Whoaaaa! Golden Sun DS. Will be buying. Galaxy 2 will be buying...once I playthrough[and get] Galaxy 1. New SMB Wii...sounds interesting. It's going to be hard as hell taking classes now...knowing all these announcements are happening as i'm sitting in a Physics Lab...trying to work up equations as well as muster up the courage to talk to the cutie three rows down. >_< Too...much...stuff! As for my E3 stuff...i'm following Bayonetta and NMH 2 pretty hardcore, of course. But wow...so glad to hear Ninty has got some great stuff coming.

I might get Galaxy 2 after getting around to playing Galaxy 1..... anyway, it's good to see Nintendo had a good showing (as always) at this year's E3. Also, a new Monkey Island game makes Rishi one very happy man. Even my mummy likes that franchise!
Oh, one more thing: <3 @ Sam & Max

So...you missed Ninty's conference last year? LOL! Nah I mean...I didn't even see this year's and I can tell it was better than last year's. But oh man...so forgot about Sin and Punishment. Greatness! Year! Ever! Anyone see the Mod Nation Racers thing? Awesome! But my racing title will MOST def be Gran Turismo 5. Did they still manage to not mention a release date, though? u_u Polyphony Digital and their love for making quality racing titles. I'm like...beyond any level of hype i've ever experience right now. Ridic!

New Mario Bros. Wii? Fantastic! I've never liked any of the 3D platformers in the franchise, and New Super Mario Bros. DS was so comparatively refreshing.

Still, no Kid Icarus, F-Zero, or Star Fox is a little saddening.

Ain't that the truth. So want to see what's coming along with that new Star Fox. And Kid Icarus...something tells me that was a lie...they're aren't making one. Or weren't planning it atleast, but after seeing the huge excitement over it, it might happen. Maybe...

And if you own a PS3 and don't own FF7, it's supposed to be released on PSN (US) today.

That applies to moi. 😛 I plan on trying out...like all the FFs...but the mention of so many games at E3...is seriously going to like...break me. Atleast downloadable games'll always be there. Heck I still haven't got WipeOut XL. lol

Woot, new Metroid!!!!!!!!!! With them showing Adam alive, I wonder if this is a prequel to the original or if this is after Fusion and it's just another flashback about Adam. Also, sweet, looks like we'll finally get a Metroid with full voice acting even for Samus! Also, I've never played Sin and Punsihment, but after seeing the video, I may have to dl the original and get the sequel as well! Finally, the Mario videos look awesome particularly the M&L one!

Looks like Nintendo's on a roll! When does Ubisoft have it's day, I hoping that they might have some info on BG&E2.

Most significant:

Natal. I was blown away by the complexity of its capabilities. It probably won't be a major factor until next gen, but if it comes standard with the next console it could be the biggest leap in console gaming since consoles started, and this is from a person who doesn't like the idea of dancing as control. What impressed me most was its ability to (or so they claim) recognize and identify people and drawings.

Nintendo had the most impressive game library, but of the 3 big Wii announcements only NSMB is coming this year. I hope it has online, and the 3rd and 4th playables are more interesting than toads. How about Wario and Waluigi, or Peach, or a Mii? SMG2 is welcome, but it's hard to tell whether it's a new game or a level pack. Nintendo needs to get some new diverse franchises though, because honestly the only reason these games were big announcements is that they are sequels of great series. Metroid, for example, would be just another sci-fi game trailer if I don't know who Samus was.

The polar opposite of that is what Sony did, with only 1 interesting game, but wow, project trico is gorgeous, emotionally moving, and unique. I have no idea if it will be as good mechanically as it is artistically, but it kind of made Nintendo's sequelness embarrassing. And yet again this won't be coming this year.

So, Microsoft won the intriguing tech and "next gen head start" categories.

Nintendo won the most actual games I want category, and had the only such game scheduled for 2009, NSMBW.

Sony won the most amazing single trailer category.

Project Natal was indeed glorious. But you know...some of the stuff they showed in the promo video had to have been fake...atleast a little. The scanning of that dude's skateboard and junk. Nah...totally wouldn't happen. Not yet, atleast...I don't think. And when they were talking to the virtual dude...that's creepy as all get out. Surely the goal is for the end product to be able to perform like the ways showed, but currently...no way. Besides...how much is that schick going to cost? Like motion capture tech. ain't cheap! 😛

As for who won what...the great thing about this E3. We, the gamers, won. This E3 is so so....SOOOOOOOO much better than last year's. It doesn't matter all that much to me about the winners of so and so categories...the show all around has been wonderful. Finally...

Kratos in Soul Calibur Broken Destiny. http://kotaku.com/5276751...s-in-the-new-soulcalibur

Awesome.

This marks the first time I have actually been excited about a new Soul Calibur. I think Kratos would be a better fit for Mortal Kombat, but still, the idea of shredding the cast of a major fighting series with the God of Badass is awesome.

Sony's motion capture tech was also pretty impressive, taking what they started with EyeToy, what the Wii can do, and the power of the PS3 could be something special.

With all this Motion stuff coming out we could have a lot of incredibly interactive games on the way.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow official site and trailer
- For Xbox 360 and PS3, developed by newcomer Mercurysteam and, surprisingly, aided by Kojima Productions.
- Looking kinda God of War there.
- And, of course, Capt. Jean Luc Picard narrating as MOTHERF'N CAPT. JEAN LUC PICARD.

---

E3 Kingdom Hearts 358/2 US Debut Trailer
- English dubbed... lip-synching is pretty bad, hopefully it won't be in the final ala KH re:COM.
- Xion prounounciation. It's Marlushia all over again.
- Dated for release on September 29, 2009 (I feel like I've posted this exact same thing before?).

This is kinda related to E3 since it was heavily promoted there, also I figured that it would be a waste to create another topic.

Brutal Legend in trouble?

LOS ANGELES - A lawsuit filed by Activision may keep Jack Black from becoming a "Brutal Legend" later this year.

Activision Entertainment Holdings Inc. sued game developer Double Fine Productions Inc. on Wednesday to try to stop the release of "Brutal Legend" by rival Electronic Arts.

The lawsuit, filed in Santa Monica, Calif., on Wednesday, claims Double Fine failed to deliver "Brutal Legend" on time. The suit also claims the firm then offered the completed game to EA.

"Brutal Legend" is scheduled for release in October. It features Black as a heavy-metal roadie transported to a mythical ancient world to fight evil.

EA has been heavily promoting the game at this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. A gigantic banner of Black's character, Eddie Riggs, is hanging outside the convention's venue.

The lawsuit claims Activision paid Double Fine about $15 million to develop "Brutal Legend," but the studio missed a key deadline last year. The suit claims Double Fine then said it would need another nine months and $7 million to complete the game.

Activision and Double Fine negotiated to try to keep the game on track, but no agreement was ever reached, according to the court filing. Activision contends it never relinquished its rights to the game and that Double Fine improperly transferred "Brutal Legend" to EA.

The lawsuit states that Activision has suffered "irreparable harm" and will lose not only the game, but also the ability to sell downloadable content based on "Brutal Legend" if the release isn't stopped.

A phone message left at Double Fine's headquarters wasn't returned Thursday. An e-mail message sent to an EA publicist was also not immediately returned.

Activision Entertainment Holdings is the former company known as Vivendi Universal Games and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Santa Monica-based Activision Blizzard Inc. The company has numerous top game franchises in its roster, including the "Call of Duty" and "World of Warcraft" series.

EA, based in Redwood City, Calif., is also a gaming heavyweight, with rights to the popular "Madden NFL," "Medal of Honor" and "The Sims" franchises.

Activision were shelving Brutal Legend before EA picked up the rights, iirc, so hopefully this'll just fall through.

Activision and EA seemed to swap roles in the industry over the last two years.

Yea I never realized how big Activision made it...til they showed figures at E3. It's because they're joint with Blizzard. Sole reason! =P

oh yeeeah.... didn't anyone mention it? Well, there it is.

EDIT:

This was the artwork that was shown behind closed doors at Miyamoto's table conference during E3. It can be downloaded off Nintendo's official E3 press kit website. This is the new Zelda that will debut on the Wii sometime next year. Notice the lack of Master Sword.

Interesting art.

About the Koopa Kids being back, that would be so nice. When was the last time we saw them? Bowser Jr sucks and should go vanish into videogame lore or...something. Wonder how much potential sales will go when people hear about this?

Natal...looks absolutely awesome, especially the Milo demo. EXCEPT...Remember who presented it.

Molyneaux has a tendancy to...well, lie. Sure, he doesn't always *lie*, but just look up his pre-release hype of the Fable series of games. Fables 1 and 2 were both great games, sure, but...they were great games, not mind-blowingly-advanced games.

Natal seems kind of like EyeToy, except EyeToy was a lot less gimmicky. I don't know if I want to get one for my 360 though. I'd be a little weirded out if every time I walked into my room, "Hello, SX. Welcome back! You seem a little down. Is everything okay?" 😛

It does seem to have the same shortcoming that EyeToy did, though...no buttons. Not having any sort of controller at all was very limiting to EyeToy. I think I like the prototype Sony showed better, though I dunno that I want to get that, either.

Between the two, Natal looked more fun. Also, if anyone noticed, the skateboard scanning demo was fake. Either that, or it has predictive software to tell what's underneath your hands, because when the player scanned his skateboard, his fingers weren't on the scanned image, but were clearly in front of the board. It's still an interesting concept, something I'd really like to see Microsoft pull off.

Molyneux doesn't lie as much as he doesn't do what other developers do and makes promises far too early in development. If he didn't hype things up so early then he wouldn't be any different to anyone else, allmost all games start out as something much bigger that originally planned, or even really different, then things are wittled down until they can actually be realised.

That said Milo is apparently a lot of smoke and mirrors, and is operated by a guy behind a curtain, andd doesn't respond to words spoken, just the tone they're spoken in.

"take off your shirt"

"That Is An Improper Way To Spea--"

"DOO EET!!"

Eh, I'm not exactly convinced this Natal technology is going to fly. However, at some point we're going to have to drop the controller interface... and when that day comes, I will weep. And then, sometime in the not-too-distant future I will come upon on old arcade unit of Street Fighter II in some back alley cafe, and pop in a buck fifty (inflation, natch) for a round... show the kids how we oldsters used to rock M.Bison in the good ol' days.

At which point, one of them will sound off:

"You mean you have to use your HANDS!? That's like a baby's toy!"

*sigh*

XDXD! I'd take that cabinet if I were you...psh, for a buck fifty to play[inflation sucks indeed] a round i'm sure no one would even realize it was gone. And considering you have to use your hands and all. But yea...i'm not convinced by this Natal stuff...my roommate is like freaking out about it...thinking it's going to be all that they showed us at E3. Ha...how naive. Poor guy. It's going to be weird having no controller though...like...that might be when I stop going forward and just replay all of my old stuff and buy new...old stuff. We gotta keep it alive, guys!

*steps down from the podium*
