Wow, the only posts I ever make in this forum are either Klonoa or Disgaea based... that's really sad. (B-but there was NO POST made about this! And-and it wounds me! And I couldn't just not do anything about it! And-and...!)

As previously reported, Disgaea 2 is not set in the Netherworld, but in a "normal" world where the Overlord Xenon placed a curse on its inhabitants, transforming them into demons. Only one person remained unaffected: a young man named Adel, who decides to take a stand and become the hero of the story. He concocts a summoning ceremony with the intention of confronting Xenon, but instead summons the overlord's only daughter, Rosalinde. She is a spoiled, 17-year-old demon girl, and to complicate matters, she is only Level 1 and completely naive about the world. Familiar jobs and faces from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Makai Kingdom will appear in Disgaea 2. Etna will arrive in Adel's world with an entourage of prinnies, the much-adored penguin mascots of both Disgaea and Makai Kingdom. She is now 1473 years old, and she has advanced from Retainer to Majin. Etna is seeking to challenge Overlord Xenon and claim the title of "Strongest Overlord Ever," but she is having trouble locating him. Other Overlords from Makai Kingdom will arrive on the scene, usually in the form of powerful spells. Casting Omega Wind summons Alexander, and Terra Star invokes Valvolga.
Other returning Disgaea elements include combos, grid-pattern fields, and the Dark Assembly. This time, there is a Dark Court as well where characters will be put on trial and possibly convicted of crimes. Potential punishments were not given, but bribery is still an option.
Disgaea 2 is scheduled to invade Japan in 2006. It is unknown whether the title will reach North America."

Read about this in Game Informer a month ago. I have to say, I only hope Laharl and Flonne show up. Those two were so cute.

Etna's a Majin?! HAX!
If Etna's trying to get the title of Strongest Overlord Ever, makes you wonder what Laharl's doing. Supposedly, the Good Ending is the canon one, because of the scenes in Phantom Brave and all.. >_> I haven't played Makai Kingdom.
What scenes in Phantom Brave (never played it)?
Well, Marona picks up a Bottlemail (a creature in Phantom Brave), opens it up, and Laharl comes out, screaming about Etna putting him in there. >_> And then Marona kicks Laharl's ass so she doesn't have to become his vassal.
When we see Etna and Flonne later, Flonne's in her Fallen Angel form. Marona kicks their butts too when Etna convinces Flonne to fight them in exchange for the Prism Rangers Box Set Volume 3. o_o
So... yeah.
BTW, Marona's a mostly normal human, but she can summon Phantoms, which are pretty much like Laharl's vassals, but not in such an evil master-slave relationship. XD
BTW, none of this is spoilers, really. It's all after the plot, and doesn't really have a bearing on the story. o_o

There's a new trailer on the official webpage! (Downloads section, as usual.)
It mainly shows off the different attacks and features in the game. (The Item World returns, woot!)
Also, fans of the original might enjoy seeing the characters that appear in this one. (In particular, that one kid... near the end of the trailer...) ;D
Spoilers (Select To Read): It seems that Prinny Kurtis appears by using the cellphone options. Same for the Prism Rangers~ But it DOES appear that Laharl is gonna be in this game too, which is all kinds of awesome.
