Looking for PC game suggestions

Title pretty much says it all. I've had a gaming PC for almost seven months now, but I've only gotten a few games for it. So I'm looking for suggestions for fairly-recent PC games, preferably Games for Windows titles - no more than a year or three old. I've saved up a good bit of gaming money, but I don't know where I should throw it and I don't always agree with professional game rankings - I find recommendation to be more reliable.

I'm open to most types of games, but I don't like racing games or fighting games, and I rarely enjoy mideval/fantasy titles. My most preferred genres are shooter and RTS/RTT titles. I don't like "traditional" or "straight" RPGs, but I'll play more action oriented ones, like Mass Effect.

So far, I've bought or downloaded Assassin's Creed, Command and Conquer 3, Crysis, Company of Heroes, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Mass Effect, and World in Conflict. All of these work very smoothly - PC specs aren't an issue for now.

Multiplayer gaming is not an issue. Due to problems with my ISP, I rarely am able to play games online. Oh, and being able to work neatly in a window mode, such as Mass Effect and Crysis, is a huge, huge plus. Personal preference. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of war, along with Dawn of War: Winter Assault and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

Really great RTS, and while WA and DC are technically expansion packs, each has their own full story mode, so yeah.

Also GET THE ORANGE BOX. I cannot stress this enugh. Half Life 2 is the best FPS I've played, Portal is the best platformer ever, and Team Fortress 2 is just a great multiplayer game. You will not regret getting this pack.

TEAM FORTRESS 2 and Portal (so you'd be better off getting Orange Box). Seriously, those two are the reason behind me getting into console gaming.

I'm not paying for the same games again. o.o

To be fair, though, I bought it on PS3 before I knew or had any inkling that I'd be getting a PC that could play decent games, I probably would have waited if I knew.

Then just rebuy TF2, given that it's only $20. TF2 on the PS3 will NEVER be the same game TF2 on the PC is; it lacks all the extra maps, the extra weapons, the extra achievements, and probably doesn't even have half the userbase. Plus Valve has pretty much gone on record saying that they don't support the PS3 version, so you're unlikely to see those updates happen, either.

I'm not much of an online gamer due to connection problems. ...probably should have said that.

I remember Fex watching me play tf2 on my laptop and something about how the heck I can keep up with how fast I was moving and aiming. XD

BONK!
