So here's an interesting topic I'd like to bring up for people to discuss, and that's what kind of games or franchises would you like to see a 3DS game of? They don't have to neccessarily be ports or remakes of existing games (although they certainly could), but what would you like to see eventually released for the system?
I'd love to see an F-Zero game in 3D. Game would be awesomely mental and trippy in 3D. An Ace Attorney sequel (featuring Apollo please!) would be pretty cool especially with puzzles in 3D and I certainly wouldn't say no to a Ghost Trick sequel.
I also really really want a Majora's Mask remake or a Wind Waker port. I never really thought OoT was that great a Zelda game. Sure, it's definitely a good game but in comparison to some of the other 3D Zelda games it's blown out of the water, especially by MM. That giant, creepy moon looking at you in 3D? Yes please. I'd also like to see a decent, online version of Four Swords on there. The gamecube version was genius although the costs of having to have a gamecube, 4 gbas and 4 link cables made it a bit unwieldly, but an online version would be terrific!
Also want FF5 and FF6 remakes (and a higher definition remake of 6 and 7 for the NGP). And definitely an Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents sequel.
Aside from the Wind Waker port/remake, I'd definitely have to agree with all of your suggestions. We really could use a new EBA game... And I would have rather had a new Apollo Justice than Miles Edgeworth 2.
Obviously I'd love to see a Link's Awakening 3D remake, but I doubt that would happen anytime soon.
What I'd really love is a new Star Fox game. Playing the star fighter levels in Halo Reach reminded me how much I love (and miss) Star Fox.
With all this talk of Legend of Zelda, I would like to see a collection of Zelda I, Zelda II, Awakening, OoS, and OoA with both the originals and remakes that bring the controls, sound, and graphics up to par with LttP. Then throw in LttP for good measure.
In general, I would rather keep remakes of 2-D games in 2 dimensions.
Hm, a Zelda spin-off that isn't Tingle, with the Zelda II battle system would be quite nice.
Metroid Dread and/or Return of Samus remake. Classic 2-D but with spiffed-up visuals that meet and surpass Super. NO TEAM NINJA, give it back to Intelligent Systems.
On the 3rd party front, I'd like to see someone take up the cause and create a spiritual successor/sequel/remake to The Guardian Legend (Guardic Gaiden in Japan). A game from the (apparently brilliant) minds at Compile, mixing shoot'em up (shmup?) and action-adventure genres and creating a one-of-a-kind experience, with an incredible soundtrack that rests comfortably among the greatest of 8-bit NES tunes. Compile has long since folded, and who can say for sure who's got the copyrights to the property now. But if could be secured, it would be nice to see this game again in some form.
Personally I'd love to see Breath of Fire make a comeback on the system, less for the 3D and more for the only features. I'd say something like BoF meets Phantasy Star Zero or Dragon Quest IX in terms of what I mean, online four player co-op, big open world full of mysteries, but also an interesting storyline with Nina returning of course. You'd basically make Ryu however you like, and for online be able to use the other races in the franchise when creating your character. It's not something I've thought too much on, but I used to really want a BoF MMO, and I'd rather something like this these days.
NINTENDO REVEALS LAUNCH-DAY LINEUP OF 18 NINTENDO 3DS GAMES
With More Than 30 Games Total Launching by Early June, There's Something for Everyone
REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 22, 2011 – On day one, new Nintendo 3DS™ owners will have plenty of video games to keep them busy. Nintendo and its third-party publishing partners have made sure that people who buy a system on March 27 will be able to choose from a variety of experiences that leverage the system's new features. A steady and diverse stream of games of all kinds will keep the fun going, with more than 30 Nintendo 3DS games total launching before the E3 Expo in early June.
"Seeing 3D visuals without the need for special glasses is just one aspect of Nintendo 3DS," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "The real test of any system is whether the games and applications draw you in and keep you engaged. Through the launch window and beyond, Nintendo 3DS delivers."
On March 27, new Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to choose from the following Nintendo-published games, each available at a suggested retail price of $39.99:
Pilotwings Resortâ„¢, an aerial adventure featuring airplanes, hang gliders and rocket belts. Players soar above tropical Wuhu Island in 3D as they complete missions or snap pictures.
Steel Diverâ„¢, a submarine game that involves strategy and combat. The 3D visuals give players the sensation that they are looking into a miniature aquarium as they control the sub's speed, depth and pitch, and fire torpedoes.
nintendogs™ + cats, a game that lets players interact with realistic puppies – and kittens – in a variety of fun ways. There are three versions of the software, each with different starting breeds: French bulldog, toy poodle and golden retriever. But in each version players can unlock and enjoy more than 20 different breeds.
Other Nintendo 3DS games in the works for 2011 from Nintendo include The Legend of Zeldaâ„¢: Ocarina of Timeâ„¢ 3D, Star Fox 64â„¢ 3D, Kid Icarusâ„¢: Uprising and new installments in the Mario Kartâ„¢ series.
Third-party publishers also have a strong slate of games ready to go on March 27. These include:
Super Street Fighter® IV 3D Edition from CAPCOM
The Simsâ„¢ 3 from EA
Madden NFL Football from EA SPORTS
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D from Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
LEGO® Star Wars® III: The Clone Wars™ from LucasArts™
RIDGE RACER® 3D from NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.
Super Monkey Ballâ„¢ 3D from SEGA
BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSEâ„¢ from Square-Enix, Inc.
SAMURAI WARRIORS®: Chronicles from TECMO KOEI AMERICA Corp.
Asphaltâ„¢ 3D from UBISOFT
Combat of Giantsâ„¢: Dinosaurs 3D from UBISOFT
Rayman® 3D from UBISOFT
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Shadow Wars from UBISOFT
Nintendo 3DS also comes pre-loaded with a variety of fun games, applications and features, such as the Nintendo 3DS camera, which can be used to take photos in 2D and 3D as well as be used in other games and applications. For instance, the built-in Face Raidersâ„¢ game asks users to shoot at funny depictions of their own photographed faces, while the Mii Makerâ„¢ application lets gamers use the camera to take a picture of a person and have an automatic Miiâ„¢ character created. The system also comes with six AR Cards, which, when viewed through the outer cameras, bring to life fun and interesting animations and images. For example, when used with nintendogs + cats, users might see their puppies or kittens sitting on their coffee tables or in the palms of their hands. With Nintendo 3DS Sound, users can enjoy sound-manipulation tools or rock out with their Nintendo 3DS system while listening to their MP3 or AAC music files.
Nintendo 3DS is also able to play nearly every game in the massive Nintendo DS library, except those that require use of a secondary Game Boyâ„¢ Advance slot.

That's quite a selection. But I don't really see any must-haves I would want. Pilotwings sounds like a shoo-in on reputation alone, but having it set on Wii Resort's Wuhu Island seems kind of limiting, when Pilotwings 64's locale was, like, an entire continent. Steel Diver sounds like a shoot-em-up but underwater. Could be fun... but it's an unproven IP so I'll wait for Japanese impressions. Street Fighter seems the safest choice... but do I really want to play a console fighter on my handheld? And I prefer real dogs + cats to the virtual, so nintendogs + cats has really no appeal for me.
What to do, what to do...
omg psx does it need thinking? Icarus: Uprising for sure.
that games is hot and i been drooling over the hero ever since i saw that game, its anime and its like Nights ... its two of the best things possible.
thought thanks for the news XD its something to look forward to

Pretty sure he's talking about launch titles...
Yeah I'm in the wait and see boat as well. Probably will grab either Pilotwings or Steel Diver, and possibly SSFIV3D.
The Nintendo 3DS went on sale yesterday in Japan.
As of today, the entire first shipment is sold out. 400k units were snapped up by rabid consumers in the span of 24 hours, completely decimating Nintendo's previous record of 400k units in 4 days set by the original DS.
Wow, if this is anywhere indicative of how well it will sell in the states, I'm glad I preordered my 3DS already.
Well, if the Rayman game has no rabid rabbits, then I'll give it a shot.
Other words, I'll be (PATIENTLY) waiting for MML3
Then it should be as good as the original (as perceived).
Again? Isn't that what they ported to the DS right off the bat too?
:/ Yeah nothing noteworthy. Wish somehow they'd made a third game in the Guardian Heroes storyline, I wasn't too much a fan of GH Advance..
3DS Store To Include Game Gear And Turbografx Games.
Does what it says on the box. Smooth addition getting those on there Ninty.
Whew, awesome!
Yes. This is what I'm taking about. Access to concrete classics. Whoa Pokemon Red all over again, lol.
Huh. Would you look at that.
I buy game machines to play GAMES. That being said, I guess having options like that is nice too.
I like to be able to do extra stuff on my game systems... All these extras just make the deal sweeter for me. Having Netflix on my 3DS (not just standard but FREAKING 3D NETFLIX OMG) is something my Droid 2 can't even do 8O. Confirmation of 3D video capture abilities is nice as well =)
Something else was announced at GDC, odd no one here is talking about it...
No one's talking about it because other than a logo there's no information about it at all, and its not like anyone thought there'd never be a Mario 3DS game. Sure, the logo's got a tail on it and that can lead to some speculation but not much, really.
Any new Mario game that even hints at connections to SMB3 or World will always be a winner in my book. Will wait for more info.
Whew, one more week until the 3DS comes out!!! Can hardly wait; please March 27th don't be late!
I keep hearing that DS games don't look good on the 3DS screen. I hope this isn't true. It'd be a bit of a drag to have to keep a DS around just for that.
I saw a video that someone posted on their blog or whatever trying to say they looked bad, but imho, it didn't look bad at all. Here it is actually.
Real tough to make out there. I think it's just something you'll have to test out on your own before making a purchase but thanks for the link.
Tried it at Best Buy last week. Took a couple seconds for the 3D to click, but it was pretty awesome. I'll be getting the system and Street Fighter on Sunday, and then I'll figure out if I want Steel Diver or Pilot Wings later after the reviews come in.

I see Shadow Hog is still fighting the good fight.
Tried it out at Best Buy a few days ago. It's not for people who have lazy eye. Granted, tweaking can probably be done with an in-your-hands production model. Having said that, the kiosk display model was impossible to get around my eye issue to get the proper 3D effect out of it. D¦
My 3DS arrived today. Let me just say that this thing is absolutely amazing. Face Raiders is hilariously fun, the AR cards are very, very neat, and all of th other little options are sweet too. Games wise, Pilotwings is pretty nifty is albeit extremely basic, and Super Street Fighter IV 3D quite simply blew me away. It IS the console versions on a portable. Bloody incredible. I especially like the touchscreen button input for moves, helps me to play and use moves that I'm otherwise skillless to use.
The 3DS NEEDS a MvC3 port. It damn well NEEDS it.
Incredible.
Sweet. I've decided to grab those two as well. Toys R Us will have a Buy 1, Get 1 50% off on Sunday, so I'll match their ad at Best Buy when I pick mine up on Sunday morning.

Hiro. Excuse me? Where do you live? I NEED that type of deal in my life....Is this for games or for 3DS's :O?
I live in the magical land of the CheapAssGamer.
Kmart is awesome, and is giving a $25 game coupon for games when you buy a 3DS.
Amazon is doing something similar: $25 dollars credit when you preorder a 3DS (but it's limited by the fact that it's only good towards these games). Also you have to wait until after your 3DS ships before you receive the credit.
Not only that, but they've also got a $10 promotional credit going with 3DS games in general (towards a 2nd 3DS game), so that's a potential $35 in savings right there.
Yeah, saw that as well... and they are throwing in a free accessory with the 3ds purchase as well. I would have considered getting games from there if I didn't have to wait for them to apply the credit.
i just tried the 3DS today XD it was soooooooooooo neat i played cammy in street fighter. the effect was really neat the background and characters just felt so real even if cartoonish, its just so awsome though felt like those children popup books where some things are flat but infront and others at the back. i get how they did it, its such a great idea. oh i also liked the camera feature .. i want to buy it even if its 300 dollars now its still too expensive for me i'll wait a little later besides i cant buy anything until a sonic game is released in it.
and i really wish there were movies for the 3DS it would be neat. btw i think i know why they cant make 3D tvs with the same technology, what makes the 3D effect works without the glasses in the 3DS is how close our eyes are to the tv.
anyway i'm so happy it wasnt that expensive. i'll try buying it in the next few months. i'm saving up for the duke.
I don't think it's so much how close your eyes are to the 3DS or TV, it's the angle in which you're viewing it. If you noticed with the 3DS if you're not looking at it in just the right sweet spot angle then everything goes blurry.
well more double vision than blurry, btw for you who dont wear glasses that's how we 4eyes see without our glasses.. its so unclear and annoying. god bless whoever made glasses. oh and anyone who bought the 3DS did you get dizzy playing it or is it okay? i'm worried of headaches.
Got a bit tired and a little bit of eyestrain the first day I played it.
After that it was perfectly fine.
ah well its not as strong as a 3D tv so that explains how you're okay with it now. XD though i dont know about sonic its fast it must give a headache on the 3DS.
