, man! It's coming out on PS Network too. Oh goody. Maybe I can pay my friend to get it. You know with the 10+ versions of SF II and the 2 or 3 versions of SF III, and the new hype around SF IV...i'm starting to feel for SF. It's pretty much not even in existant. SF II was the first SF. 😛

By the way, does anyone know what the term "zoning" would mean in relation to 2D and 3D fighters?

Someone used it as a reason for why Street Fighter couldn't work in 3D without any explanation as to why it wouldn't allow Street Fighter to be 3D.

Zoning is usually in regard to spacing and movement. As anyone can tell you, movement in 2D is very different from movement in 3D

(@robobotnik)

As assumed it might mean as much, which is silly because different doesn't mean worse.

My arguments are on Capcom's official forum, under the name Catkeeper, and by the by, I'm not trying to say I want Street Fighter to become Tekken OR EX when I say 3D. 😛

Well it depends, how much farther can they stretch the limits of 2D? I don't want SF to become a fast and insane paced fighter like Guilty Gear, Arcana Heart or the like. 3S was nice except at times it seemed a bit too animated...

(@hypersonic2003)

Arcana Heart...never heard of it. I'm going to look it up now. Haha! As for this "zoning" thing...we definitely don't want an EX game out of IV...EX is its own series and the main SF is its own. Capcom has to know this and they won't dare mess it up. Capcom's actually reliable as far as developing goes. More so than some other subdivision I dare not name. =X

The EX series was created by Arika, which is why none of there characters created for that series will return. Also, EX isn't a 3D fighter, just has 3D graphics. 😛

Indeed 3D grahpics not a 3D fighter. You got me there. I loved the characters from EX3. ShadowGeist, Skullomania, Garuda, and Volcano Russo owned with all kinds of awesomeness. Pullum Purina was sweet too. I didn't know thwy wouldn't be back...ever. Then again it has been over 7 years since EX3. But Nights is coming back...I don't doubt any series return to be honest.

Skullomania rocked, I'd gladly have him return in future titles, but dosn't look like that will happen. :(
