i'm confused half the stuff i want to buy are labled "PAL" my brother says that's european or something, and our Xbox is "NTSC"... what does that mean? i can never have those games on the Xbox ever?
or is there another version of the game on NTSC.
PAL is European and Australian. NTSC is North American. As far as I know the Xbox is region locked you you can only play games specific to your Xbox's region. So if your Xbox is from North America it can only play North American games. Easiest way to tell regions is from their ratings. NA has the ESRB and PAL has PEGI.
There might be some ways around the region locks, but I don't know all of my stuff on the Xbox. For instance I have a disk for my Dreamcast that will let me play any region of games on it. Just put the disk in, pull it out when it tells me to on screen and then put in my imported game. I don't know if there is a disk like that for the Xbox, you could try looking around.
oh yeah i remember that dreamcast CD, i played loddess wars and macross on the dreamcast thanks to it.
but that ESRB thing is handy.
actually a store owner was trying to convince me to buy a PAL game saying it works for NTSC... i guess he wasn't fooling.
btw PAL seems to get more japanese games than NTSC what gives?
thanks anyway Abac.
