Selling my old Dreamcast is definitely one of my greatest regrets, so I'm quite happy at this development (even in the case that I miss the opportunity again.).

I'm actually in the market for a new Dreamcast. Well to be specific I'm looking for a Japanese one so I can play those crazy/weird games that never left Japan. This isn't what I was looking for, but I think its pretty cool to see some NEW Dreamcasts on sale. You have to wonder how much are still floating out there. Does Sega still have warehouse full of them? Seems a little strange to finally send them out to get sold ... 8 years after they stopped making them.

I got mine in Christmas of 99 and it still works like brand new. Too bad it doesn't get much love anymore. I actually feel kinda ashamed for only having 4 games for Dreamcast. SA1 & 2 and Tony Hawk 1 & 2.

Wouldn't it be funny if Sega was planning this all from the beginning, before Dreamcast's HP was reduced to zero?

I know what you mean, man. I only bought SA1, SA2 and Soul Calibur for my Dreamcast, whereas I rented quite a few other Dreamcast games. It sucks that it turned out like this since the Dreamcast had SO many tight games that were released on it, like both of the Marvel Vs Capcom games, Jet Set Radio, Power Stone etc.

Consider it the end result of being young, reckless, naive, and poor. These days, I'd be hard pressed to sell any of my consoles (and games for that matter) unless I've been guaranteed backwards compatibility (and I still might not sell it for the sake of just having it).

I seem to have a small Dreamcast problem and I don't really know where to go with it. So I'll see if anyone has a solution here (and I really like having conversations about the Dreamcast)
I've had my Dreamcast since 2000; it works almost perfectly. But when I bought Shenmue, about 2 years ago, I loaded the game up and watched the intro. When the load screen came up, we had a power outage in the house and the Dreamcast shut off. A few minutes later I power it up to play Shenmue, the Dreamcast wouldn't load up past the intro. I tried a few more times but it would always stop at the same spot. The Dreamcast will play every other game absolutely perfect, so I bought a used DC to see if it would work, and it did! So does anyone know why my original DC won't play Shenmue?
I'm not really dieing to know since I can play Shenmue, but this problem has been bugging me for a while.

But yea man...I hate that I bought into the PS2 thing...and like showered it with games. I mean i've got like 10 games for DC, but I should totally have WAAAY more. That was like...the arcade in your home for real. So many near perfect ports of great arcade games and just original titles too. By far my favorite system. Will probably always be too. Never had any trouble out of it...works just perfect. And you know what Beugy...you may be on to something. Sega had this planned...they knew the PS2 would aid in its downfall. So they figured, "let's die". "Then when the PS3 comes out and tanks...we'll stop it from ever rising by re-releasing brand new mint condition Dreamcasts! MUHAHA!" o.o

And Nega X...I hear ya man. I'm so pissed I don't have my SNES or 64 anymore. That SNES had the greatest football ever on it too. Darn! And Top Gear[which is a mighty fine racer might I add]...and Turtles In Time. *dies* Oh no...it's a nightmare. I'm totally keeping all the consoles I have now though...no doubt about it, my friend. And Abac...about your Shenmue problem with the original Shenmue, that's got me stumped. If anything I would've thought it was the disc that got messed up, but when you said it works on the used/nonoriginal DC there goes that theory. Nah, 2000 was when I first joined this place. I was born in Australia and I've lived here (particularly Western Australia) for pretty much all of my life so far. Anyway, enough of that crap. The DREAMCAST'S where this thread's at!

Of my SNK vs Capcom data, my SA2 Data (luckily I had that stored somewhere else) my MvC 2 data..Soul Caliber......I mean GODAWFUL amounts of time and skill gone in one fell swoop. Idiot took the wrong controller and there went my life.....I cant even ..AUGH,. RE2...Dino Crisis! Jeezus I wanna play them all, but I get so MAD every time I even LOOK at it...u_u Least I still have the SA2 data and all 180 emblems, or Ida had to kill someone....

And that psycho chao that won all my races for me xD. Possibly the only way Id get the emblems for SA2 again if I needed to. Hence why I wont get it for GC..

xD! Wow man...that does suck! I'm not laughing at the fact that this happened...just your way of putting your frustration into words. Sounds so much like me. Really though...sorry man. I guess you could take it as a whole new level of replayability, huh?
