A couple of years ago, I bought the Network Adapter for the PS2, but because I used AOL to connect to the internet, it proved useless so I gave it my little cousin who had Roadrunner
I no longer have AOL, and am considering buying the adapter again. So, what I'm asking you folks is if there are any good online games for the PS2 worth getting? If so, which ones? Or should I just scrap this notion and pick up a used X Box w/ Xbox Live?
Thanks
I too am considering hooking up my PS2, though only for MGS3: Subsistances online multiplayer. Despite this I'm not sure how the PS2's connection works.
I would play online but a wireless network card is like $50 x_X
Depends on whether you have broadband or dialup. If you have dialup, don't even bother. If you have broadband, you'll need a router (the D-Link DI-604 will suffice). Using Cat5 network cable, connect your DSL or cable modem to the router's WAN port, your computer to LAN port 1, and your PS2 to LAN port 2.
Ahh, thanks Cycle.
That setup doesn't seem so hard. So are there any games any of you would reccomend?
Ratchet: Deadlocked.
But that's just me. Great First or Third Person shooter, especially if you like cute fuzzy things blowing the crud out of each other with Rocket Launchers and Sniper rifles. o.o
Do you have to pay Sony a monthly fee to use PS2 Broadband? If not, then I'll consider getting it for MGS3.

No, because they don't support it in any way, shape or form.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (March 15) has an online multiplayer mode that I'm looking forward to.
I hear Resi: Outbreak 1 and 2 are actually worth bothering with for the multiplayer.
Just not the single.
