... In a form of a remake
Source: Wii Fanboy
A new Klonoa game from Namco Bandai, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, is being developed for Wii, according to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. It's a remake of the first Klonoa game on the PSOne, which also happens to be called Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (you can read up on it at Wikipedia here). The presentation, as you can see above, is cel-shaded, bright and colorful, maintaining the look of the franchise. We like it, to be honest. And, as is custom with the Klonoa games, expect this title to have plenty of platforming segments to go through.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile is scheduled for a December 4th release in Japan.
Though the core gameplay will probably be left untouched, and the game looked pretty good on the PSOne already... I hope this move helps bolster newfound interest in the series.
I've never played Door to Phantomile because it could never find it, but I did played and enjoyed Lunatea's Veil.
I hope this remake will give Klonoa more success in the long run as well (North America in general).
Considering how rare the first game must be and my knowledge of the game didn't come until Lunatea's Veil (which I recently bought for cheap), I really do pray for an American release.
This looks pretty awesome, I want to check this out.
WAAAAANT
Is it just me or is it not quite as bright as you'd want it to be...like all the colours are about two tones darker than I'd like.
Otherwise it looks great, the Wii definitely needs more traditional games and the industry needs more platformers.
