Todays update was a new item, the Smoke Ball. It, well, releases smoke. oo
I like disco.
Hahahah this could be very helpful if you have a special attack charged and ready or something and people are always ready to block it. With the smoke they[and you, but I guess you'll just have to keep up with your character somehow] couldn't see where you were coming from. I suppose. Then again if Final Smashes don't have to be used the moment you get a Smash Ball and like held onto until you're ready...smoke ball would be a good help. Neat update.
Wow, they barely dumbed Aether down at all. Can't say I expected that. No-flich moves are the perfect way to make the big lugs more useable and I hadn't even considered it; I'm looking forward to Bowser even more now.
wow... HSW beat you all
Guess this confirms Ike's status as a heavy character.
Eruption can be charged. Cool, cool. And Aether looks pretty mean. =]
With Ike being made a heavy character, I wonder how much post-execution lag Aether will have, since the heavyweights tend to have that kind of lag to spare.
New Update: Kid Icarus Music
If you've heard the original's music, this is very faithful to it. My favorite music update yet.
I've never played Kid Icarus, so I don't have that feeling of nostalgia. This morning, I was listening to the original music, thanks a vid of the first few levels on YouTube. From what I've heard, this sticks VERY close to the original.
Today was Pits Final Smash.
Go check it out. Words can not describe its awesomeness.
Hahahah, no kidding Gyser. That's some bad@$$ schick. Pit seems like a pretty cool character...I may have to give him try when I get this.
Well, we all knew an Earthbound update was coming sooner or later...don't like a lot of us expected an item to be the first thing.
I like it, it's pretty. I'm quite sure it isn't going to, but I hope it doesn't block thrown items. Hell, maybe it doesn't even block physical projectiles like Link's arrows.
No new character this week? I guess it would be logical to assume we'll be seeing Ness sometime soon.
Franklin Badge looks cool, but more characters are going to need projectile attacks for it to be really desireable.
Peach, Captain Falcon, Luigi, Snake, Sheik, Falco, Ness, some other Earthbound guy, another newcomer never mentioned prior...any of them could be the next character update. We could see Ness on Monday, we could see him in November. The updates have a bit of a pattern to them, but it's not absolute.
As for my opinion on the badge, which I managed to forget to elaborate on...there's not much to elaborate on. It's pretty. I'll probably pick it up because of that and that alone; I honestly don't regard projectiles as a threat. I have no problem dodging them or catching them and the whole strafe while shoot thing isn't going to change that. If you think I sound arrogant, you're welcome to prove me wrong when we get online.
oh, and *don't like a lot of us -> don't think a lot of us
I'm concerned. The presence of such a badge can mess with the balance. Fox for instance would be far less effective without his spamgun (he took lessons from Cable), but it's pretty cool I guess.
MOAR UPDATES! MOAR!!!
This week sucked, for sure. I think it's the worst week of updates since the week of "YOU MUST RECOVER!!!". As much as I like today's update, that alone can't make up for how bad this week was.
About the update...looks like Sakurai is cluing more towards Mother 3 than Earthbound, seeing how that design of the Franklin Badge, IIRC, was shipped with the Mother 3 box set last year. Once again, I prefer Lucas over Ness, so I hope to see him in.
Wikipedia tells me about Melee "The main character of Mother 3, Lucas, was supposed to replace Ness, but because the game was delayed, Ness was kept."
So there's probably a good chance we'll see him here.
^That is indeed true.
Hahahha no kidding Craig. When Marvel meets Nintendo. =P Anywho, I didn't think this week was all that bad. Today's update looks nice[as said already], but i'm not too sure if i'm going to like it all that much. Fox/Falco's ability to reflect gave them a super advantage, IMO. As for your arrogance HSW, give me Falco[he better as heck be in this game] and we're on. =]]
Who the hell gives a toss about Japanese release.
Or American release.
WHEN THE HELL IS THE SODDING EUROPEAN RELEASE?!
Japanese and Americans respectively, I presume.
AHAHAH! Now, now Pach. You all will get your date soon. Just go back to your RPG playing. XP
...;-;
This means people have protection against my Samus pwnage.
On a side note, it would at least force me to do something different every now and then. It was kinda unfair for anyone who wasn't Fox/Falco/Mario/Link when faced with a skilled long-range Samus player.
So true about Samus, Silver. ;_; I always get pawned by my cousin who only uses Samus.
I prefer using Yoshi. Not sure why, but I play the best with him.
Oh, and here is some conformation about Sonic in Brawl? =O
On a total different note, this is fake but, someone made a whole bunch of Kirby Hats for SSBB.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjDtMaLCetU&mode=related&search=
Nah, those videos are fake as well. The "Sonic in the screen" thing was already debunked, and the second video is just someone with Photoshop and too much time.

Spamming missles and charged shots doesn't mean you're pwning. It just means you spam missles and charged shots.
Pawning is for assorted odd items and trinkets. Remember that.

Missiles should only be used as a distraction after readying a charged shot. They think you're firing your charged shot, do their defense, realise too late they've been tricked, and get hit by the charged shot just after their shield goes down/they land their jump/whatever. Also, Samus is one of the best characters for item throwing, and this should also be taken advantage of at long ranges.
This isn't to say samus can't own at close ranges either, but long range is where Samus players deal the best damage.
BADASS!
Red/Ash (Pokmon Trainer) is our new challenger!
Charizard. I chose YOU!
Damm you Craig!! *Shake fist*
I wanted to post this one!
To expand on Craig, the trainer himself does not actually fight. Instead he used Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard to fight for him. Pressing Special + Down swaps between them in a certain order (Squirtle > Ivysaur > Charizard).
They all share the same damage metre, but also have a hidden stamina metre. If you fight with one for too long, or switch between them too much, it's bad for them. How so isn't explained.
I always thought how awesome it would be to play as the trainer and be able to use a multitude of different monsters like Yu-Gi-Oh in JSS/JUS... this is great
This is nice but I'd prefer being able to play as them without mentally hilarious spectator/stamina/switching systems governing them. Their FS's will be the elemental Hyper Beam clones, I guess.
I wonder if changing the trainer's costume/colour will affect the Pokemon. In that vein, I wonder if Blue* is avilable as a skin. If she is then I automatically don't hate the idea as much but would still rather they were individually playable.
*The girl from the manga and FRLG, not Game Gary.
I place 5 on Charizard being the worst of the trio.
Red is the Zelda of Brawl. Except with 3 'transformations'
Also, since you can't over use one of them, it's better that way so people who are 'tier lovers' won't use just of them.
The fact that this makes Squirtle playable means this update is made of infinite win.
uh, no sir...
The fact that Charizard is now playable makes it WIN.
Yeah, that's right, I like my game to be hard right from the get go.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
@ all of the naysayers from at least last year who denied Red/PKMN Trainer from the start.
*jaw drops*
Japanese Blue/English Green as a costume for the ultimate win <3
I wonder if we could hit the Trainer. That would be so much easier. You could just knock him out in one hit. XD
I wonder if we could control the Trainer. What about stages like Poke Floats appear; how is he going to catch up?
Me and my friends had this idea ages ago. Although we imagined you'd actually control the trainer, and he would be able to throw pokeballs for special moves. Anyways, best update so far. Awesome.
I think I recognize this guy, but I've never heard of him or the game he's from...odd.
lol @ Link jumping ship.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_World
I had no idea until someone provided this Wiki article. I haven't even heard of the game. I've seen Tamagon once before, but I've never seen Devil.
How many of you want to place bets on when Jack Thompson will rant about this game now?
I give it a month
All I know is...if i'm whooping up on someone and they get this damn AT i'm going to be pissed. But I love the madness and chaos this guy will cause. ^^
Two of the characters look like Waddle Dee
That game is a level on Tetris DS!
Stickers... yay, now Scrapbookers will be playing SSBB =
