Alright now...when it comes to Halo[or most FPSs for that matter] i'm quite the n00b, but I was wondering if Halo was a fraction as popular in Japan as it is over here[and like 90% of the world]?
It's far less popular in Asian countries. The rest of the world loves it, though.
The Xbox in general is less popular over there (actually that's the reason the Wii is winning in world wide sales...).
That said, Famitsu LOVED the game... 37/40

Yea i'm thinking some schools/colleges will be closed Sept. 25th in the United States. This will go down as a National Holiday. I'm actually abit pumped about this game and I suck at FPSs and rarely ever play them. Halo 2 is fun so whenever I go to my friend's and they are playing it, i'll definetly grab a controller. I can remember when H2 was released though...it broke so many records...if H3 breaks those, i'll be surprised.
I'll be getting it in an hour and 15 minutes.
I'll let you guys know what it's like. No spoilers, I promise.

Despite the fact that Amazon warned me they were expecting a delay, the order has updated to "Order dispatching soon".
Hopefully that means it'll be sent off today and reach here by the end of the week 😀
and then i have to play through campaign without slipping to my friend I have it <__< he's insistent on doing co-op with me as soon as i get it, but I want to play through campaign with a full screen first. I'm the one who paid 290 for the 360 and 70 for the game >=/
My bro and I have had the game for about 27 hours now (NZ is the first country the international date line sweeps over) - we've not being playing it that long (sleep needed to occur at some point, as did that ingesting of food thing that humans do), and whilst nothing has particularly blown me away (though Forge would have if I had not known of it prior), everything really is top of the line, I'm very pleased with it.
It's shallow, but I have to say, I really dig the visuals. Water, lighting, weapon effects, textures - it's so nice to have 360-powered Halo in purty HD. I've seen games with better graphics of course, but the game certainly handles what it does competently, I haven't noticed any slowdown so far.
The characters are all very nice to look at (apart from Miranda). Chief and Arbiter appear more... I dunno, solid? Sarge Johnson probably looks the most realistic (though he stares a little). Cortana got hit a couple of times with the hawtness stick. All of the Covenant are more fearsome (not just appearance wise, either.. even a couple of grunts really seem to have grown a pair).
The first bunch of campaign stages are really fun, and feel a little different (in a good way) than those of the previous two games (to me, anyway). The standard multiplayer modes are as cool as ever, but the Forge just totally opens it up. I had so much fun just smashing my brother by throwing spawned crates and Ghosts at him. It's like Garry's Mod for Halo.
The theatre mode rocks, too, I didn't think I would spend as much time in it as I have.
The only thing that's kinda peeved me thus far is that you can't choose black for your armor color anymore (just a moderately dark grey). I suppose it's to prevent people taking advantage by sticking to the shadows.
Oh, and also I guess the Legendary Edition's physical bonuses aren't quite as good in quality as I'd expected (the game case itself [standard DVD case you'd put on your shelf] is an ugly dark monochrome thing too). The helmet and base that it slots onto are detailed in the modelling, but they are just colored plastic, not painted (though the base has a very rushed looking silver brushing run along the side). The shinyness of the helmet visor and the metallic 'edition number' plate on the base are cool, though.
Silly thing is, I'm not actually that much of a Halo player (though it's the only FPS apart from Half-Life I'm that into). I'm actually more into the world of the franchise. My bro will totally exhaust every facet of the game, and I'll probably spend a few hours a week on it, but re-read the 'Art of Halo' book right through again XD

I've encountered a kamikaze grunt thrice so far. he first time was the best by far though, it was such a surprise and so close. He went nuts and charged while I was reloading. I jumped up some crates and onto a higher platform, chuckling and waiting to hear the end of him down below. Instead, I heard manic gurgling right behind me. He'd come up a ramp I didn't know about. He was like just two feet away when I Carbined him in the head and jumped backwards as both the grenades blew.
Awesome.
Geyser, dual Brute Spiker really is love, I agree. I dont know why, but the Brute's weapons (and now vehicles!) have always been my favourites. Bruteshot was glued to my hands in the previous game.
And thanks to you guys that aren't fans but are wishing us fun. It's a nice change from the usual non-fan's comments ("OVERRATED!!!!").

I love the theater feature and also love multiplayer. I never got around to playing Halo 2 on live, so this stuff is new to me. The campain mode is pretty cool, but awesome with a buddy over live!
I walked in on one of my old roommate's new roommate playing campaign... It was the end, but all I saw were flowers and a marine talking... I quickly walked to the other room >>
