El Viento!
Holy hell, those graphics haven't aged all that well, have they?
Hm... a toughie? Maybe not.
Maybe on another board from another person.
'Tis MM.
"'Tis!" cried Aunt Helga.
But you might want to spell it out for the uninformed.
It was Majora's Mask, folks. Anyone who got that far could have gotten it, really. It's one of the game's most memorable images.
Anyhow, my turn.
Might be obscure, might not? Recent news may bring it back into the light.
Tomb Raider maybe? 2 if you want a more specific guess.
Nope.
I want to say it was an independent game, but my sources are saying it was just freeware. Like I said, it's very tied into a very prominent recent news item here.
Awww, now I've got it. Not gonna guess though. I've taken my shot. =P
turtle is it spyro the purple dragon thing?
No, it's not from a Spyro game.
<hugs turtle> oh dear dont look so sad, it just looks so difficult to tell.
something that was on the games news? .... i'll give it one last try 😛
is it sonic heroes?
Yep, it's Narbacular Drop, the protoPortal.
waaa why did psxphile had to get it right. he's so tricky with picuters.
i'll give it a try.... it's 8bit graphics...... i think castlevania on the old gameboy.
Not a Castlevania game. But it shares a similar gameplay structure.
It's Faxanadu.
Oh wow, someone else knows about this game?
Heeeeeey, you're not using TinEye, are you? Either way, next time I'll see about getting some original screencaps and not just anything already uploaded and proliferated on the net.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
now i know i can never play around here again it just gets harder.
EDIT: No takers? Clue then. This was a shoot-em-up on the Mega Drive.
EDIT 2: Have another screenshot :3
Empire of Steel
Hahaha! I had a feeling you'd get that one. Though something tells me you maybe had some help from another party =P
but silver,
anyone who knows you should guess that's the game you were refering to, you did mention it to me before... i simply needed that help just to remember the exact name of the game.
you should use that wonderful help to solve my movie quote if you want to get even with me
anyway here's my screenshot entery, guess this game if you can:
*in her mountain lair, GemaJinn pushes chess pieces shaped like Mada and Silv across a giant chessboard*
"Everything is going according to plan..."
Hmm. At a guess I'd say it's from one of the Gradius games, but I'm really not too sure.
EDIT: Oh wait nvm, it's Cyber Speedway~
<bites lip> you're right silver, it is cyber speedway.
couldnt you let me bathe in the glory for a few more days
and turtle .... come to the dungeon i need to speak to you
This might be dead easy, might not.
I'll guess Brawl.
really? i was gonna say phantasy star.
Only one of you has gotten close so far.
So that only counts as close, huh...
Color scheme means it's Phantasy Star Universe. Pic resolution implies it's console, not a handheld PSU. No way to know if it's the original or the expansion/sequel game (can you tell I've never played it?).
that's not an answer silver! you could tell us who was close.
i havent played phantasy star universe either psxphile... i'm sure i saw that now loading thing though.... so my answer is..
PHANTASY STAR ONLINE!!!!
Psxphile gets it. It's Phantasy Star Universe. Technically speaking it's Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus, but as that's basically just an expansion and not a game in and of itself (even if it works stand-alone), I'll not worry about that technicality.
Pic resolution means nothing incidentally - PC lets you play it in anything from 640x480 up, including some widescreen resolutions. And in actual fact this was taken at 1280x1024 and then scaled down so as not to stretch things too much ;p
Yeah I know, it was evil of me :3
Anyway, on you go Psx.
>
psx put a very hard one okay! dont let silver get the next one <storms out angery>
too easy
i'm thinking ... i'm thinking .... it's obviously a PS2 game from the graphics, so i'm gonna say:
Legend of Legaia 2
Shin Megami Tenshi. I...think the second one?
@sonicsfan1991: It's not LoL2, sorry. And on that subject... what a travesty that game was. I loved the first Legaia to death, but the second was simply terrible in execution. Shame Contrail doesn't exist anymore, we'll never see them redeem themselves with a LoL3.
@Neo: oooh, so close
ah if neo was close.... then... persona4.
i'm sure cause it had better images and the screenshot looked nice.
as for legia 2, i agree with you there. its just i really loved the fighting i played it as far as the giants bit but then got bored. the game was much too unrewarding.
i wish i can find more RPGs with that battle system though its fun, like in xenogears and i think grandia3 used it too
Wrong again, sonicsfan... but you and Neo are on the right track.
persona 3?
Nope.
Shin Megami Tensei 3.
Shin Megami Tensei 3.
AAAAAAH-AHAHAHAHAHoh wait, you're right. Apparently Matador is one of those tricky battles that can lay your team flat if you're not well prepared (and few ever are).
isnt persona and shin megami tensei the same thing?
Isn't Persona and Shin Megami Tensei the same thing?
I am not familiar with the series, but I get the impression that Persona is a spin-off from the main series that ended up having several sequels in its own right.
It's as Jeffrey says. As a matter of fact, hardcore SMT fans are pretty adamant that the Persona games have been their own series since the first sequels, and should not be considered a part of the main franchise... despite the fact that Atlus USA continues to preface every Persona game since P3 with the Shin Megami Tensei title (they're trying to build brand recognition to the franchise in the West, so who can blame them?).
i see.
i never owned a persona game .. but i read about them in magazines, now i understand what its all about thanks for the explination you two.
