TF2 was announced recently, and isn't that the cat's pyjamas?
It's coming out for real this time, hopefully, in conjunction with HL2E2.
Remember how it was supposed to be a realistic millitary simulation, with everythign set in modern day and such?

Yea well not anymore. They're using goofy cel-shades trying to represent a cold war-era, apperently.

I'd much rather the original idea to the cell shading, but it's Team Fortress, so I'll learn to love completely.
Thoughts?

The overall style is not unpleasant, and the giant flamethrower is definitely cool, but overall I certainly would have preferred the realistic TF2 over Team Fortress: The Wind Waker.

But oh well, whaddyagonnado.

Pfft. I've said it before, and I'll say it again until the end of time.

Wake me up when Opposing Force: Source is announced. On that shining moment, the great announcment, will I, GyserHog, spend enough money to upgrade my computer so that it may specifically run Opposing Force: Source at the highest settings, with the smoothest keyboard/mouse inputs and amazing 2325.7 surround sound. Ahmen.

I LURVE the new TF2 art style. It's like No One Lives Forever. Cartoony is the way it needs to stay, because realistic art style in an FPS's are dime a dozen.

So, wait, Gyser, you'd update your computer just to play an expansion pack to HL all over again, given that Half-Life: Source was just Half-Life with prettier lighting, water, and ragdolls (plus frequent glitches, irritatingly)? It's a trap, trust me. Best wait for Black Mesa (for those who've been under a rock for a while, it's essentially a mod that replicates Half-Life while being full-assed about it, instead of half-assed like HL:S), and see if it expands on to anything.

It's fairly safe to assume that OF:S will be as big of an upgrade as CS:S, and therefore worth an upgrade.

I wouldn't see why, since the original Half-Life didn't get such an honor.

What's next? Blue Shift: Source?

Oh right, I forgot what Opposing Force was for a while there.

Yes. Yes I would spend money just to play a prettier Opposing Force.

I would prefer a sequal to Opposing Force, so we can see what happened to poor old Shepard, but OF:S would do me just fine. There aren't many games I go back to as much as Opposing Force.

Well, Gyser, look at it this way. The Portal trailer (which looks awesome, BTW, and quite a bit more professional than its semi-predecessor, Narbacular Drop) features you using the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device".

ASHPD.

Or, maybe, A. SHPD.

I'm glad they're making TF2...but I kinda miss what TF2 was looking like 5 years ago. XD Team Fortress has always been a complete smash to me, I still play it every now and then.
