I want this game right now!
The only thing that got a =( was the supposed inability to turn very quick. Other than that... <3 <3 <3!
The control scheme itself sounds just like Hunters, except the Wiimote is the stylus. Again, <3.
I can't wait for moooore.
OMFG RIDLEY'S BACK
I almost passed out from pure ecstacy
Hmm...looks interesting. Wiimote-censor fire control, huh? Sounds...unusual.
Looks like I'll finally have to get around to finishing Echoes, then. 😮 And see if I can't get my hands on Hunters some time soon.

Sensor.
Censor is to try and hide something. Like most of Sailor Nudity.
It's just like using a mouse, but without it against the desk so it's even better
It's just like using a mouse, but without it against the desk so it's even better
Hopefully that'll be the case when I play it. ^^;
That is, it being better than a mouse.

I thought we should ressurect this topic, since the game comes out on August 20th.
Also, the tidbits that were mentioned on GoNintendo that had to do with the scans posted:
- First level - You are attacked on a spaceship while meeting with the ships captainaction packed
- Play feels motion controls work better than dual joystick
- Super sensitive pointer in advanced mode
- Beam stacking ala Super Metroid
- Visor switch: Hold minus and flick Wiimote in certain directions
- Boss fight with Ridley at the end of the first level. Excellent difficulty curve by the time you reach the boss.
- Back tracking in MP3:C makes more sense than in previous Primes
- Extra development time was to give the game more polish. Nintendo wanted Twilight Princess levels of polish. Game is focused on Metroid fans and hardcore gamers, but still accessible to newcomers due to controls.
- Second level - floating city focused on exploration
- Larger environments, bloom lighting, better textures than Prime 2
- Corruption Mode not available in demo
- Play says it could be the biggest revolution in FPS gaming since Halo.

What? That's a horrible comparison. You're pointing a stick at a screen. That offers a whole lot less control than a mouse. Plus you only have however many buttons are on the Wiimote, so you don't get the flexibility of a keyboard.
That said, I hope this control setup isn't too aggravating to use.
I'm guessing the controls is why it was delayed...
I hope Nintendo has carefully planned this thing out...

Dude, my interest just jumped up about 20 times... Holy crap that is gorgeous!
"gorgeous" is really too strong a word for a game that looks as good as Gears of War, a game that came out almost 9 months ago.
TheCycle has an alt? Wow this topic is super old. Geez, how'd you even find it Shadic not to mention remember it. Yea the game seems to becoming quite amazing. And you know Ridley was in the first MP, but i'm guessing not in MP2:E[which I wouldn't know because i'll never beat that game!].
Ridley wasn't in MP2. It was mostly just Samus vs. the Ing, with Dark Samus as the secondary higher threat. In this game though, Dark Samus is the main villain.
I remembered seeing a MP3 topic around the time of E3 last year, so I searched for it. It was pretty easy, considering this forum doesn't get spammed with like, 30 topics each day unlike most other forums (GameFAQs or IGN for instance).
Yea i've got to find those Dark Temple Keys. I'm sure i'll find them all one day[year], but first I gotta find the time and patience. Yea I remember hearing about Dark Samus being the main villain in 3 from somewhere. Can't wait for E3. I bet they'll have some good stuff on the game there.
I pray it has an online mode. Metroid Prime Hunters online mode was almost cool, except I hated the stylus controls so it made it not so much fun.
The official boxart of the game.
Eh...what the hell is up with Dark Samus in the corner? It looks totally out of place.
Not totally out of place. It's pretty simple though. I like that.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass follows hot on the heels of another classic Nintendo franchise with amazing new controls. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the third installment of the hit trilogy, launches with motion-sensitive controls exclusively on Wii on Aug. 27. For more information about these games, visit www.Nintendo.com
Apparently it's been delayed by a week.
LOOK INTO HER EYES
a little bummed about the delay, but it's only a week...
I need to try and play MP again...
Holy effing scheissen. The game looks SOOO much better than it did during E3 last year.
Hey Shadic watch that German. 😛 Indeed very cool.
The trilogy ends ... with a bang! Six months have passed since the events on the planet Aether. The Galactic Federations network computers, Aurora Units, are suddenly and completely corrupted with something like a virus, and only quick action
saves the entire network from going down. The Federation believes Space Pirates may be behind the problem and, beginning with Samus, starts to contact bounty hunters. As it explains the situation to the assembled hunters, the Federation is attacked by the pirates. Samus and the other hunters leap to the defense of the Federation capital, only to find that the enemy the hunters face is the presumed-dead Dark Samus.
Dark Samus defeats Samus and the other bounty hunters, corrupting them with Phazon in the process. They are all subsequently outfitted by the Galactic Federation with Phazon Enhancement Devices (PEDs) that can harness their corruption to enhance their powers. After learning to use this enhancement, called Hypermode, Samus sets off after Dark Samus, who has begun to seed other planets with Phazon by launching enormous Phazon seeds called Leviathans into them. As the Phazon begins to slowly corrupt Samus, the final saga in the Metroid Prime trilogy begins.

The game also incorporates a new system involving Phazon. If you fill Samus' Phazon supply to a certain level, Samus will temporarily go into hyper mode, a state in which she can pull off incredible feats. On the flip side, if she exceeds the maximum Phazon level, she'll perish. Also, for the first time in the Metroid series, Samus' ship will be used in active game play.

Oh yea sounds good. I remember hearing about the ship being playable awhile back. That's funny. first time ever in the series 20 year history. =P
For those of you who don't know, the Wii updated this morning, giving us the Metroid Prime 3 preview channel. Looks awesome. We get a new trailer, and new footage of fighting Space Pirates at the Bridge. "Aurora" and "Spider Ball" will appear next week on the 13th.
hahahahaha
I just bought the game for $30 on Target.com... Booyah!
Well, I've never played a Metroid game before, but after seeing the videos on the preview channel and with the original being on the VC, I'm thinking about getting into this series. I would have to play the original and Prime 1, 2, and Hunters before I would Prime 3 though. BTW, the Spider Ball video is completely awesome.
Was the Mother Brain used by the Space Pirates on Zebes nothing more than a bio-tech super computer following protocol and commands, or was there an actual personality behind it all? Originally, I had come to think of the Mother Brain as the de-facto leader of the Space Pirates, kind of weird to hear that there are other "Aurora" units being used as common workstations.
Even if the Space Pirates commandeered one for their own use, planted it on Zebes to oversee their Metroid production program and given it the monniker "Mother Brain", it's still weird to consider that this unit grew a body and came after Samus like a bat out of Hell in Metroid 3.
Maybe I'm over thinking it. Perhaps MP3 (lulz) will introduce how sentience came into one Aurora unit that becomes the new Mother Brain in M3. Yessssss, that would be most acceptable.
Perhaps the Mother Brain was the original and was copied? I mean, Metroid never goes into how OLD the Space Pirates are. Also. Those with Wiis, check the Wii Shop, they got free MP3 stuff.
The two newest vids are up now, with 2 MORE coming on the 20th. Now we learn the origin of the PED Suit (or Phazon Enhancement Device). They came from parts of Space Pirate technology that the Marines of the Galactic Fed. are utilizing.
EDIT: I was gonna post them earlier today, but they were apparently taken off. GamesRadar had vids of the first hour of the game...that is until they were removed, probably because of Nintendo.
However, the vids have now been uploaded to YouTube. I doubt they'll be up for long, so if you wanna spoil yourself, go ahead and do so.
Maybe its an original Mother Brain after all. Always though ti was weird the sucker kept coming back (Ridley too Didn't he get enough?)
Maybe its just one that was made by the government for the Federation, and the SPACE Pirates went rogue-taking that Brain with them. But...my thing is why is it always a FEMALE brain that comes after Samus like a bat outta hell. There has to be something about Samus that makes "Mother" Brains loco.
Seeing as I haven't played part 2-i dunno how much I missed...Yet I'm grabbing 3 up.
The videos are up! We now know where the second Mother Brain came from, Metroids can survive in space, and the Morph ball is SERIOUS BUSINESS.
Also two more vids on the 23rd!
i absolutely love how the "bowling" video they show has no relevance to the title till the last two seconds of film.
this is shaping up to be another stroll down Nintendo memory lane.
For anyone's information... (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
Spoilers (Select To Read): Aurora Unit 313 is NOT Mother Brain. It's the final boss, in which Dark Samus merges with it. This is from the new strategy guide.
>> Man Shadic...that makes no sense.
I don't know how to do spoiler tags so I'll shush my opinion.
Spoiler tags are used with (and of course, no space between the bracket and slash). =)
Spoilers (Select To Read): Of course, I still have no idea why Dark Samus is using Aurora Unit 313. I'm gonna assume that it merges with it because that way, it'd be able to control all of the other linked Aurora units, since all Aurora units are interlinked, and mass destruction could occur.
It looks like we have a review. A big-ass one, too. :O
LOL OMG WARNING: REVIEW IS FROM IGN!!!!!
You probably already clicked the link.
I tried to warn you. :O
Spoilers (Select To Read): The review praises the game.
Is that a bad thing?
I'm still waiting for Gamespot's review, because I wanna see if they can cause another big riot (8.8 anyone?).
EDIT:
Matt C: Players who journey deep enough into Samus Aran's Wii quest can use Aran's scan visor to read lore and lob enemies and objects. Doing just that on one mid-game world, we stumbled upon a panel with the following message, quoted verbatim below:
"Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion."
Spoilers (Select To Read): Mother Brains are interlinked. So that explains why all Auroras hate Samus. K. I'll leave that be.
Btw, before I continue-Metroids in space=scary as all hell.
Now. Combining Dark Samus with the Aurora unit may give D.Samus pure interconnectivity, but then...yeah that's gonna lead to things exploding everywhere, and the ability to make other Brains come from left field to attack Samus....ok yeah. That last battle is gonna suck.

Fixed it for you. You need HTML formatting selected for it to work. ~ HSW

OH SNAP FORESHADOWING
Thx HSW.
Its not a bad review....but where's the inevitable 3.9 from Sony Resistance XD.
Just got the game today, and it's giving me a headache right now. Not saying I hate it, because I love it. I'm just stuck in this one area for about 30 minutes now. Pretty insane.
Hey, if Bioshock gets slapped with a 9.0, Metroid Prime 3 gets an 8.5. That's the way things work.
Actually, I'm making fun of Gamespot and their apparent need to be the wet blanket reviewers.
"Hey look, people are loving this game!"
"THOSE BASTARDS! Give it a score a full point under what it deserves, make up some stuff to pseudo-justify it and put the review out right on release day! WE SHALL MILK THE HITS FOR ALL THEY'RE WORTH!"
I haven't trusted Gamespot since the same reviewer who gave Tony Hawk 3 a perfect 10 gave Zelda:TP the infamous 8.8.
I was about to make some comment about how 8.5 and 9.0 scores are still considered "great", and that maybe GameSpot is just more selective about the games it gives a "perfect" rating to, since they still give them "great" reviews. And then I read the last line of Troy's post.
What. The. Crap.
That's screwed up right there.
Tell me about it!
Tony Hawk 2 was the superior Hawk.
Just destroyed the Leviathan at Bryyo, and I just got to Elysia (the world that we know as the "Cloud City" map).
Samus Spoilers (Select To Read): pukes out phazon. It was nasty. D=
