Resident Evil 0 being ported to the Wii? Source.

It might just be me, but I really can't see the point. Unless they're offering a lot more new content, I don't think I'm going to invest in this, since I've already got it for the Gamecube for a cheap price. Resident Evil 4:Wii was okay because it included the PS2 version's Seperate Ways, and I'd never even played the Gamecube original in the first place. That said, I really don't see how waggle controls could be enough to invest in it again. Then again, if they're changing the camera angle to reflect Resi 4...? Hmm.

So, who's gonna guess they'll end up porting the rest of the Resi Evil games to the Wii? I wouldn't mind seeing the REmake on it, despite what reasoning for 0... since the REmake was just so damn awesome in the first place. I wonder though... could we see remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 somewhere down the line in the same graphical vein as REmake and 0? That I would LOVE. I mean surely, Capcom couldn't be stupid enough to attempt porting the Playstation versions again to the Wii...

...could they?

OMG if they ever remade Resident Evil 2-3 with even REmake/RE0 graphics, they have my money already.

Thats cool, I guess. I probably won't bother getting it since I too, have it for the Gamecube already. If they do happen to change it up a lot, I might give it a second thought.

Uh...

Gamecube games run on the Wii.

If Capcom have finally snapped and started re-releasing every damned game they have, at least give us a tightened up graphics version of 2. The world commands it.

I'm a RE fanatic and cannot tolerate 0.

I thought it was okay. Nowhere near my favorite (Resident Evil 2 holds that spot, with REmake/Resident Evil 4 being up there.) I don't think I played it like I played the others, I think I only beat it once then didn't play over again.

0's a fantastic game, it's just the item system left a lot to be desired.

But again, if this is a straight up port of the GCN game with waggle controls mixed in, Capcom can forget about getting my money.

I want to kill myself. This is pathetic. Not only is Resident Evil 0 easily the worst game in the main series, but it's not even that old yet. Why the hell are they making a Wii version? If anything, they should remake Resident Evil 2. That would sell like gangbusters.

A REmake 2 & 3: Escape from Raccoon City cross title amalgamation is fine, too. I'd like to play as Leon and run across Nemesis, or Jill accidently bumping heads with William Birken. REtcon ho!

I think they're just trying to find reasons to justify not making a Wii version of Resident Evil 5.

Check it out:

Resident Evil 0 confirmed as Japan Wii exclusive
Thursday 28-Feb-2008 10:31 AM Capcom confirms a Wii port of Resi 0 is in the works, but it's for Japan only
11 Comments
Capcom has told us it has no plans to release Resident Evil Zero for Wii anywhere near American or European shores.

For the immediate future at least, it appears that the port of the GameCube prequel will only appear in its native country of Japan. So all you Resident Evil die-hards better get ready to do some importing.

As we reported yesterday, the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu confirmed that a version of Resident Evil Zero was in the works for the Wii. The report added that the port would only use the Wii Remote.

Capcom has told us that the port is indeed happening. But that it's only planned for release in Japan. Gutted or don't you really care? Sound off below.

so much for that coming here.

Big "meh".

Though Wiimote controls would suck with the fixed camera atmosphere of Zero.

Thank God. I think they know how horribly it would sell here.

They did something right. Good. And totally agree with Wes. No RE5 on Wii=Nonsense >O.

Yeah, they need to hurry up and remake 2 and ..well no 3 pissed me off. Nemesis was a damn annoyance. REmake 2 and we can talk.

I dunno. The RE2 Tyrant "Mr. X" was an annoyance, he was unkillable and stood in the way of hallways (most annoyingly the 3rd floor walkway) and you needed to take a hit. With Nemesis it's a clear fight or flight thing and the fear of trying to keep your cool, go the right way and escape him was what made the Nemesis stalker the only un-annoying one in the franchise, to me anyway.

Super Zombie and Lisa Trevors in REmake are, obviously, the most annoying stalkers. They can both go to hell.

Lis Trevor never really did enough stalking to warrant being called annoying. The first time you meet her all you do is practically leave the cabin and be done with her. Second time is slightly annoying but considering the circle design of the catacombs its extremely easy to avoid her and get to the door for escape. The final time you meet her at the coffin and four stones however she is a SUPREME $#*%*. One hit essentially equals a kill when you're pushing those stones. I don't know if you could shoot her to death, but the amount of bullets it took me one time seems to suggest you can't.

Unless you're referring to Umbrella Chronicles. In which case, er quite.

Super Zombie? Where was that from? #o.o# Is it the Tyrant for Code Veronica?

Nemesis > Mr. X by far. As Craig said, Mr. X was annoying as he completely blocked up hallways, whereas at least with Nemesis you could get around. Mr. X was irritating; Nemesis was pants wetting stuff. I'll never forget the first time he smashed through that RPD window with a rocket launcher in tow... <3

Plus: "STAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRS!!!"

Perhaps he meant the Crimson Heads.

REmake had a mode where Forrest would follow you the entire game with a bomb strapped to him which would explode if you killed him.

RE:DC had a super zombie, too... but it didn't follow you very far.

Also, as Pach, the RPD window smash + rocket launcher made me crap myself.

Yo.....ok that was a redeeming moment in RE3

"I'll never forget the first time he smashed through that RPD window with a rocket launcher in tow... <3"

Around 11 pm, years ago. I reach that part, and I'm just DYING to get somewhere to take a break (but then I get there, and know I can keep going)-and that summaish blasts through like Captain Falcon.

I was so stunned I -literally- I dove out of the way cause I was freaked out so bad. Yanked the controller out the system, froze the game and bashed my head against the coffee table. Yeah, I was miffed. Didn't save too far though, but that part still has me on edge.

The hell with REmake and Forrest because he was damed annoying too. Lisa Trevor never killed me in one hit 😮 And I used the stone method of killing her too. Maybe I just got good with running and dodging and plugging her full of HOT MEGNUM LEAD!

Oddly, I dun remember Mr X in RE2. Really dun. Remember Birkin...and all forms of G-viral hell...Ada failing...nope,. no Mr X. :o? RE2 may need to be replayed now.

I loved Mr. X, made me jump more than anything in the RE series. When you first met him as he gets dropped down in that capsule. You take him out, then you leave and go through that hallway, then he busts right through. lol Got me hell of good the first time I played that part. XD
