[link=www.bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?story=doaversushalo&p=4949519 newwindow]Halo character to premeir in DOA4.[/link]
And this is straight from Bungie. And they don't say stuff unless they mean it.
Sounds exciting. I wonder who it'll be...
Odds are, it'll be female.
Five english pounds* says it will be Cortana. With comically large breasts.
An Elite though would be cool.
*not a legitimate gamble
Oooh, I can see it now!
Fighting with the Master chief, and for his special finisher he takes out a rocket launcher and explodes the other guy into chunks .
It's been confirmed that it won't be Master Chief. Either way, this is pretty lame.
I'm sorta with Cycle on this one. The idea of a Halo character appearing in DOA just doesn't gel with me somehow. It sounds rather dull. Don't get me wrong, I'll still give it a look but I get the feeling that the character will be as necessary as a catflap in an elephant house (thank you Blackadder).
I mean, when they put Spawn in Soul Calibur 2, at least he was kind of consistent with the general artistic themes of the series.
Both Spawn and Link didnt look completly out of place in Soul Calibur 2. Heihatchi was a bit hmmmm.
This is almost like putting Sonic in Street Fighter 4. could be interesting but...why?
Actually, Link fitted in very well, or would do if they altered the design style on him to look less cartoon like (lack of a better term). If they had used the new Link (which they couldn't have at the time) I think it would've been more seemless.
As for this news, well, none of the characters in Halo are really worth any attention, as nice a game as it is, the characters just don't seem special in anyway. It's not like an FPS requires characters to be special, but fighters tend to have more unique qualities to them, or are mean't too. I really don't care for the idea and I probably won't care to play as the character they choose (which I also think will be Cortanna).
*is mezmerised by the breasts*
I think they're indicating it's her by the bouncing.
What Jaffa said. Though it'd be funny if they put a Grunt in there.
The problem is that Halo and Dead Or Alive are two COMPLETELY different games. This says to me that a new Halo game for Xbox 360 is indeed imminent like I was told.
Putting a Halo character in Dead Or Alive seems very random to me. Rachel from Ninja Gaiden would have been interesting but I can't see how this mystery guest character will improve the game. Hope it doesn't ruin the game, that's all I can say.
Personally, I'd like to see how they can get a character from the year 2552, or whatever year Halo is set in, and involve it into the game's storyline, or atleast, the character's background.
Halo (in context with Spiner's sig) + DoA = cheesy low budget basement porn!
*Laughs* Na, I'm joking about. It's just another example of companies combining for more profits, Soul Calibur was the best example of this, it'll keep happening and I encourage it, up until recently Capcom were about the only company willing to test it out, I assume if Namco versus Capcom sells well, we'll see a few more of these joint ventures, between big houses (because EA + Vampire: Masquerade people = WTF?!!?).
Of course, Bungie are just whoring their publicity wagon again, fair play to them, it'll make the game a bit more novel than it would have been.
Myahaha, I can see it now... Flood Form tentacle thingies, and scanitly clad ninja girls... n_n
La Blue Girl? Sounds familiar that. Hee Hee
And Ninja Scroll as well, just fewer tentacles. Ick!
Won't the character seem a little out of place? I mean, Kasumi fighting a grunt perhaps. I just can't see it.
It better be an Elite.
In the meantime...
*goes on XBox Live H2 w/ all black Elite skin*
The latest issue of Game Informer has revealed the hidden character!
(Drumroll)
Spartan-458, a female.
The armor looks pretty good with 360 graphics. o.o
I have no idea who that is.
*Is slapped round the back of his head*
But it doesn't come as too much of a shock it's female.
The question is: will she fit in?
I can only think of one Spartan which is alive, and that is female.
*Gasp* OMG, it's Kelly.
Well, that's only speculation, as I sure as Hell don't even remember her rego number. u.u; I need to scoop this out.
It's not Kelly (not the same number). It's not Linda (the red-haired sniper) either. Speculation says it might be the 'Cassandra' mentioned in the 'Conversations from the Universe' packet in the Halo 2 special edition case. The letter from 'Cassandra' mentions a knowledge of the Master Chief; as to how is anyone's guess.
Well, DOAtec gofs around with cloning all the time, ala the many Kasumi clones in DoA3 and the one you fight in DoA2. BTW, just made two million with Kasumi on DoA3 survival.
I actually reckon i know who is behind the armour...
Tina Armstrong. Alright before you laugh. Think about it. Tina wants to be a film star, Halo movie in production. Female Spartan? Halo Arena is a Movie set. It makes sense.
A little but at least its not like having a character from far away in the future being a bonus character in a game set around the present.

XD That is actually a logical idea, man.
EDIT:
Screenshots! Oh sweet lord, screenshots! n_n (Might be a little behind, but that's because he don't get Game Informer. But the screenshots look DAMN SWEET anyway, and is gonna post 'em.)
Took these from elsewhere, but 'ave a gander:
Spartan 458 herself.
*GASP* Fighting Ryu Hayabusa.
And her fighting arena, one of the Magenetic Acceleration Cannon (MAC) Stations orbiting Earth.
This just makes my mouth drool. Seeing two of my most favourite XBox series of games, come together. n_n Yes, I realize that DOA wasn't originally on the XBox, but that's besides the point. The fact that they're collaborating is.
(is a Game Informer subscriber)
You should see the motion-blur screenshots. Sweet. o.o
How lame.
Would someone explain to me why they thought that a fatass woman master shief would make a good character in a modern-day fighting game?
I'd still have a look but...I think someone has kinda screwed up! It doesn't make sense to have a character like that in Dead Or Alive. Dead Or Alive is appealing because (apart from Bankotsu-Bo, Genra and being able to fling yourself off a building and landing without breaking your legs) is realism. That's my opinion but THIS?
I fear I may dislike this installment of Dead Or Alive! That was painful to say.

Bungie and Team Ninja are both well aware of this fact (it was mentioned a few times in the GI article), and Bungie is writing 458's backstory to explain this tidbit of how a futuristic Spartan makes it into the world of DOA 4.

The character or the graphics?
The character or the graphics?
The character. A lot of people get confused by the fact that the graphics aren't much of a departure in terms of detail from newer Xbox titles, but that's because they haven't seen it in full, glorious 1080p high-def resolution. Remember, the 360 runs at more than double the resolution of the Xbox.

Well, that is re-assuring. I thought she was gonna be a hidden character that didn't have a story all her own. Just another character with no depth.
But like I said, I'd still have a look. I might post later that it's the best game I've ever played and she did seem to work in the game.
If this is how low the secret character is gonna be for the Xbox version, I don't wanna know the others.
I think DOA4 is an Xbox 360-exclusive.
It is.
The Dead Or Alive series have been Xbox Exclusive since DOA 3. Whilst Tecmo arent exclusive to Xbox(That game with the ghost capturing camera both on Xbox and PS2), The Team Ninja games are exclusive to Xbox (DOA and Ninja Gaiden) for some reason. I dont think they have signed an exclusivity contract with Microsoft.
Itagaki-san went with Xbox over PS2 because it offered him more power and better technology, which is what he wants; the most powerful technology to make the games HE wants to make.

Damn it, I was thinking about Soul Calibur again... DAMN.
Just watched a trailer of DOA4 when I checked the menu in Ninja Gaiden Black! What a game! Anyway, I didn't see the Halo character but it looks like I'll be able to look past it. Maybe even enjoy it!
Has anyone seen the special video in DOA Ultimate when you get all the costumes? Explains a lot about the future of DOA.
FYI Jaffa, Soul Caliber III is PS2 exclusive.
