Dude, they're all in Halo 3. Different cast members say different things in the same spot on different difficulties.

Oh, yeah. The auction thing they did. Forgot about that!

I was just messing about regarding the mention of 'flowers' by Hiro. 😯

I've not read the review yet, but apparently Edge have given it a 10. :eek First one since Half-Life 2. I'm very surprised by that, if anything I thought Mario Galaxy would be the next one.

My experience with the Halo series is extremely limited (a couple of hours on each of the Xbox games, and numerous playthroughs of the PC demo of the first game - the Silent Cartographer level), but the impression I get from the various players' comments is that the Elites were more interesting to fight one-on-one than the Brutes, because their recharging shields meant you had to sustain your attack for several seconds (on Legendary anyway) - if you had to duck behind cover to recharge your shield, their shield would recharge too and you'd be back to square one. Apparently the Brutes have a limited amount of recharging shield (not broken off, each bit of armour will glow and recharge a little), but you can still chip away at them bit by bit more than you could with Elites. But this is balanced by the increased scale of the encounters, which are, by all accounts, amazing.

Look at me, talking about the game as if I've played it. :)

Also, I admit it - I LOL'd at this

Well single player was very disappointing. I beat it in two nights after work. It was short, easy and frankly not all that interesting. it felt like they took too many cues from the uninspired level design of the first game, except as opposed to having the same buildings repeated over and over again, this time they had the same open fields repeated over and over again.

Not to mention friendly AI seemed worse than normal. They kept walking in front of me while I was sniping, and they couldn't drive at all. Any time I got in a Warthog turret, the driver decided to simply drive in circles. I opted for Ghosts or Wraiths (and those things the Brutes drive) whenever I could so I could shoot and drive at the same time.

Spoilers (Select To Read): As for story? Yeah, anyone looking for an epic confrontation must have been very dissappointed. The whole find Cortana thing was sweet, but when the final boss battle of the game is against a little floating nubbin that you just need to easily dodge and fire the Spartan laser at a few times, you need to spend more time working on it.

I'm sure multiplayer is good. I might be able to check it out as tommorrow's payday and I'm thinking of finally caving and buying a 360 wireless adaptor, but I don't care how good the multiplayer game is, the single player campaign is a huge disappointment.

That's all kinds of awesome right there. I've only seen a couple of them so far, but they're hilarious. The absolute last thing I was expecting to run into. :lol

Gyser and I can attest to how awesome we are in matchmaking.

I always get the big kills of the match, and he always somehow gets MVP.

I'm doing pretty good in matchmakeing also. I never played H2 on xbox live, so all of this is new. I've actually gotten MVP a few times, just got my rank of 12 last night.

I was doing fairly well on Live as well. Especially for someone who hasn't played in about 1.5 years. That said, I was playing with my cousin with a guest account.

Oh right, that's in the Bungie favourites at the moment, so I downloaded it directly to my Xbox and watched it.

Spiner speaks the truth. If you ever want an awesome team for matchmaking, join up with us. Even if you don't win, you'll have an awesome time anyway.

3 new maps set to come December 11!
All for 800 microsoft points.

www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=12983

I think it's a little expensive for only 3 new maps, but I'll still most likely get it.

Had a quick look-see at the maps. For someone who doesn't think 800 points is much, I think they're worth it.

Standoff looks purty. =D My main concern with paying for it now is that they often seem to release these things for free later. And the time I did buy a map pack for Halo 2, it rarely ever came up during matches (it was also released for free later, grr).

EDIT: It would help if I read the thread, lol:

Quote:

When Halo 2's downloadable content joined the Internet, it effectively split the Matchmaking population into the "haves" and the "have-nots," Bungie was readily aware of the problem that caused, and has rectified it in Halo 3. First, when downloadable content arrives, it will have its own playlist for those folks who just want to play with their new toys. Simultaneously all of the DLC maps will be rolled in to the regular Matchmaking playlists as well and then as folks are getting matched up, the game will take into account who has what maps in the matchmaking process. So you'll see Team Slayer on Standoff show up in the Team Slayer hopper as well as in the new DLC-focused playlist.

Yay. =D Might go ahead and buy these, still not totally sure yet.

The fact that Halo 2 locked you out of playlists if you didn't have the maps was annoying. When I got my 360 and the two final maps were still premium content, it would not let me download them...locking me out of over half of the playlists. =/ I'm glad Bungie has made it so it doesn't lock you out of the playlist if you don't have the maps, and merely avoids using those maps.

tho knowing me i'll probably end up buying it on release anyway :crazy

If you have Guitar Hero 3 on the 360, this is extremely relevant to your interests.

FINALLY.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. That's friggin' awesome. And free, even. I've wanted that one for a while. Awesomeness.

Now they just need to add a downloadable Master Chief character to use in game. I'd pay for that, heh.

Master Chief is a boss fight in it. :crazy

EDIT: And here is a video showing just how insane the Halo song is in GH3.
