Nintendo is releasing the entire Prime Trilogy on one disc for the Wii in August for North America, I'm not sure about the PAL region though. It will have all three titles and all use the Wii controls! Even though I've played all three, I'll probably get this just to experience the first 2 with Wii controls cuz MP3 was awesome!

Let me know when they adapt these to 2D and I'll buy it. I'd honestly love to see these in 2D.

What you don't like the Prime games? I love them about as much as the 2D games; my least favorite is Hunters though I still like it.

3D Metroid is just awkward at least for me. It may because I'm not terribly comfortable with FPS (Or games with elements of it) or even the control scheme but I love 2D Metroid, darnit.

I'll likely get it as I never got far in 1 or 2 and I still don't have 3.

And yes, a new 2D Metroid is definitely a must, if Nintendo would realize they have fans who'll buy it.

Er, sorry Robo, IGN only mentions this for North America; I have no idea if it's gonna happen in the UK. In Japan, they released MP 1&2 as separate games under the New Play Control titles.

Well, to be honest, Metroid Prime was my first FPS style game I played for the whole game, only played about 3 lvls of Halo 1, and it took me awhile to get to it. However, believe me using the Wii controls are a lot better than with a gamepad, at least imo.

What Ray said. I loved MP1. 2 was great as well. Didn't get to play 3. Will most definitely be picking this up in the future. MP was my first FPS-esque game I played/owned/enjoyed[since GoldenEye that is]. lol

I shall once again allow the Wii to gather more dust (modded xbox original does a better job at playing bbc iplayer and can output 720p) and not pick up this trilogy. Why might you ask? Well by not purchasing this game I do not want to be seen to be encouraging Nintendo to be allowed to get away with what they are themselves showing off to be the Gamecube 1.5 and therefore might start to concentrate on new games/ips instead of "quick buck" software.

Honestly...i'd think it's safe to say the Wii is pumping out more IPs thn the other consoles. The Conduit, No More Heroes, The Grinder...etc. Not to mention all those party, crazy whatever games...while they may be popping up like weeds...they are IPs, for the most part. But I understand where you're coming from Nuke. But you'd be surprised how many people missed the Prime series...mostly because they missed the GC entirely. xD! So a GC 1.5/2 just might not be too far off, to be honest. Still I love the Wii. Don't even care. This is the year for gaming my friends. Not even halfway through the year yet. *head blows up*

This announcement is kind of meh for me, though the entire trilogy are among the 'games I own, but never got around to playing seriously'.

I sometimes wish I had the hardware skills to build a handheld Gamecube, or the money to have someone with the skills build it for me. As time goes on, I find it harder and harder to set down in front of a TV and play console games.
