Halo 2 took a crap load home...

Best Voice Performance - Male--Halo 2 - David Cross
AH BUH WUH?! Seriously, WHAT?! Peter Fonda, Sam Jackson, William Fichtner, James Woods and Chris Bellard in GTA: SA all had far better voiceover work than David Cross's sleepwalk through Halo 2.
That's the essence of popularity contests; majority rules, no matter if the award is deserved (not to knock against Cross though; he's got some funny lines).
Legend Award--Ralph Baer
He's finally recognized...
For some reason this year I didn't watch GPhoria. I did the previous year. Hmm...Maybe I can catch the reruns.
G4TechTV-- What happens when you send a truckload of casual gamers to do hardcore gamer's jobs.

Best Boss--Halo 2 - Scarab Battle
WHAT. THE. CRAP.
It wasn't even a freakin' BOSS!
Knock off a few normal enemies and shoot a sphere-thingy.
I would MUCH rather have seen the giant fish-beast from Resident Evil 4 win this.
It's not TechTV anymore. They ditched THAT thing long ago.
The place hasn't been quite as good since, if you ask me. First of all, the loss of The Screen Savers was outrageous (no, Attack of the Show doesn't count, nor does post-Leo-and-Patrick Screen Savers). Second of all, WTD is The Whip Set, and why is it on a channel about video games? Get that crap off my TV and slap it back on MTV where it belongs. Third, it's pretty sad that, of all the shows TechTV had, X-Play is the only one left that's worth watching (still like that show, though).
In its defense, it has SOME nice shows (I like Icons and Cinematech, for instance), but a lot of it isn't aimed at my demographic in the slightest. That, and they had this countdown show counting down the best portable games (I'm assuming it was on the market right now and not "best ever", since anything pre-GBA was nonexistent), and were tossing in camera info in the middle of it? The heck? Separate those, please, I didn't tune in to that show to learn about cameras (seeing as I'm not in the market for one)...
So yeah, it's gone pretty far downhill since, and I was half-expecting GPhoria to be along the lines of that SpikeTV show everyone hated. Maybe it was or wasn't... at least Alyx's VA got recognition. I mean, she's practically a nobody, but man, she's a GOOD nobody, with a good chance to be a somebody after THAT stellar performance. The fact she's still got it in Aftermath is only a good sign.
And just where, pray, is Devil May Cry 3? Or Freedom Force Verus the Third Reich? Or Darwinia? Psychonauts?

i am disappointed at how many halo 2 got. i personally don't think halo 2 is that great of a game (mind you, i hate first person shooters). I'd like to see more RPG's in the mix.
I agree with Halo 2 's multiplayer award, I play that crap everyday and love it... but best sound design? Best soundtrack? David Cross does do a good job of grunting and saying "Capture the Flaaag" though.
Oh plus I finally bought God Of War the other day only to come home and find my PS2 GONE. GONE!
I want to see the Halo 2 "Papa Smuff" video linked online. That thing made me laugh till I cried. I donno. E! may run it again, they ran it a few days ago...
But,But... LEERROYYY JENKINS!
on a serious note, i enjoy G4 X-play being my favorite.
i love Icons and attack of the show.
But Gphoria SUCKED. this year it was just terrible.
seeing as how the people that actually worked on the channel didn't get any showtime accept Race to Gphoria and Crashing Gphoria. but seriously most of the "celebrities" there who said they were hardcore gamers didn't have the faintest Idea of what they were talking about.
and Andy micalckkkuuaaorus whatever his name is isn't the Least bit funny. i don't know who slept with who to get him that show but it worked.
Wilmer? I like Fez.
I don't want to sound biased at all, but in my opinion, I really did feel that RE4 was screwed out of some awards. I was expecting it to win at least 3, but at least it was nominated for a lot. However, I was really angry when RE4 lost in the "Best Graphics" category...
You see. it was all Halo 2 and Half life 2.
alot of gamers are so incredibly stupid that they'd vote for Halo 2 even if it was nominated for Best RPG.

Best Voice Performance - Female--Half-Life 2 - Merle Dandridge
I always thought she was a good voice actor, so I'm not suprised

Best Adaptation--LEGO Star Wars
LEGEND! *does Bill and Ted "guitar fingers"*

Game of the Year--Halo 2
I find that quite disturbing. I can tell these guys are just Xbox fan-boys trying not to look biased by giving God of War a few awards.

Best Voice Performance - Male--Halo 2 - David Cross
Isn't he the lankey nerdy guy with glasses?
I think he suit Zero in San Andreas MUCH better.
And dude, those results SUCKED ASS.
some of it was just so ridiculous.
but remember... it's all about majority. turns out that the majority are first person shooter crazed idiots. *cough*Halo2*cough*
I've been playing a lot of Halo 2 with some friends, and I still don't see the big deal. I just see a lot of the same. A good game? Yes, it still is, but I just can't get realy too hyped about it I guess, and I love FPS games. A lot of these awards were pretty off-key to me though. x.x

Oh, I just realized it only has "TechTV" in the title in Canada, and that only for the reason that we get Leo's show, which I don't think Americans do.
Yes, Canada gets Leo, and we don't. Unless you count his radio show, which was only on the west coast, I think.
Well, Leo and the rest of the original TSS gang also has a podcast called "This Week In Tech" if I recall right. I don't remember the link since it was on my wiped-out favorites list.
On the topic, I didn't watch Gphoria, because I'd figured Halo 2 would take most of the awards, and I was right. >.> (Don't get me wrong, it's a good game and all, but it's too overhyped IMO)
