My sister had her birthday party last night and one of her friends brought over a DDR game for PS2, with two dance pads. It was blast, and it really makes me want to get something like that for GC (I don't have a PS2). However, the only thing I've been able to find is DDR Mario Mix, which seems to feature mainly Mario music that, quite frankly, I don't want to dance to. Plus it's very expensive at all the online stores I've looked at. Are there any other DDR games for GC or some sort of off-brand versions out there? I just want something where I can dance to some decent songs with my friends and have fun.

Only Mario Mix (which is currently not available in US due to lawsuits), you'll need a PS1/2 or X-Box to get your DDR on.

*Has urge to do just that right now*

When I was in the US I tried to buy the game for Tricia, the people at Game told me that there was a legal loophole which caused it so that there was a recall. I'm only going on what I was told in-store, but I checked Ebay and any copies which were sold before the recall are fetching +$100

Really? You serious? Maybe this is why I couldn't find Mario Mix anywhere in game stores.

I know it's available in the UK though.

Apparently, after some searching it's because of the pad manufacture and the fact it had sold far more units than anticipated, so it sold out instantly, and for some reason Nintendo/Konami discontinued it, trying to find a better plan for production.

Long story short: yes. It's stopped. It's 2 months later and neither company has officially owned up for it, but no stores have it and secondary sellers are bumping the price up.

I'm glad I didn't decide to go with Mario DDR now.
