They're really testing my patience on this one, I bought my copy of BF2142 and after spending 2 and a half hours with problems of trying to get it to install and run correctly, I try to boot up my first game on Singleplayer; only for it to crash with no explanation of errors. It just sends me to the desktop, only letting me get 30 seconds of playing the game at the max. I'm running the settings on low, but it still croaks, although during the time it DOES run, it runs smoothly and fine, which confuses me even more.

My specs being:
AMD Athlon 3.2Ghz
Radeon 9950 Pro
512 RAM

They all met minimum, so what the hell is going on? These crashes are rather annoying (only happen in gameplay). Anyone got any suggestions?

I blame bad programming.

Better check for updates or upgrades.

From what I've seen EA really doesn't give a crap about problems with BF:2142. Hence why I'm not buying it until I can get the demo working, thus beign almost assured that the actual game will work.

True; if Battlefield 2 could barely run with one gig, 512MB for the sequel isn't going to cut it.

Incidentally, my Dad's been getting addicted to the Xbox 360 Battlefield 2 lately... (I mean, he couldn't be playing the PC version; I'm the only person in my family with a computer anywhere NEAR running that game, and I'm in college!)

RAM does seem a likely suspect... Would anyone recommend I get 1Gb of DDR2 RAM?

2 Gigs.

BF2142 isn't worth it though. Unless you never played BF2. Because from what I learned playing hte demo, its not that different. Little more balanced though.

Spyware are programs that rifle through your bookmarks, installed programs, and cookies and either mine for data or install ad programs.

As far as I know there is no malware present in BF2142. Just billboards with products on them. It's not like FPS's are immersive anyway.
