Hmm. SPOILER *highlight*: Looks like Sora's one of those three knights in the hidden ending.

And what's this? Chain of Memories in 3D?

Crap. And it's not likely to be released outside of Japan. ;_;

First of all: yeah, that looks like a remade Chain of Memories. Looks like PS2 owners who skipped out on the GBA adventure will get their chance to play it in some fashion. It might be the full game or it might just be a mini-game of sorts.

Second:

It's not a spoiler if it's wrong. Nomura has already stated that the three knights were all-new characters yet to be revealed. Hence, it ain't Sora.

Third: Wouldn't it be funny that the reason KHII has yet to hit Europe was because they were going to use this new version? No, of course not. With only a few weeks left to go, there's no way that'll be possible. Sorry mates.

IF this game becomes available outside of Japan (read: in the good ol' USA), I'll be getting this game and maybe a used PS2 to play it with.

The other game? I don't a DS so I don't need it nor want it until I get a DS.

That is all.

Bastards! >=O

10 bucks says KH2: Final Mix won't leave Japanese shores!

I am seriously pissed off at this, considering Europe and Australia haven't even got KH2 yet.

Why didn't they release the Final Mix of KH1 over here? Seems like that would be an effective way to rake in money, albeit a bit bitter in taste.

They'd have to pay the celebrity voice actors to come back and read the new lines.

Ineffective stratergy.

Ooh. Point.

Makes you wonder though whether they knew they were going to do a remix or not before the original release. I bet they could have just hired the voice actors to do the extra lines ahead of time for THIS one though.

Not if they half-ass it. Final Mix doesn't contain much in the way of new story, and when it did it was usually presented in text format and speech bubbles (Ansem Reports, misc. dialogue, Gummi Ship missions, Cloud vs. Seph). The bonus fight with Xemnas in Hollow Bastion was the only thing to receive voiced cinema scenes, and they crafted it such a way so that they could reuse lines from other parts of the game. Except for Xemnas, who spoke IN YOUR MIND LIKE THIS and thus there was no voice but plenty of new, if cryptic, material.

Final Mix 1 came out of anger that one U.S. shores, we got Kurt Ziza and Phantom and they did not. So they made a revamped version of KH1 to shut them up. Since I don't think the release date in the Japanese release and the U.S. release were far enough apart for any real change to occur, I think we might get Final Mix 2. Can't say anything for Europe or Australia though.

Yeah, see... I don't buy that. I'm more inclined to believe that Squeenix would have seen potential money-maker in the extra work Nomura and co. added to the US release and petitioned to have it re-released in their native soil with more extras than the possibility that they could be bullied into it by a rabid fanbase.

But then... the power of Sephiroth does compel you. As stated in the book of the Church of the One-Winged Angel. As it is written, so it shall be.

Praise Hojo.

Either way, I think there is a chance for Final Mix 2 to hit U.S. shores.

Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+
- Comes bundled with RE: Chain of Memories
- Spring 2007 release
- Various new Cutscenes, Battle Upgrades, Map Additions
- There is the "+" at the end of the title, probably to show that it is more than just a special edition
- Lot more story about Roxas
- According to Square they are not even mentioning if it will come to the US or not. As they always do with special editions. (avoiding the issue? way to go!)

RE: Chain of Memories
- There is a really big poster, It may be the box art
- Japanese Voiceovers
- Demo on site at TGS
- New Cutscenes
- You can get or win some sort of prize when you play the demo at TGS
- A reaction system has been added (more triangle button!!!)
- Reverse Rebirth is still in it

IGN Trailer Preview
"The last trailer from Square-Enix's was Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, which is a remixed version of Kingdom Hearts II (a.k.a the US version) as well as a title called Kingdom Hearts: Re:chain of Memories. As the title suggests, this is a remake of the GBA game of a similar name, but it's been completely redone in 3D. Not only that, but the game will include areas that weren't found in Chain of Memories before. Using an engine based on Kingdom Hearts II, the same card-based combat still applies, but it also includes the button-based combat found in Kingdom Hearts II. Interestingly enough, all of the cutscenes shown during the trailer featured only short appearances from the Disney characters."

KHU

There's also a more in-depth analysis on the Final Mix+ trailer by someone who was at the event. It looks like scenes from the novel are going to be integrated into the game. Hm, maybe we'll get that playable Sora/Roxas fight we've been wanting.

Son of a...

By "More Roxas stuff" I assume they mean outside of the overly long intro.

They can go screw themselves. They did this with Riku, now they're doing it with Roxas. If you create a mystery which doesn't make sense. RATIONALISE IT IN THE ORIGINAL RELEASE!

...They make me so mad, I feel I may hurt myself.

I'm confused. Why does Square release the Final Mixes if the original are still selling. And if it has to do with missing parts of the story, why couldn't they put the missing parts in the original?

Great...new cutscenes. Chances are, it ain't coming over here and even then, I'm not so sure I wanna dump more money into the game, so I'll be awaiting until fans splice them scenes into youtube or something. *sighes*

It's probably for the Japanese audience who always wants to know more about the game, updates to the actual game engine (which many skip because first releases have a tendency to be buggy), and to the rest of the fans who have skipped/could not buy the original game due to whatever reason (including the ones listed in this post).

Dengeki/Famitsu scans go in-depth (my comments in parathesis)

- Roxas' new scenes are supposed to help dip deeper into his character
- They're adding places when you can make us of all your abilities, and they're rework maps so that you get more of a sense of fun exploring that you did in KHII or even KH
(Huh?)
- His 'favourite Heartless' is going to be included (Mushroom)
- A battle against one of the Org. XIII, which was only a movie in the original ver. and he was sad to have cut, will be playable this time (Org XIII Roxas... you know it, I know it)
- Looks like there's going to be some parts not related to the story, where you might have the chance to fight 'an Org. XIII member you didn't get to fight in COM' (What the... Sexion Zexion?)
- New Reaction Commands (obviously to go with the new battles)
- A new difficulty, and since some people said that even Sephiroth on Proud mode was a walkover, there might be an even stronger enemy added (if history repeats... fightable Armored Unknown Enemy from secret ending)
- They're trying to include all the stuff in the game they couldn't before (you think?)
- The secret movie has been completely remade, it's not just the original with new bits added (Youtube ftw)
- He wouldn't say anything about who the secret movie character with the broken mask is (since it's a 'secret' movie) when asked if it was someone we know (Nomura and his mind games lol)
- They haven't decided if they're going to change the requirements to get the secret ending, since they usually decide that later on in the development

- For Re:COM, which is being made by the Osaka team who made Musashi (uh-oh), at first they started off talking about a 2D port but then they decided to make it 3D (smart move)
- After arguing about making it closer to KH or KHII, they decided on KHII and it's Reaction Commands
- The Tokyo team (who made KH and KHII) are handling the voiced cutscenes, and while they're using materials from KH they're also remaking the textures and such with KHII's improved technology
- They're adding some new game stuff unique to Re:COM
- There'll be quite a lot of new cards
- They're increasing the action element in Re:COM, and there'll be enemies with have some tricky attacks. With Marluxia and the like, it's kind of like "were they always this strong?"
(Heh-heh)
- More stuff you can interact with and destroy in the field screens. Like in the coliseum, you can knock down a pillar and it'll smash into another one like a domino, and you can get onto the top of the pillars (this improves greatly on what sucked in the GBA title: the randomized rooms were BORING)
- Some of the wording on the lines might be different since they're adding voices, but there's no additions to the story at the moment
- It's not fully voiced, only the original bits on floors in between worlds are. Disney worlds don't have voices
(how do i half-ass remake lol?)
- They're working on something that's influenced by both of the games, so like if you have save data for both games... Something like that (probably something lame like KHII Sora skin or Blindfold Riku skin)
- As for the price, they're thinking of the people who already bought KHII, and aren't going to make it the price of two games (anything over 30 bucks american is too much, regardless of extra content... to think, if Sony had their act together and pushed their online component as agressively as Microsoft did with Xbox Live all this would be downloadable content, but alas...)
(the kicker)- He is puzzling over what to do about North American fans, but mentions that he'd like it if they had the chance to be exposed to the Japanese voice casts as well (insert foulmouthed Donald line from KHII here, Lighty ma'boy :3)

I want to see Sora versus Roxas, but there IS a screenshot of Roxas versus "Ansem"

If Zexion is in this, I'll be VERY happy. Nomura was always saying that Zexion's weapon was a secret which he'd reveal eventually (hence why his grave is broken), I'd like to see!

My hopes are that the scene with Roxas, Axel and Namine discussing their options will lead to some resolution to Axel's quest to turn Sora into a Heartless, even if it's a conversation with Riku.

Square Enix - Japanese Exclusive Games Coming To Europe [21 Nov 2006]

Hey everyone,

In a recent interview, the president of Square-Enix Europe revealed that they would be releasing a dozen titles next year in the European market.

Other than Final Fantasy XII he mentioned that they would also release some titles that were previously Japanese exclusives. He did not reveal what games would be on the list, but some games that have been stuck in Japan are: Final Fantasy VII, X & X-2 International, Itadaki Street, and Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.

Now remember, there have been no revealed titles, and this currently only stands for Europe. We can probably expect more news as the European release of Final Fantasy XII approaches.

I guess us Euros can only hold our breath.

This bodes a little well, at least.

Though I'm pretty sure X international was the European release. T'was the US who went without it.

COM was always a personal favorite of mine, and if they were able to sell this to US, I highly doubt it'd sell very well, but I'd buy it =P.

The idea of battling Org. members OUTSIDE of the storyline REALLY interests me. I remember how pissed I was when I found out I couldn't fight Xemnas again (The Solo fight between Sora and Xemnas was my absolute favorite battle in the game). Same goes for the Sephy fight.

I think it'll come to the US. There are more KH fans here than in Japan...unless every teen in Tokyo enjoys the KH series >_>

>>... No... I think you are confusing the US with Japan. The Japanese LOVE RPGs... especially Square/Enix RPGs. The US, on the other hand, LOVES FPSs.

Well guys, KH2: FM was just recently released in Japan. And already people got the secret ending to it. And it ROCKS! And major spoilers (duh) But I'll say this, you see those three armored warriors' faces.

The secret ending!

(Posted on the official KH thread as well)

So basically this is a precursor to a spin-off game like Chain of Memories. Since they're introducing new keyblade wielders, it'd be nice to have a main protagonist other than Sora to play as. I want to play as Aqua, methinks. Change of pace, ya?

Btw, Final Mix? S'allright. You can fight the Org members from CoM through portals that appear in the worlds. Zexion's up first in Olympic Colloseum, but you'll need to come back later because more than likely at that point you'll be in no shape to challenge him (his weapon's a book... and it hurts muchly). Larxene just appeared during Port Royal but killed me in 5 seconds.

I don't even want to think about the mystery knight.

Look like Kingdom Hearts will get a spin off.

Quote:

Gemaga asked if the characters who appear in the new CG "secret movie" that has been added to Final Mix are from the new title. "They are people who have some relation to the new series," said the producer. "However the next title won't just be Kingdom Hearts III. If it were III, we wouldn't call it a new series."

Asked if Sora and Riku would make an appearance in the new game, he said with a laugh, "I can't say." He also hinted that the new game would have something to do with Xehanort, the main villain of the Kingdom Hearts series.

He was just as direct when Dengeki PlayStation asked for some details on the new title. "First, it's not Kingdom Hearts III. Of course, because we're calling it a 'new' series, it won't be KHIII. Also, it's a series, so it probably won't be just one title."

Interesting.

Edit- Also: Sora vs the Knight. And I thought Sephiroth was hard.

well i played through KH2, beat it, got ultima weapon, and beat sephiroth with less than half of the recommended supplies(and i used the oblivion keyblade) i decided that the secret ending wasn't worth going for just due to the fact that the requirements were boring and rediculous. so maybe they will make it attainable atleast.

btw, i've watched the extended secret ending on youtube (don't worry i won't spoil it) it's at the very LEAST double the original length.

I'll need an American release of this.

Shadonic :( you need the abilities that make you live after losing all HP by a huge hit or a combo.
