And now I have a Second Life. http://secondlife.com
It's a sim! Every single thing in the game (except the ground and sky themselves) are/were created by other players in the game. It's fun, but I don't understand why. First basic accounts are free, but require you to show your Paypal account if you actually want ingame currency paid to you weekly.
Basically, you have to be good at one of the following to get the best experience: Texturing, modeling (me!), architecture, event planning, scripting/programming (also me!), sound recording, and a couple other categories I don't care to mention. If you're not good at any of those, there's tutorials. If you don't have time to learn, then that sucks for you, but you can still meet up with other people and play minigames that others have mande.
For people from this forum, I'd suggest you use the find feature in the game to get to the Emerald Hill Zone. It's about the only Sonic-themed place in the game, but eventually there will be another from me. But don't leave Orientation Island (the place where you start) until you've learned the basics.
Free accounts, called "Basic accounts", can't own land, so I decided to subscribe for a Premium account. That's the main difference between them. After one week of play, every Tuesday, you get paid L$50 for Paypal-confirmed basic accounts, and L$400 for Premium accounts.
To play, you need broadband, since everything is streamed to you while you play. The client is somewheres about 20MB. If you do make an account, visit my store/hangout place, Thunder1's Shop of Marvels, to see me and some of my unique oddities that I have created, like my black hole. My ign is Thunder Rahja.
I've heard of this. It makes me feel less bad about playing Starwars Galaxies for 3 years. Least I got to kill stuff in it. :3

But Star Wars Galaxies wasn't M-rated. And you do get to kill other players in this game in several "warzones" with any weapons or vehicles you make. I made a cannon that flattens people with cannonballs.
lmao @ creating weapons
*disigns a giant space station*
Hmph.
*makes it look like the ARK*
Better.
*gives it an Eclipse Cannon*
INSTANT WIN
Actually, that's quite possible, but the scripting to make the land explode everywhere is quite complex. And laggy.
I think we had a topic concerning this game a long time ago in MFC. Does anyone else remember that?
