360 software continues to outsellf PS3 in Japan in this week, as far as I can tell.
are they lumping in PS3 games to that bluray count?
As far as I can tell, no.
Jinkies! Could someone tell me what posessed Sony not to release anything for the PS3 in one of the biggest holiday weeks in Japan? Oy.
Sony needs to whip Squenix more, they're getting disobedient.
For what? Only pretty much every other game they're making is coming to the PS3 or PSP in some fashion. Squenix is probably being better to Sony than any other company is.
They were just the first third-party company that typically sticks with Sony that I thought of, shut up. >=C
You mean for that one generation on the PS1? <.<

Are you sure you are talking about the S-E and not NIS? I think S-E seems to be supporting Nintendo equally--MS not so much, even though they announced The Last Remenant for the PS3/X360.

Nah, they just stick to wherever the money is. That's why they put one of their biggest games on the DS.
And Square-Enix doesn't need to be whipped in shape as they are not owned by Sony. Sony needs to whip themselves in shape.
Pretty sure. I don't deny that there's a showing of Squenix games for the DS and Wii, however (FFIV remake, a lot of Crystal Chronicles things, KH2 and FFXII spinoffs, the new Dragon Quest)... it's just that a lot of unique material is going to Sony (FFXIII, FF Tactics and FF I & II remakes, that fighting game, The Last Remnant, some new Mana that's coming out really soon, FFVII: Crisis Core, et cetera). In fact, that's about half their line-up. And, well, there's my "every other game" spiel, right there. It's quite literally every other game they're making.
S-E also recently released another Mana game for the DS, Heroes of Mana.
Based on this year's S-E Party 2007 Square-Enix Latest/Upcoming release in Japan looks like this:

Cash-ins.
First it was Microsoft X-Box 360 Elite and now comes Sony 80GB PS3. Bad news is in South Korea only. At least for the time being.
Bah. Parasite Eve...
Can they just re-release the damn thing on the PSP and give me a reason to buy it?! It was banned in the UK for some reason (sequel wasn't) and I'm too cowardly/superstitious to chip my console.
At least they acknowledge the franchise exists... that's good enough.
Whoo, 20GB more.

And now we know why the 20GB model was discontinue. In others news no Solid Snake till March 08' which is good beacuse I don't have enough money to buy a PS3 yet.
v1.80 is out. Love the PS/PS2 upscaling. nN
So I heard they released a game for the PS3 now.
But it turns out it was just a rumor, sorry. There's still no games.
But, uh... enjy your slightly better-looking movies?
Yeah, definately. ^_^
*hangs head* Now, now Wonder, the PS3 is getting Lair[as of now] and that game looks fantastic, IMO.
Cindy said Oblivion is great, but it isn't really my preferred genre.
The PS3-exclusive version of the Godfather was fun.
What are those people doing?
I think they are playing PGR3.

Acting...poorly =
Not that I didn't laugh my head off at that page, but to be honest, the Wii commercial ators (this excludes the Japanese guys; I'm talkign about the families) look somewhat cheesy to me, too.
That they are, but there's more point to them for the Wii, to show how it works.
So far I don't think I've seen a PS3 advert that shows off its features, this is Sony's worst area so far. I hope things improve though, it'd be nice if something like Little Big Planet could be advertised on TV despite being a PSN game.
I've seen the PS3 ads where it does some crazy thing like float in the air like some kind of UFO, reiterating the fact that it is alien technology and thus far too complicated for us to comprehend (Which explains its huge price.)
PS3 ads never have anything to do with the PS3!
I'm noticing several of those pictures show people supposedly engaged in multiplayer gameplay, yet the image on the TV clearly looks like full screen single player.
You could argue that with the PS3 ads too, then. o.o
I mean, it does show the PS3 in operation, does it not?
How do we know it works? The cables aren't even attached!
As a photographer by trade, I have to say. SX, if you defend that pile of blue tinted, partially blurred bullcrap, I will end you.
These things make me sick, the lighting is non existant, the PS3 itself is blurred in the majority of the shots, the weather outside is overcast for some shots, everything has a blue tint which makes me think the person picked up a Nikon, set it to "flurescent light" and went crazy.
FFS, dumb ^&(^ use custom white balance, play with the shutter a bit, get the right focus depth so the product you're pimping is in the damn shot! PLUG THE DAMN CONSOLE IN DURING ACTION SHOTS!
First picture: Blue tint and dark. (PS3 out of focus)
Second picture: Over-exposed, white and bright. (PS3 out of focus)
I can pick like 3 out of these which don't suck to high heaven.
Give me the job, Sony. I have skill and passion by the bucketload.
Seriously. No one defend this steaming crap, ok. I don't care how much you love the console, there is no excuse for proffessional photographs to look like this.

Not in the same sense, the Wii is a rather new idea and a system which is good for party games, so show off the motion controls and multiplayer. The PS3 is an all round entertainment system, and a processing powerhouse, yet so far the ads have been creepy, completely unrelated, and now crappy attempt at advertising like the Wii's adverts. This could be the worst one to date, as advertising in the similar style as the Wii looks desperate and will simply make it look like a way too pricey Wii. Sony needs to advertise it's features to the public more, Blueray, free online connection, and the future games like MGS3, Heavenly Sword, home and others..and get some of them released too!
I recall the PS2's ad campiegn, very well.
"Playstation Magazine with free 25 minute MGS2 trailer"
*SOLD*
...oh and Fantavision.
I'm sure I recall a bizarre PS2 advert which involved some bloke going through this trippy world. And I vaguely remember a man with a duck for a head! I wonder if it's online anywhere.
This was like not long after its release, and I may be entirely wrong in it being for the PS2.
I still think "This is Living" is relatively sane and safe compared to the Pirate TV and those crazy SNES adverts.
The less said about the Sega/Mega CD ads, the better. Wow...
Videogame ads kind of suck.
Before the euro ps3 launch there was an ad which involved various people, a dog and a grenade (i'll include a youtube link later to it) and finished with the url thisisliving.tv (no mention of ps3 in the ad at all) most of my family thought it had something to do with living.tv channel until i explained to them that it was a ps3 ad (they laughed at 425).
I saw that advert in the cinema before Ghost Rider. I shouted "WHAT?!?!?!?!?!" inadvertantly, everyone laughed.
That moment is the best thing Sony has done for me since I imported KH2.
I'm not saying it's a good ad. Calm down.
Sony doesn't exactly have the market cornered on oddball, inneffective, or just plain stupid ads. I think more people hate it because it's Sony than they do because it deserve total hatred.
Well I was looking at some Saturn, Genesis, N64, DC and SNES ads on youtube a few months ago. I thought they were good. Actually some were a bit harsh. Like SNES and Genesis were straight-up mudslinging. DKC ad "No where else can you get a game that looks this good. Not on those other systems you can't blah blah blah...". Then the Dreamcast commercial claiming Sony wasn't ready for it; nor the world. Oddly enough that was kind of true to an extent. lol But yea now the ads aren't as creative if you ask me. Then last generation we had the PS9. What the hell! The Gamecube had cool ads with the peole in cubes. Then of course Sony's slogan is great "Live in your world, play in ours". But on to my actual reason for even coming here[that of which I nearly forgot]...
I think i've asked before, but does the PS3 play DVDs. I know it plays Blu-Rays, but i'm figuring if it can play PS2 games[which if I remember correctly were written on DvDs] then watching a DvD should be possible right? Because if it can't i'm getting a 360, forget Sony. =P
It upscales DVDs to 1080i. v1.80 upscales PS1/PS2 games, too.
I don't use my DVD player because I like the upscaling. 😀
Also, according to EGM, the PS3 has outpaced the PS2 in terms of units sold in the same timeframe. Hm.

get a 360 anywaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
*shot repeatedly*
HAHAHAH! I should've known you'd be up to your antics again. Unless I somehow earn A BUNCH of money and can afford an Elite and PS2 i'm sticking with the PS3. I'd love to play you in AC dude(definetly after finally playing AC4 GOOD GOODNESS!) and maybe one day they make a crossover game that connects Live and Playstation Network or w/e.
PS3 = $600
Xbox 360 Elite = $480
Slim PS2 = $130
$480 + $130 = $610
what's ten bucks, come ooooooooooooooon...
*ducks a volley of bricks*
But seriously, getting a 360 means you'd get to play AC4 with everyone from Agetec! (most of them seem to have gotten the 360 version) *flails in futility*
...did I also happen to note that the 360 version of AC4 got a slightly better review?
*beaten mercilessly with an Xbox*
Hahahahahaha! The Elite is $480? Wow I don't know why I thought it was like $500 something...in that case...your plan is actually sounding pretty good dude. I'll have to look into that. Possibly by the time I can afford either of those the price of all three will've dropped meaning I could probably throw in a DS Lite as well. =D That way i'll be helping all three companies and in no way change the present distribution of influence. *mutilated*
I've played PS3 AC4. The only reason the Xbox version would get a better rating is because people hate Sony, because there were no glitches or problems on the PS3 one that I noticed.
Unless the copies they reviewed DID have some issues that affected their opinion, and/or the 360 version has advantages over it for some reason.
Seriously, just because there's a lot of negative things said about the PS3 doesn't mean it's all anti-Sony drivel. There's a lot of reasons not to like them lately, but not everyone is against them, even if they have negative opinions on aspects of the PS3.
At IGN at least, both got... exactly the same rating >>
