I must be out of the loop, what's so special about this particular rhythm game?

Well that was...surreal...and new...and different.

I don't really understand the appeal either as it seems capable of inducing migraines. My friend will probably like it.

In short, The game's protagonist is a character from the popular Japanese singing synthesizer computer game called VOCALOID. Hatsune Miku is from the second game.

I take it that SEGA is hoping that their not too late to jump on the id@lmaster bandwagon, but then again it is SEGA...

Not game, PROGRAM.

THIS is a game though.

Edit: Here's the "English version" program in action, just to give you an idea of how it works.

Oh please, Crazy Frog pulled this stunt in Europe years ago.

But the game looks cool, and Hatsune Miku has such a badass character design, she deserves to be officially mascotted. Though the leak she's holding in the video is like a majorly weird connection to be officially referenced (Swedish song + Bleach = meme; + vocal program = obscure and odd).

Project Diva is lookin' pretty sweet. Shame I don't have a PSP though (yet! ). Oh, and:
