'Fraid so.

Eh, good for the people who still remember the show and wish to see it again. I've seen it once already long ago and I could do without having to repeat that. Liked the multi-colored Triforces, though... but the prism-like special effect popular with animators back then was unnecessary.

Let's see that Mysterious Cities of Gold DVD set now...

As much as I love Zelda stuff (and I've also managed to watch the episodes on Yahooligans!), my money is going towards the Super Mario Bros. cartoon DVD set. It's the cartoon I love and cherished, the one I grew up with.

Wow, I liked missed so much as a kid...though I don't find it all that interesting, it'd be still nice to give it a look...

May I second your vote for Mysterious Cities of Gold? I got excited briefly a couple of years ago when it got a complete release in France, but alas no English version was forthcoming :(

Back on topic: Never thought I'd see a complete Zelda - or certainly not before Sonic :( I knew they'd released a couple of random DVDs, plus random episodes on other DVDs. I've an ancient video with one episode of Zelda and one of Captain N, which is nice for nostalgia. Not sure I could actually stomach an entire season of Zelda though - one of the more annoying female leads in (American) cartoondom...

I kinda figured it's probably because either Zelda cartoons came out first or because they only have 13 episodes in total as oppose to SatAM's 26 and AoSTH's...well, more episodes (I forgot how many at the moment, but I know it's a lot)...then again, the Mario cartoons have a crapload of episodes also...

I hate it when things like this happen because I always end up going back to the cartoons I adored as a kid and Finding them laughably terrible.
Mario, then Captain N and AoSTH, and now Zelda...

Damn Disillusioning childhood memories.

I still would love AoStH ^^; The Zelda cartoons were dynomite for their time. But I still think the Super Mario World Cartoons and and the Sonic ones will always be boss.

Zelda...well the 2 episodes I've seen were okay, oddly I have my favorite episode from my childhood on my Mario DVD that I got back in 2002.

Who knows, I may wind up getting this little collection. XD

Super Mario World, it contains my ALL time fave Mario episode ever out of all of the series: Mama Luigi. I cannot stress enough how much that episode has a special place in my heart.

Oh, I phrased that wrong.
I meant the SMB Movie, quite possibly the LEAST accurate videogame adaptation ever.
Yup, even more so than DOOM.

Tool.

It's actually funny because I actually enjoyed that movie. This is coming from someone who sees games adapted to movies and just cringe. Maybe it's the nostalgic value...that and Luigi is pretty durn hot.

Dude, Street Fighter got the character's names and appearances at leats somewhat right.
The characters in Mario are the game characters in name only.
Have you watched the movie?

Yes I have, and the Mario Bros. movie at least tried to keep things similar to the game in terms of set up, it looked like a realistic Mario story, yes it shouldn't have happened, but it could have nearly everything in the plot same way if it were a feature length episode of the old cartoon series.

Street Fighter on the other hand took all the characters, who had already known personalities and storylines (something harder to define with Mario, other than Princess is captured, Bros. save the day) and melted them into sludge. Guile was played by Jean Claud Van Dam of all people. All the characters are nothing, NOTHING, like there in game characters. Chun Li, in game, is an Interpole officer, following the trail of her father's murderer, Bison. In the movie? A news reporter. Cammy, in game, an agent for the British MI5 unit, Delta Red, has incredible fighting abilities and her past is unknown other than the fact that she seems to have memories of Shadaloo. In film, a partner of Guile's who doesn't seem to have any fighting skills beyond normal military buffs, also play by Kyle Minogue...

I could go on and on but I'm sure I've gone on too much already :P. The fact is, Street Fighter just barely got the appearance right, it ruined everything else. Mario may have messed up the appearance, but at least it got a lot of things close to what they could be if it was a realistic world. Neither are good, Mario just has more in common with it's inspiration.

Anyway, I'd like to get the Zelda series, as bad as it may be for my brain, plus seeing the pld Mario series would be nicer. ^^

Okay Guys, we found the one person!

Make that two.

*holds up Super Mario Bros. recorded tape....from Disney, which edited out John Leguizamo calling the bad guy's "butt breath"* :/

Disney had the Mario movie? Or is it just an editted one when they aired it in Disney? They took out "butt breath?"

But yay to meet another Mario Bros. movie lover.

Disney aired the Mario movie about a year or so ago as it's Friday night teen movie. But it was edited; and yes, they edited out the exchange between Luigi, Spikosaurus and Ignatious when the latter two were tied up in the Koopahari Desert where Luigi calls Spike a "butt breath".
