Ok I give you that one, Pach. =P I thought the Gooey Bomb and Super Smash move thing was a pretty good piece of news too, Matt.
Considering we get a piece of new every week day, I wouldn't expect anything major until it's closer to launch. Also even small new will get people talking about it, we may as well be glad that they're giving it out so frequently rather than having months of nothing, which was the case until now.
Well, as long as THIS isn't an update in the future...
I'll be happy. =)
HAHAHAHAHAAHA! But yea Robo I agree, this is better than how it was before.
So now as opposed to long stretches of nothing we get OH HAY GUYS YOU CAN STILL JUMP
Indeed Wonder. And with that we would get a heavenly image or two. =)
We literally just got told that it's still possible to jump.
Not just jump...Mid-Air Jump. *gasps* I'm still pleased, even if it doesn't seem like I am. I know this game is going to rock. It'll probably break records and schick.
Today was Pikachu and Kirby as playable characters. ZOMFG totally didn't see that coming!
As for yesterdays update, I was out having a social life. =P
Also, Pach, take a chill pill. We're having fun with it. If you're not, the back button is at the top of your browser. If you can't be a sun, etc.
That doesn't change the fact that the update sucked horribly. Seriously. =/
And we all know that the majority of updates are gonna be worthy for veteran players. >_>
Seriously, they're not gonna show anything 'worthy' until after E3. And even then, it'll be slow.
So Kirby's still pretty much as he was in Melee. I remember someone saying they wanted him to be more like he was in the first one. Oh well, he wasn't that bad in Melee. But yea most of these updates won't be much for the veterans. =/
Just because he has the same moves doesn't mean he won't be the same. They could have improved the moves (or make them worse)
Am I the only one here who has enough know how of Smash?

I am 100% aware that this process is going to be slow, but still. I don't think there's any newcomer as of right now who would give a damn about going to the website and trying to find out the basic instructions and mechanics of this game. They save that for the instruction booklet. Also, it's the fact that Sakurai could've added more to that update, but no. He didn't. Seriously, if you're trying to defend that update, there's no need to, because it unanimously sucked the biggest piece of ass out there.

Don't get too carried away.
I thought it said Kirby would play much like he did in Melee. I was referring to his move set. But oh yea i'm sure they've improved on them. They better have. *shakes fist* =P

Too late for that!
And HyperSonic, if you have read more carefully, it said he hasn't changed much in APPEARANCE.
V2, don't forget there is no longer an E3. There's no reason to hold back secrets except advertising when the game is near released.
Yet, the game is nowhere near release. Besides, if they show all the big stuff now, (hidden characters and hidden stages etc) people will complain about being spoiled.
Besides, this is Nintendo we're talking about. If you didn't expect secretcy from them now, you is crazy.

Yes there is. Only thing is, it's now in July, and is so incredibly scaled back that it's more or less E3 in name only.

Although it's downsized and more harder to get in, E3 is next month, July 11-13. Even though they got rid of the booths and other big things, the companies still hold their press conferences. Nintendo's yet to reveal their lineup, but seeing how this is one of Nintendo's 2007 killer-apps, it should definitely be at E3 this year.
EDIT: Whoops, SH beat me to it. Thanks buddy. =)
D'oh! >_< You got me there V2. I need to read more carefully. lol But yea, I was going to say what SH and Shadic said. I'm too late now so i'm pretty much worthless. u_u
It's being referred to as mini-E3.
Half the flash. None of the fat (we hope).
Today's update brought to us the news that there will be four different ways of controlling our characters in SSBB.
Wiimote held sideways
Wiimote + Nunchuck
Classic controller
Gamecube controller
Sakurai didn't say how smashes and dashes would be performed with the Wiimote, saying "If I get the chance to tell you, I will."
Gamecube control for the win.
:DDDDDD @ the potential for the wiimote and nunchuck being used. If done properly it could be awesome.
"I like the feel of that powerful rumble". >_> Anyway I was surprised to see 4 ways to play it. I know GC controller will be most familar but Classic could be fun too. Wiimote and Nun could be a hassle, but fun no doubt. Good update, IMO.
Can anyone refresh me as to why we no longer have E3?
I think its because developers were complaining that it was getting too expensive.
Which is silly because it was one of the few times where gaming was taken as seriously as movies and spoke with one voice.
Finally! Now people won't be asking stupid questions about the controller
Yay... I'm really interested how the Wiimote+ Nunchuck controls. If it's going to be in smash, it must be pretty smooth.
The possibilities are endless...
Also the E3 thing was based on rushed projects I believe. Companies had to hurry and make a full length trailer if not playable demo of one of their "big games" coming out later. I doubt that was thagt big of deal now that /I tink about it though. So yea what John said. >_< I will miss the ever hige, highly antincipated E3. Gaming was taken for real then. =/
Fox is up now.
sup gyser
STOP
AUSTRALIA TIME
lol gtfo my ssbb thread psx
YOUR thread...? >_>
Quote:
Fox is just one of many so-called speed characters
.
Mmmm one of many speed characters. Interesting. A foreshadowing to a certain blue hedgehog perhaps .
Not really?
Melee had alot of speed characters, usually variants on power characters like Falco and Ganondorf. Falcooooo-PAAAAAAAAANCH! then you have the Kirby, Yoshi, Jigglypuff etc class of character who are speed/light-weight.
To think that "many speed characters" is a sign of Sonic is reading what you want to see.
XDXD! @ Psx, SH and Gyser. Oh man. Yes Fox's outfit looks great. Wow, i'll be afraid to even hit him, not wanting to mess up his new threads. *shot* Anyway yea Shadonic, but there is Captain Falcon, Pika, and some others i'm sure i'm forgetting. =P anyway, nice update...would've liked a moveset or something. But still sweet pics.
Let's get some things straight about characters as far as chances are concerned:
Just because a musician from another games is composing music doesn't mean that character from said game (ex Sora, NiGHTS) is going to be in.
Just because a certain stage is in (Isle Defino) doesn't mean a character from that game is in (Bowser Jr. even though he does have high chances)
And just because it says one character is a something type character (Fox) doesn't mean another similar type character is in (Sonic)
That is all. And Fox looks good, but now I dread seeing Falco.
Dread seeing Falco? How do we know he's in the game?! I bet he'll look great though...that is my guy from melee. =)
Everything V2 said in his post is correct.
And now we have 6 characters with their profiles up. Good, just a little more...
Dread seeing Falco?
Have you the new look for this guy. He looked retarded.
Yeah, Falco easily got the worst deal with the Command redesigns. Honestly he looks like a 7-year-old designed him.
Oh snap, he does look awful. Man Fox's new look is pretty terrible as well. Who redesigned these characters and what were they smoking?
I'm not going to look when they show Falco. I can't have him looking weird. A large anthropodic falcon looking weird just isn't right.
New update: Yoshi's Island. Seasonal changes in the stage is confirmed, as well as ghosts and Shy Guys. Ehh, the stage from the 2nd trailer.
Craig thought that a Paper Mario stage. lol
It does look Paper Mario like.
The stage is pretty bland, IMO. Not to mention pretty small. The season changes are pretty cool though. I'm hoping they have some sort of effect on the stage, like during winter, the entire stage becomes slippery to walk on.
Lalalala the only stage I care about is Final Destination lalala get to the new stuff please
Final Destination was cool at first. Then everyone I knew that played Smash only wanted to play that stage. Then FD got boring to play.
It's not even completey fair either. A spamming Fox, Falco, and Samus will run away from you and start spamming
