Shonen Jump brings us news about a Dissidia: Final Fantasy sequel titled Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy. Get ready for more “dramatic progressive actionâ€, that’s the game’s genre.
Kain from Final Fantasy IV and Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII are confirmed as playable characters. Right now, its unknown if the hodgepodge of Final Fantasy heroes and villains from Dissidia: Final Fantasy will return in the sequel.
Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy is a PSP game and slated for 2011 in Japan.
I don't see why we can't have three or more characters from each FF.
That being said, I may just be looking for a reason to get Tifa in. <3

I'm excited for this as long as Zidane is still there, he is my favorite FF character ever, although I like that Kain is in this one.

Dissidia site has the TGS trailer (one of 'em).
Another trailer that was shown behind closed doors exists, and confirms Tifa Lockhart will be in the lineup.

Very nice. The first was pretty fun for the most part. I probably will get this aswell for just being a huge FF fanboy and getting to see a bunch of characters that I love again

Huh. World map has a strikingly similar appearance to the first Final Fantasy's world map. I can see Earth Cave, Mount Gulg(u Volcano), the desert around Mirage Tower, Crescent Lake, the forest that surrounds the Elf castle where I would grind Ogres until I had enough gold (gil, now) to afford all the Silver equipment (Mythril, as of the remakes... and no longer available in Elfheim due to being game-breaking at that stage).
OOH. I approve of this addition of Laguna.
Laguna, Zidane, and KH Cloud, I will be purchasing the hell out of this!

Aerith is also confirmed to be in, but only as an assist (as the trailer reveals). And ONLY available (apparently) to those who download the new demo (which is premium content) and import the demo save into the full retail release. The demo also contains a self-contained prequel story mode (Prologus) that won't be available on the retail release.

For somebody who worships all things Final Fantasy (seriously they should make FF into a full blow religion complete with holidays) this has to be one of the greatest games I have ever seen previewed. The only way this game could get any better is if they do away with the overblown dialogue from the first game, but judging from the trailers it seems that may be wishing for too much. Either way Ima getting this as soon as it releases!
