They have released some of the results (schedule is on the first page).
Interesting dibs:
Never heard of a game called WTF or something like Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army (PS2)
Sonic 360 is a candidate in the Dubious Honors
Discuss.
Sonic '06 and Red Steel both being in poor-games candidates - Red Steel in several categories! - makes me go ><, even if I expected it for Sonic '06. Both of them look fun, though. Damn.
And as for the rest of the nominees:

WTF is short for Work Time Fun. It is a game for the PSP that is similar to the Warioware series but it is not really as fun and it is monotonous. =p Also called Baito Hell in Japan.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army is a spin-off from Atlus flagship MegaTen RPG series. I don't own it though I heard it was somewhat of a action RPG with some text Adventure bits mixed in.

Actually, I heard some pretty negative things about Red Steel from other people who have played it also. I think it is also pretty low in the gamerankings scale.
So yeah, there seems to be a difference in games looking fun and then actually playing them.

I heard it was somewhat of an action RPG set in turn-of-the-century Japan with some Pokemon-styled "gathering" bits mixed in.
Fixed for glory. Granted, most games in that series tend to rely heavily on demon catching/raising gameplay that it's pretty much synonimous with Shin Megami Tensei.
Chances are they won't mention Pathologic (most imaginatiove game this year) and will therefore fail.
