Well, I've decided to not buy a system this generation, and wait for the next one (lulz 4+ years) So I've decided to just play the crap out of my PS2,and I'm looking for suggestions on any game that you enjoyed on it. Yeah, that's really it, so I guess just look over what games you own/have played for PS2 and recommend the ones you enjoyed. And don't worry about saying what I already have, I just really don't feel like listing them. I'd appreciate it.

The X-Men Legends I and II and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games are something you should consider even if you are not a comic nor a rpg fan.

Capcom vs. SNK 2 of you're into 2D Fighters. Stree Fighter Anniversary Collection as well. Midnight Club 3, Armored Core Nexus[if you're into mech games], Gran Turismo 3, SSX Tricky...and ummm Tekken 5. I can't think of any others. Oh Katamari Damacy is great too.

Don't buy the FFAC because it has not aged well at all. Haha...but just what are some of your favorite genres? That would help.

O_O

*hugs 360*

There's definitely a lot of good stuff on the PS2, though. Here's some random suggestions based on stuff I have or have played on other systems and know the PS2 versions to be comparable. (favorites in bold)

Armored Core 3
Armored Core 3: Silent Line
(Silent Line: Armored Core in the US)
Armored Core Nexus
anything else in the Armored Core series, although those three are my favorites
Burnout Revenge
Guitar Hero series
Gran Turismo 3
Gran Turismo 4
Medal of Honor series
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Mega Man X Collection
Mega Man X8
Mega Man X Command Mission

Midnight Club 3
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Okami
Shadow of the Colossus

Sonic Mega Collection Plus
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront II
Tourist Trophy
Viewtiful Joe

Some of those I like better than others, but they're all pretty good. And it all depends on the type of games you like. And the collections mentioned would be largely dependant on your interest in those older games in the first place.

Also, I have no idea what other systems you already own, but another possible idea for increasing your game collection would be to pick up a GameCube if you don't have one already. There's some good stuff available for that one as well, and it's all probably pretty cheap by now.

Awww...really Torn. That's lame. I got FF:KoF for Virtual Console and Wii and i'm loving it. The game seemed to age fine, IMO. Maybe. But yea dude what genre do you like most. Although regardless what genre you like...Sonic Heroes is your game.

That was a joke guys...come on. XD!(even though I do like the game) *gasps*

Thanks for the replies =D

Just put anything that you enjoyed, I really don't feel like narrowing the list of what is open to me right now, as I'll be with the PS2 for a while.

ZeroSky:
I don't feel like picking up a Gamecube, because if I was willing to do that I may as well just buy a Wii due to the backwards compatibility. =/
And regarding your O_O, I'm just mooching off of my friend who has a 360 and PS3, so I don't have any need to own a system.

Ah, mooching works. =D As far as the Wii goes, I seem to forget half the time that it's backwards compatible with GC games. A GC would still be cheaper and probably easier to find at the moment though. But I can see your point; it's just that in my case it's worth it to me because I'm somewhat of a Zelda fanboy, haha.

But yeah. As far as PS2 games, some of the Splinter Cell games might also be worth looking into if you like stealth action stuff. I know one or two of the PS2 versions weren't supposed to be very good, but a few of them are supposed to be at least close to their Xbox counterparts.

Where to begin... Let's see...

- Guitar Hero I + II. You can not go wrong with these two. Heck, even pick up GH3 as well. No better party game.

- Devil May Cry 1 + 3. The best two action games to hit the PS2. Only pick up 2 if you finish the other two and have an urge to at least see what 2 was like.

- Shin Megami Tensei. Any of the games that have recieved English release. Nocturne (Lucifers Call in PAL regions), Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2, Devil Summoner and Persona 3 (although I've yet to play the last one). They are an excellent RPG series, that you can NOT pass up.

- God Hand - If you end up liking Devil May Cry, get God Hand as well. From the same producers, it takes the same basic style and injects it with some serious awesomeness (As if DMC wasn't awesome enough as is!?).

- Gitaroo Man. If you do not enjoy this game, then I dis-own you from teh interwebs. One of the best, if not THE best, rythm games to ever exist. The graphics are nice, the story is suitably cheesy, but the music, oh my good lord, the music! That's what this game is all about!

Also;
Armored Core (Any of the series)
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
Okami
Shadow Of The Colossus
Ico
Viewtiful Joe
Farenhiet/Indigo Prophecy (PAL/NTSC)
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 1 + 2
XIII
Killer 7
Metal Gear Solid 2 + 3
Timesplitters 1 + 2 + 3
Need For Speed Most Wanted
Soul Calibur 2 + 3

And that's about it. Enjoy your list. =P

the Ace Combat series and the Metal Gear Solid series are definate must-haves.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction is pretty fun, and it has decent replay value - I've replayed it almost a dozen times.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat isn't really BF2 in terms of gameplay, but I found it pretty fun and the online mode is OK.

Beyond Good & Evil- a really overlooked game. Has cool characters, story and gameplay. Also available on other platforms if I remember correctly, but I ended up getting it for the PS2.

Shouldn't I? They're fantastic games if you like flight sims, and they're a lot of fun if you DON'T like flight sims.

Final Fantasy XI if you can find it. Needs a network adapted, but the core pack (again, if you can find it) comes with a hard drive. You can find me on Siren server.

Also, yes @ God Hand. Another gem by Clover.
