What I've always loved about MvsC is that it made me appreciate and enjoy characters I normally wouldn't. For instance, my main lineup consists of Spencer, Super-Skrull, and Deadpool (whom I thoroughly enjoyed beforehand). The cast list is far more diverse than I expected.
Luckily I was able to pick up the collectors edition, which is gorgeous for only 10 dollars more. Love the small comic that came with it, too. Unfortunately, I can't use my free DLC until March 15th. =(
Now, Capcom, just add these characters as DLC please;
Will (Dark Void)
Falcon (Power Stone)
Nightcrawler (Marvel)

Alright. Chiming in. I've been playing this for what, 3 days straight now. I'm in love with this game to the point where I'm sure there's a new DLC that will say Will's love child.
Lets overview.
Pach: I understand your initial frustration with button commands, but CT hit the nail on the head. Assigning a button to a special move is a very bad idea. Yeah you lose a Fierce action if you were to do that, and then you run the risk of hyper pressing that button when in the heat of battle, and nothing happening since you can't fire off multiple special moves off at once.(Thank god, Got tired of UniSpam in MvC 2).
This is MUCH simpler than the days of SF Alpha and X-Men CotA. There's only truly 3 main control commands you need to know, and that's Down-Downforward-Forward, Forward-down-downforward and the forward-to-back half circle (Yeah I know there's some top half ones but no one uses Magneto like that....)
This is a great introduction to all the older games (if you went backwards), the more I think about it. Anything else I can say CT has already said.
Now
1) Dante is bonkers, I didn't think I'd play as him, but during my collection of every ending and playing each character 30 times--holy hell I got sucked into the masterful craziness of Dante. Now I have a great rotating base of 13 to play as.
2) She Hulk is a BEAST! OMFG Love her!
3) X-23 is great. I thought she was gonna be lame, but they did a great job in mixing up the movelist for her.
4) GET. RID. OF. HSIEN-KO! I hate hate hate hate her.
5) I wanna break Tron. Horribly. That hyper stamina crap really goes too damn far with her life. Even with She Hulk hammering her, Tron STILL survives.
6) Haven't played as Phoenix much more than the first 5 missions, but her moves are not bad. But they coulda threw Emma in. I really believe that.
7) Uhh who's completed all 10 missions for any character? 'Cause I quit after attempting every chars, and I swear to god whoever thought Arthur was a good idea will be assassinated by weeks end. I am proud that I got over 16-0 missions done, but that's all I'm gonna do, them things get WAAAAAAYYYYY to complex.
Trish is eh. Same as C-Viper. Both really eh. On the Marvel side, Thor needs to be removed immediately and uhh...lemme think. Does anyone really think that Dormammu is just a bit lame as a fighter?
9) 15 guesses Cyclops appears as DLC -.- After playing this game for so long, it just FEELS wrong not to have Cyke in it.

Seriously though, I've had no problems with them at all, only balance issues I have are really with Akuma and probably Dante or Sentinel.
Also my mate's a dick with Spiderman, just swings around and doesn't drop. Good thing Ammy's awesome Supers flood the screen.

I'm glad you took this back, otherwise there is a high chance we could never speak again.
In all honesty, I don't really care for her, either. I guess her move set is a little too predictable, or maybe too eccentric. I can't figure out which. It might also just be personal taste, but I wasn't a fan of her in Darkstalkers, either.
As long as Spencer's in the game.
I've been using her online a lot.(they give you a month free if you join Xbox live) I love that her Gong can protect you from projectile spam and send it right back most of the time (doesn't work on beams and Storm`s whirlwinds just go through them completely and hit you), meaning they'll have to come to you(most characters I've fought, anyway). You can even throw something over there without worrying about a projectile war before you have to hit the gong again.
I use her with Captain America's Shield Slash and Tron's Bandit Boulder. I was planning to play keepaway from behind the gongs shockwave using my own projectiles and the assist projectiles but I always forget to use assists in the heat of battle and I'm kind of apprehensive about it since they can just SHINKUU HADOUKEEEN or PROTON CANNON and a bunch of my health and half my partners health is gone. 
Most matches usually come down to either me forcing them to approach or me being forced to approach (Sentinel's mouth beam is too fast for me Gong...) and trying to catch them with my ranged attacks (still need to get used to using them and her anti-air normals) and go into a combo. And if you have a moment you can just go "Screw this" and use her Super Armor Hyper to just Dash up to the opponent (her dash makes her disappear for a moment and re-appear somewhere else so you shouldn't worry about them hitting you with projectiles too much). Results after doing this vary.They either move around the screen a lot and I have to chase them down somehow or they dash-away and crouch-block when they get to the corner and when I try to command grab I usually miss, they jump away and by that time the super's almost worn off anyways.

Hahaha so i'm not the only one that forgets about assists, huh? It's probably because i'm so used to MvC1. Where the assist in that game are given to you in limited numbers right before the match begins. I totally forget my actual team members are assists. D'oh! I must say after finally playing it on a Dualshock 3 the other night, I totally enjoyed the game. Versus earlier when I tried using a 360 pad. GROSS! Still don't see myself buying the game[nothing against it...I just have others im more excited for]. Either way...so by end of spring...who are we expecting to see as DLC? 😛 Venom and Cyclops from Marvel I say. And...hmmm...Megaman[some form] and Frank West from Capcom. Yep. Just you watch.

Yeah, suffice to say I'm not picking this up until I've gotten Duke's purchase out of the way and we know some more about the DLC.
Cyclops is gonna be there. Its made for his corny butt. Prolly Cyke and Mega :O I dunno why Gambit is not there yet either...He's had major development these last 4 years.
So I had decided on a Dante, Deadpool and Hsien-Ko team. After playing around though, it's become a Trish, Deadpool and She-Hulk team, and I'm thinking about swapping Deadpool out too. As much as I like the characters in my original team, I'm having so much fun with Trish and She-Hulk. Trish has been a good lead, with She-Hulk amazing at mopping up remnants.
Four more days until they release the DLC... for more days.

Psx: Ok. I know that list is not endorsed by Capcom, but I'm going to point two things out.
1) Yes. 92.18 percent of people DON'T know good Marvel Characters. I had hope for the list at the beginning...then I saw Ghost Rider and deliberately screamed at my screen.
2) I seriously....seriously...better see an Iceman DLC. This is imperative. In fact, they need to do a Fire and Ice Combo with Iceman and Ken damnit ><!
3) Really? Thanatos?
4) Capcom voters are great. They kept Guile AWAAY. Never wanna see Guile. Ever. Kinda shocked Adon isn't on this list (>> << Jackal rules all.)
I got the Special Edition. I know I could spend my points to buy them, but that defeats the purpose of getting it--though the comic is cute. ;p
DL: there are users in the forums absolutely screaming blue murder to get Ghost Rider in, it's hilarious. XD
