As we're currently in the worst update situation since the beginning, the whiners have a little more meat to them than usual. Staying up and/or expecting something is still silly, though. Even so, the dojo could at least have stuck to the 1-character-a-week thing.
With just the top of the picture of Suicune at the bottom of my screen, I thought it was Misdreavous.

You know I getting annoy at all the Pokemon characters. C'mon Sakurai gives us Metroid, Star Fox or Kid Icarus characters but enough with the Pokemon.
They need to use some of the obscure characters. Y'know, the ones that hardly anyone remembers.
I'm sure they will. I just can't imagine how much stuff is in this game. 10 hour single player game[which im sure is exaggerated it's probably more like 7 at most], a ton of pokemon and final smashes, 3rd party charaters, etc. I don't think this game will let us down.

That "X" game is pretty freakin' cool. It's basically Star Fox for the original Game Boy before Star Fox and the SFX chip. Amazing stuff.

To be honest, I kind of would. I appreciate the updates, but if they're going to continue with them then they need to at least throw a bone every now and again. It's been nearly a month since we've had a worthwhile update that hasn't been a rehash of something we already know; or something that is barely newsworthy. At the very least they need to announce Captain Falcon or a new stage, or something. If not then I'd prefer they slow the updates down and only post decent stuff. It honestly feels like Sakurai is just posting things at the moment for the sake of having something to post.

If you are battling someone you don't know, and you drop your connection, the battle doesn't end. the CPU just takes over
EDIT: Also, if you battle someone who is using a character you haven't unlocked yet, you will have a fight with that char afterwards... He isn't worrying about secrets ruined, thanks to the internet.

Are you sure that is what he means? I figured it means that the player would just get a quick cameo of the hidden fighter until they learn how to unlock it. Your way would make it that they could unlock everything with just a few purposeful friend matches.
Also, haven't you noticed that the character select screen and stage lineout in the update is from the beta demo used in the recent small gaming conventions? If you count all the characters we know now, the selection windows will have to be smaller.

I didn't like the update at first, but when you think about it, Bonsly isn't so bad. It adds a bit more strategy to where you throw the pokeballs, this time. Rather than try and aim all of them as close to the enemy as possible, if you do that with Bonsly, you risk giving your opponent a weapon.

True, true. Didn't think of it like that. I wonder if it'll be one of those pokemon that does like crazy damage and sends you flying when you hit it, or will it just do a bit of damage and not send you flying off. I remember freakin' Charizard on 64 Smash...he was killer crazy.
According to Sakurai:
"Even if an opponents damage meter is below 50%, this thing packs enough power to potentially knock him or her off.
You may only get hit once in a while, but if you do, watch out!!"
So in other words, it's pretty damn powerful.
It's a heavy item, so hits with that are going to be about as frequent as with boxes and barrels: not that often against against any non-scrub.

I've only got three friends to play with, so yawn from me.
This is a pretty good mode, since I have more than 3 friends and rotation's always been an issue. Of course, there doesn't need to be a whole mode for this since we managed to get along fine without one, but I guess it helps make things easier?
Lame update. Really what is the point of having this mode when I can just give my friend my controller. C'mon Sakurai gives us a news stage or character.

Heh. True that. I like that they've put it in as a mode. It does make things easier...and easier = better. Most of the time...sometimes...rarely ever but you get the point. >_<
There was no need for a rotation mode. Any civilized person should know how to switch the controller to somebody else who wasn't playing before.
Although, when there are more people, I guess this makes things orderly. But the odds of getting 7+ people is rare in the first place.
If a Tekken-style team battle mode isn't in the game, this update will piss me off by timestream-proxy. There's thinking of everything, and there's thinking of anything.
My last post - now dead and buried - has been augmented with Hatted Grit, which makes it 5 times better. Incidentally, that's half the reason I'm even posting this.

I still wanted more information about it. This is a good thing.
After giving it a proper listen I really like it, and that's quitean achievement for something Ice Climbers related. I think it'd actually be pretty suitable for this stage.
Mario Circuit is one of the last things we know of that they've been holding out on. Now give Zelda an update already{not all special moves but down damnit}.
Edit: Apparently, the CoroCoro special will be 30 pages long. If they put at least one character on each page, we'll get a few new ones. I don't think anyone's getting their hopes up though.
Edit 2: Cards, not characters, January, not December. I guess what we'll get on Saturday is still going to be unspectacular.
Fun, fun course. Doubt i'll play on it much, but still...looks like lot of fun. As for that CoroCoro special...had no idea this was coming soon. I'm sure something good will come from it.
Since Serebii got more early pokemon corocoro stuff again, people have asked him about Brawl. BrawlinNess on smashboards says that he's told him that Falcon, Meta Ridley, Luigi{poultergust included}, Ashley Manor, Port Town and Fountain of Dreams are all featured in this month's issue.
If any of this is true I think we'll be seeing some of it Friday/Monday on the dojo.
