Well, my only advice is that you must be heavily leveled up, and make sure you can hold 20 items. When you're able to, buy LOTS of shrooms and a few attack items.

lol, I tried SPM's pit on Friday... I got to either 98 or 99 and died =... I nearly cried, but the sibblings were watching, so I hid my tears like a man.

and im at level 41 with 30 hp, 25 fp, and 99 badge...

Take advantage of Zess T's cooking to combine items, there's no point having three items when you can have pasta or whatever that does what the three items can do in one.

yea i make the jelly ultras, but they are so expensive ><
my main problem is those guys down on level 80-95 that you cant attack.. i think they are called dark bristles.. but they are usually the ones that get me.

You don't have 50+ HP or FP, so Jelly Ultras are a waste of coins.

at one point i did, but i switched all my fp and hp into badge points. but when i did have alot of health+fp i used the jelly ultras but still couldnt make it past 70.
its actually more effective now that i have 99 badge bcuzz i slowly regain health and have high defense and stuff.

hmmm... Maybe check out GameFaqs.com... They might have a strategy guide on how to defeat the pit, or at least the final enemies...

when you get to the bottom, can you fight the boss again? or does he just die once and thats it.

You'll fight him once and that's it. You can go back to the 100th floor anytime after that, but there's really no point to it
