I just bought the game today and so far, all I can say is.....AWESOME. The combat is so damn cool. I love using the A button to whoop the @#%$ out of the enemies and then finish them off by moving my Wiimote in a horizontal or vertical slash. The story and cutscenes are incredibly weird, but in a good way. lol It just fits with everything. Like Saving.. you sit on a toilet when you save. lol Its pretty damn crazy/cool throughout a lot of things. Throughout the game, each target on your map and even your start screen look oldschool style video game things. Anyways the gameplay is damn fun so far. I've beaten 3 assassins so far. One thing I kinda don't care much for though is the motorcycle driving. Its huge and turns real hard and crashing it makes it a pain sometimes. Other than that, I have no prob, but even that isn't much. Its not very revolutionary or anything, its just a pretty damn fun game. I recommend all those with a Wii, to atleast give it a try. Travis Touchdown ftw.
Unfortunately, it is sitting in the drawer next to me = Mom is down on the new recliner, recovering from her surgery... right in front of the TV = Might try to hook it up to my computer again tomorrow though.
I preordered it and I've been too busy to pick it up... EB's hold policy is 48 hours, right? o.o;
Yeah @ SA ... lol, that's where I got mine too
I got it, and it's awesome. The combat is easily some of the best seen on Wii and the graphics are terrific.
I can't wait to get my copy. Sucks not having a BestBuy in town. =/ But it'll make it all the more awesome when I finally do get to play it. 😛
I wonder if I had copyrighted that name... nah. It woulda had to be my universe as well in order to sue.

I have been playing nonstop the last 2 days. And I've managed to beat the game. The [real] ending was just awesome. I won't spoil anything for you guys, but to just say that I enjoyed it a hell of a lot and will be playing through it on the hardest mode now.
I constantly kept up news for this game. Obviously I must not have recently since I didn't know it was already released. From the sound of it, this game seems to be worth it so far.
I thought it was coming out around Brawl's then-Feb release. XD Oh well, managed to get to EB and pick it up. Just need to find time to play. Probably on the weekend.
Actually it was @ SA ... Ubisoft then bumped it up to "Tuesday"... although all the stores here in Minnesota stocked it on Wednesday... Because we are "in the middle of the country" or some BS like that =
yeah, it came out here on Wednesday too.
well, I finally got a chance to play the game tonight. Beat the first boss and I'm now 10th ranked.
game is pretty good so far. It's a button masher. Definitely isn't the Wii's version of GTA.
The game isn't a graphics powerhouse, and it knows it. Hell, it even makes fun of the fact.
I like it so far. I'll probably have a better opinion with more time spent on it, but seems pretty decent so far.
I've never even thought of it being like GTA. It does have a lot of similarities, but seem like two totally different games.
Yeah, and GameSpot gave it a 9.0 and Editor's Choice award, which was a shock.
I played for a couple of hours with my copy last night and reached to Rank 9. My impressions so far:
The first thing I obviously noticed were the graphics which is unique, yet very eye pleasing (though since these are the guys who made Killer 7, no surprise, I just never played that game, so it was pleasing to see this one in motion). Even the blood looks awesome and I love the way it squirts out in pure Kill Bill fashion.
Which is pretty much how the story goes. No clue if there's any twist and turn as it's straightforward right now (obviously, I've only beaten two Assassins out of ten, so I'm still early) and the voice acting is good, though it's wonky because it's peppered with corny dialogues, though I wonder if that was intentional since they do it SO frequently.
I like the general combat, lots of moves, easy to pick up. I am a bit iffy on those slots because as awesome as they are, they automatically release Travis' powers the moment the three slots are the same and it's frustrating when there's no more enemies to use it on. What a waste, it's like FFIX's trance all over again. I enjoyed the little side missions they give you (though I only did one), but the assassionation missions outside of the Main Ten is lacking so far. Having only to save in Travis' room or before a final battle is a bit frustrating though, especially when you navigate the town of Santa Destroy and just wanna get somewhere--so I wanna save anywhere to make it more convienent.
My opinion could change in time after further playing, but I'm definitly impressed so far.
Hahaha everyone who's ever given an impression/review comments on the VA. I really can't wait til next weekend. I'm going to get it the moment I get in town. lol
My favorite line from the enemies is "MY SPLEEN!!!!" as you slice them in half.
Yeah, the saving is somewhat wonky. I usually just take the bike off a cliff, which restarts you at the motel.
Yeah, I do that too. I love the cheesy dialogue. Well the most of it. My favorite line by far that I remember is from Travis before one of the bosses, he says "If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious." And the ending was just funny/cool.
I just beat it and saw the "real" ending yesterday. I have to say, I do hope there's a sequel, even if Silvia claims there won't be.
Hhahah @ the quotes. I believe I have heard that in one of the trailers, Incognito. Oh man...3 more days for me. Can not wait.
lol, I don't know about you guys, but Rank 5 is probably my favorite fight so far. I laughed so hard.
I'm almost done, I just beat Rank 2 last night which was a incredibly maddening difficult battle. Such an irony that the last eight or so baddies were pieces of cake (in their own ways), but Rank 2 took like seven tries. That chick is very good at her blocking.
I dunno, Hiro. I really loved the Rank 9 fight against Dr. Peace. Not to mention he was just a cool character.
Just beat the game for the first time... lol confusing plot twists at the end.
I'm now left waiting for the sequel that "isn't coming"...
Considering that Silvia is a liar, I'm more inclined to believe the message in the game over what she says.
Well I picked it up, but have yet to try it. I'm going to play it later on tonight. Got the last copy from BestBuy actually. Can't wait!
I picked it up as soon as it got in at the store. Paid off the whole preorder a while back so I just nabbed it. =D Unfortunately, I had work right when the store got it in, so I had to have the longest 5 hours of my life. As soon as the game was announced I was psyched, so I waited a long time for it, and I loved Killer7 greatly. My thoughts? One of the best games I've played in recent months, and I got a new 360 with tons of games to break in in December. o_o And yes, the rank 5 "fight" was the best.
I REALLY should play the Mario Galaxy I got.... haven't even touched it...

Alright well i've not done a whole lot yet. About to take on the number 8 guy, but im loving the game so far. I love the retro sounds and little ranking list after an assassination. The gameplay is cool, and the odd jobs, while odd are fun. I loved the Dr. Peace little dialogue. When he talks about his dinner and whatno, and Travis comments about that lame entrance fee. xD! But for some reason I think Silvia...has something to do with the story...like more than she shows right now. Hmmm...anyway! I'm off to get some more lbs, then assassinate. ]
lol @ HS2003... then just wait for the ending... The game kicks you in the crotch, takes your wallet, throws you in a dress, and then holds your face into a 'smile' while it takes a picture.
XD! Oh gosh, wow. I really wonder who is behind me. I'm placing my top dollar on the idea of Sylvia(or is it Silvia lol) bwing ranked 2nd by the time im ranked 1. Maybe...possibly. 😛
Glad to see so many people enjoying it. I've been hearing that it has done a lot better selling in NA than it did in Japan. Hopefully, somehow, they make a sequel, because I'd definately preorder myself a copy.
You guys should watch the comparison of the fight endings on Youtube... pretty interesting. I feel bad for the Euros, as the endings look like crud in their version. Especially DestroyMan's.
Yea Incognito...im loving it. Good im glad it's seling here. So the endings are different for Europeans? Aww man...that's lame...Destroy Man's was a good one too. I'll have to do that sometime. Thanks for the heads up, Hiro.
Wow...that's like crazy. Why even bother doing that really. Anywho, Lets Shake scared me, but I was still looking forward to "fighting" him. Pooey! That Sir Henry Mother-, yea you know the rest. Loving this game. Holly Summers was interesting too, btw. I've noticed[as did Holly] that TT won't kill the females. Odd, yet expected from him lol. That guy I was chasing prior to the "fight" for #5, wasn't Lets Shake, was it? 😛
It's spelled with a "z", I think...
>_<! Indeed it is, spelled with a "z". Thanks for that... >_> But on top of that question, does anyone else enjoy the mini game you unlock. The space shooter type one, you know? I like it. I'm at number 2...just one more to go. Should prove interesting.
Update: Alright then...so this game is rated M for language, violence, blood/gore and incest. =P I'm playing on Bitter at the moment and I gotta say...so much fun. Wish you got the slot wheels anytime you Death Blow[ed] someonme, instead just on the way to a ranked fight. Anywho...loved the game. The "ending" gave me an idea for a sequel[which they better make]. You're rnked 1 and you must fend off the rising assassins, because we all know Sylvia will do it to someone else.
Yeah, I was it would have had something like that in this one at the end. If they do make a sequel, I would bet on it being like that.
Ok so...I hear the real ending makes my idea of a sequel kinda unlikely, but i've gotten back into the game and i'm continuing my run through on bitter. I know Shinobu was alive at the end, but i've yet to see the real ending and apparently Henry shows up[finally]. But yea...has anyone else picked up the game since our discussion started? Any ideas for a sequel? What do you want to see? What don't you want to see? Craig stay out iof this topic...because I know you're just going to bash the game. JOKE! But yea...don't let this thread die. 😛
Haven't touched the game in awhile, but lets see. For a sequel, would be neat if you got to play as Henry at some part (thought his character was really cool) and they fix the openworld part with the motorcycle riding.
Yea the openworld could definitely be expanded upon. And considering you're #1 in America...why not travel to other countries, you know? And playing as Henry could work, yea. Or even Shinobu[assuming she's still alive]. I hear Goichi was thinking of doing one...he just wanted to see how sales and stuff were. Here's hoping.
Yeah...Sir Henry &^%#@(*^$% is by far my favorite rival-type. I've beaten the game already. ANd whoever said the assassination missions are lacking hasn't played enough time with the Tsubaki Mk 2 or 3. Watching them go down 10 at a time is just awesome. And my favorite death line? "I don't feel ^&%$." Yeah...DestroyMan was my favorite...HATED Bad Girl.
hehe I liked Destroyman too. His cutscene was one of my favorites in the game. I loved that line Travis used before he fought him.
"In challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious!"
Hahah! Oh yes, Destroyman rocked. Wanted to fight him ever since seeing the trailers and stuff. I wish we could've fought Dark Star though. He was scary looking. lol But Bad Girl...yea...she was crazy. The only one that beat Travis. =P "I don't feel&*^$". Hahaha, yea I remember hearing that one, but I can't think of who it was against. Love the game. Come on Goichi, give us more! Oh yea, btw...The Bizarre Jelly[or whatever they're called] creations have quite a following. An anime could be a possibility. You know what i've got to say to that...
"Strawberry on the Shortcake!!"
