Hahahahahaha! The Elite is $480? Wow I don't know why I thought it was like $500 something...in that case...your plan is actually sounding pretty good dude. I'll have to look into that.

VERY YES. :cackle

As far as the AC4 reviews, it's only a slight difference. Although they gave them both the same score, GameSpot noted the following...

Quote:

The Xbox 360 version and PS3 version are functionally the same in nearly every respect, but you will find that, surprisingly, the Xbox 360 version will look a tad better, particularly in atmospheric particle effects. Otherwise, the only real difference between the two is the 360's achievement points.

So yeah, only a very slight difference. I was just grasping at straws earlier. :p

Hahahaha, see now I think about XBox Live costing money. And I know it's only like $65.00 a year, but still thats money. I mean i'll be struggling enough in college. So now the PS3 has a good chance of beating out the 360 Elite in my book. ARGH! this generation of gaming is so darn messed up. lol

Add the cost of Live Gold to the cost of the 360/PS2 and it's more than buying a PS3 by enough to buy yourself a game. 😮

Well having recently bought an Xbox 360 myself, the cost of having to buy all the extra accessories certainly raises it to PS3 price levels. Of course I needed to buy a new modem and router (which by the way is taking me forever to set up), but even still, the recharge kit, Xbox Live Gold; wireless Adaptor and wireless headset will hike the price up a bit... not that you need all those things, but I didn't really plan ahead and now I'm living off my toe-nails until I can afford food again.

Although I find that the Xbox Live subsciption is pretty good for a year, considering all the games you can play. That especially pisses me off when SEGA feel they can charge yet a seperate subscription fee for Phantasy Star Universe to Xbox Live users.

I was originally going to go with a PS3, but really the PS2 is still kickin' ass, and all the cool games coming out for PS3 are also coming to Xbox 360, so why bother?

Xbox Live Gold is $49.99 for the full year subscription (plus a free month when you sign up). And it's all kinds of awesome, worth every cent in my opinion. :D

Yeah, the only thing I have in that list is the Xbox Live Gold subscription, none of the other accessories interested me. So I haven't had to spend much.

Hahahah I feel like a first time car buyer. There are car lots on both sides of the street and they both try to sell me a car. lol Thanks alot though guys. I'm really going to have to think about this and seriously weigh my options. I mean from what i've seen and heard and even experienced(at friends' houses) XBox Live is pretty much how I invisioned online gaming back when I first heard of it. But all of those accessories. Geez. Those things do add up quickly I know because when I bought my Wii I ended paying like $420[even though it only should've really been $300 tops, I just had to get another Wiimote and Nunchuk as well as a Wii Points card lol].

But yes Spite I definetly agree the PS2 is still taking names and thats why I want either a PS2[again] or a PS3 so I can get back into my favorite PS2 games[CvsSNK2, the Armored Cores, Street Fighters, etc] again. AHHH! Decisions, decisions. But I do have this friend who has all three of the next gen consoles[and what kills me is he hardly plays any of them :"> ] and he wants to get rid of his PS3[he has no games for it...he gets them all for 360...you know, because he can lol]. Then I have another friend who got a 360 for Xmas and he tells me not to get it, because his broke witin the first 5 months of getting it. If I was ever to turn to a life of crime...now would be the time. *gets ski mask from his closet*

Yeah 360's can be fussy. For some reason mine never works the first time I turn it on, I have to turn it on then off then on to get it to work. And I wouldn't dare go away and leave it on like I do my other systems somtimes cause it gets so overheated fast (heck I've been known to leave a system on for a few days without playing it lol).

A life of crime will do the trick, or do the Bart Simpson thing and just stare at the PS3 and Xbox 360's long enough for somebody to feel bad enough to buy it for you.

My choosing an Xbox 360 wasn't an overnight thing, I'd never played the original so I had no expectations of the games whatsoever. The PS3 was more appealing in some ways because it was going to get some new installations of my favourite series, like RE5, FFXIII, MGS4, etc. But then the light clicked in my head and I thought why should I just keep playing sequels of the same games I've been playing for the last 10 years? Xbox 360 was uncharted territory, but having got one now I'm more than happy with having tried new games instead of more of the same with new graphics. It's kinda like the Dreamcast for me in that way, which as SEGA console it still gave us a lot more original SEGA games than sequels. So long as it doesn't bomb like the DC...

But if you can turn a blind eye to next gen graphics which I managed to until now, the PS2 is still the best deal out there, especially if you've never owned one, that's loads of great games to get into! I might not have liked the DC as much if I didn't buy it at the end of its lifespan, because all the cool games had already come out on it so I didn't have to wait.

Hahaha so on, off then on. That's weird. lol Yea I used to leave my SNES and Genesis on for days. Never worrried about them. Even my GC was ok with it. Yea I believe PS3's overheat rather easily as well. I surelu do know they [did]freeze up alot(you all remember last summer/fall when the demos came out and the PS3 one would always be frozen when you walked into BestBuy lol).

Hahha yea I might try the Bart Simpson. But I definetly understand you on the new games to paly thing. I mean N3 looks amazing, as does Forza 2. 360's got the Sonic and XBLA. I hear it's quite an experience. Then again it's not always about the sequels, but the originals. That's why I miss my PS2 so much. I have all of the incredible last genenration games I never got to finish living out. Not to mention the sweet PS2 games that have come out since i've been PS2-less[1 years =(] Definetly not an overnight thing. lol

If your 360 dies out on you just send it back. It took mine a total of 7 days to get it back and it has worked just fine since then. They also serve as heaters in the winter.
I also don't care about paying for xbox live. I actually save money with it; before when a game got boring I would go buy a new one. Then about two weeks later another one. Now I'm playing that game on xbox live which is like a totally new game with a totally new experiance. If you havn't been convinced to get an xbox 360 than just look at this link.masseffect.bioware.com/
I would also like to note that I have never played a PS3 so I have no idea what it's like.

Wow Stewie, is that story true? Thats pretty crazy if so. lol Yea Mass Effect i've seen/heard about it. It looks nice...very nice. I mean i've got awhile until, i'll be buying which ever one i'm buying so i'm going to take everything into consideration.

...You're kidding me, right? Seriously, that's a joke, right?

Also - I add the cost of a wifi adapter to an X360, because my X360 won't be near the router, so wifi is the best bet. That makes an Elite more than the PS3 anyway.

Though, to be fair, you have to add the cost of an HDMI cable to the PS3. But that's not much more than the cost of Xbox Live.

Fortunately Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which I can't wait for after playing the demo, is coming out on the 26th. Just in time, too, because Resistance, Motorstorm, Oblivion, Fight Night 3, and Armored Core 4 were slowly starting to bore me.

No not a joke SX. The demos were always frozen. Like seriously I think I counted atleast 5 occasions straight when I walked into a store with a PS3 demo and it was frozen. Still that wouldn't stop me from buying one. So this HDMI cable...is it for High Def or something? Like it isn't mandatory is it?

I'm not surprised you saw frozen demos, seeing as how they keep them locked up behind those glass walls in Walmart where there's no ventilation.

I haven't had any problems with mine, though.

First of all, there weren't "hundreds of enemies" in that shootout, unless you count those tiny spider-like enemies that die in one hit, and even then there's nowhere near "hundreds." Second of all, nobody cares that their precious church was used in the game, seriously. The only reason they care is because they know they can get easy money from Sony.

Yeah, if they had included hundreds of human soldiers getting brutally tortured and nailed to wooden crosses in the church, then set on fire by Chimeran forces, I'd have a problem. But they didn't. Hell, until this news report was released, I didn't even remember that level.

How can they make a 6 minute ad for PS3 and not actually show it having anything to do with video games at all? It felt more like watching a trailer for a new Aronofsky film.

It's not mandatory, but the best HD needs it.

Also, that news article is just plain sad. oO Next, NYC is gonna sue Rockstar for putting a Statue of Liberty like thing there.

Well, I dunno... using the interior of a building without permission is a huge deal.

Legally they have alot of ground to stand on, this isn't like a "public domain" thing, like a photograph of it being published. They need to obtain the permission to perform this sort of thing, like they did when making "The Getaway". The company say they believe they got permission.

If they didn't, that's an error, as they were supposed to take that step, admitting they thought they did is proof of this. If they didn't, they messed up and are well within their rights to be sued.

It's not petty, it's legal. They were supposed to obtain permission. It's not "they should" it is "they needed to".

It's not private if they allow the public to enter the place. Private would imply that access is restricted to the general public. The case won't get anywhere because it's a public place.

lol... McDonalds is a 'public' place by your definition then...

Also, I'm pretty sure the church has a right to say, "Hey, you with the offensive t-shirt... You aren't allowed in here".

TheCinderblock, the word "private" in this context would mean it's legal definition. A judge would find what you feel the word "private" implies has little to do with the caaase.

If you can blow up the Eiffel Tower with your souped-up car, shoot at golems in the Notre Dam cathedral and have an epic sword fight atop the Arc De Triumphe, I'm sure you can wax some alien bugs in the Manchester Cathedral.

But I guess that some church roofs need fixin' and the weather just ain't right for a charity picnic, is it?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and cast my favor to Sony, because unlike the Church Of England, Sony wasn't created solely to be a religious loophole for a lecherous royal.

I never saw that myself exactly, but I do remember reading about PS3s with Armored Core 4 (and other games, I think) crashing at E3 last year, lol. Who knows if that was heat or the games themselves. But yeah, 360s definitely put out a lot of heat as well. A little annoying for me, because the room I'm in already gets too hot with the way the sun comes in and the computers I already have running. On days that are ridiculously hot already, I don't even like to run the 360 in here. It is quite spiffy in the winter, though. :D

That did look nice. Now all sony has to do is make an exact copy of the 360's controller (I love that thing) and they might have a potential buyer.

And is that controller fully operational? Geez...what a nerd. =P Yea I watched that video. Hmm...let's see. Vry reminiscent of the PS2 adds when they first came out. But I could've sworn GT HD was canceled, unless that was just the option to purchase items online and stuff. But yea Tekken Sex...ahem..Six. looked quite amazing. Honestly I can't wait for that game. And the online community stuff was very inviting. I believe my decision has been made. Now I just need a few hundred bucks to blow. :D
